Gummy recently left YG Entertainment after her contracted ended earlier this year. Since then, she has signed with a new company and has gone down for a more different style. I adore Gummy because she has an amazing voice. Every past song that she has sung in the past sounds amazing. She also recently collaborated and released a song with Wheesung. Both voices complimented each other and sounds amazing. But this song is a solo song, and I must state this. I LOVE THIS STYLE.
To me, the song is a lot similar to Bye U by the rapper Outsider ft. G.O. Not because the song is similar but the style of both songs are party anthems, and both have this cool instrumental which you can rock to and feel like you’re at a party. I find this song easy to understand with. Not as hard as other songs. It is not as heavy or has anything complicated or complex in it. The instrumental literally got me head banging the first time around. Though I think her voice suits ballad more, Gummy pulled this song off really well. She sounds amazing, even if this is the total opposite to her expected style. Which makes me think that YG Entertainment has kept her under wraps a lot. Anyway, I love the club feel of the song. Don’t know why though, since I am more of an introvert and will avoid party’s (and going out with friends the most I can!).
The music video is okay. Not the best. I wanted to see her transformation partying with people. But all we got was a DJ, Gummy (assuming it is her, causing the lighting is pretty bad at this club) singing to an audience. It probably was just a live performance. Now, I know she is underrated, despite coming from a company that is a part of the big 3. But for crying out loud, she is an artist coming from the Big 3. At least give her a music video that has the ability to put her back onto the KPOP map! But at least the music video was set in the club and not in some random subway in New York. I hope not, though.
I think the song makes up for lost ground that the music video has not covered. 10/10. This song is seriously addictive.
