[Weekly Chart] 1st Week Of December 2019

A reminder that the 2019 KPOPREVIEWED voting period is currently open. Many of your favourites including MONSTA X, GOT7, BTS, SEVENTEEN and EXO are nominated in multiple categories. Click here to support these artists and your other artists before the 31st of December.

The year has flown by very quickly and now we are on the home run to completing 2019. Christmas carols are being played in the stores and many of us are making plans for the holiday period. This is my excuse this time to why the Weekly Chart is a day late. I had holiday plans that ate into my posting time yesterday. But here are the charts for the 1st Week of December, better late than never.

The first two positions this week features Mamamoo’s HIP and GOT7’s You Calling My Name (respectively), which remained steady from last week. In the third position, we have Lee Jun Young (otherwise known of Jun from U-KISS) and Curious About U. The fourth position showcases EXO’s newest release, Obsession, while the Top 5 is completed with the presence of WJSN’s As You Wish. For more of the charts, scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 3rd Week of November 2019

[Update: I just opened my Twitter and saw that Goo Hara had passed away. At the time of posting this chart, I was not aware of the tragic news. My deepest condolences to her family, friends and fans.

As I did last time, I won’t be posting anything on Monday out of respect for Goo Hara. The posts will be begin again on Tuesday and I will reschedule the album reviews accordingly.]

Welcome to the weekly charts for the 3rd Week of November 2019. Sorry for the late post. Usually, I post the weekly charts a lot earlier in the day (which makes way for another post in the evening). But due to personal reasons, that didn’t fit my schedule today. I am also actively working on the ‘album review blitz’, where I publish one per day. It won’t be possible today, but there will be two coming your way tomorrow. But until then, let’s have a c look back on the past week.

Taking the top spot on the charts this week is Mamamoo’s Hip. Not those hips, but the song Hip. I waited a while to use that pun. Hahaha… Excuse my lame sense of humour. In the second position, this week is Seven O’Clock’s Midnight Sun. In the third position, it is last week’s number 1 song, GOT7’s You Calling My Name. IN2IT’s ULlala: Poisioning clinches onto the fourth position, while ASTRO’s Blue Flame rounds out this week’s Top 5. For more of the charts, scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 2nd Week of November 2019

Welcome to the second week of November. Apologies for the small number of reviews in the past week. I has expected to post a few more. But technical difficulties got in the way, preventing me from doing so. Hopefully, this week my laptop and Internet are on my side, so I can post the many reviews that I want to write, on top of the many new releases expected this week.

But let’s have a quick run through the Top 5 of the charts. On the very top is GOT7’s You Calling My Name, which was last week’s second top song. In the second position this week is Mamamoo’s latest release, HIP. NU’EST’s Love Me rises back into the Top 5 to clinch on the third postion. NATURE’s Oopsie (My Bad) debuts in the fourth, while DAY6’s Sweet Chaos remains steady in the fifth week (relative to last week’s charts).

[Weekly Charts] 1st Week of November 2019

November? You are already here? Woah. Literally, where has 2019 gone? Excluding October though, because I am sure everyone wants to forget that one month. But let’s look forward to the final two months of the year as there will be a lot of comebacks, reviews and special segments coming your way. I know I have been promising a lot and they will come, so don’t you worry. But we need to look at the charts before proceeding forward, so let’s dive right into this.

Topping the charts for this past week was Wonder Woman by Brown Eyed Girls. Last week’s number 1 song was also another Brown Eyed Girls song (Abandoned) and it seemed to play switcheroo with Wonder Woman, which was fourth last week. GOT7’s You Calling My Name comes in the second position, while VICTON’s Nostalgia Night finds itself in the third position. Finally, the final position in the Top 5 goes to DAY6’s Sweet Chaos.

[Weekly Chart] 5th Week of October 2019

It has been a rough week for a lot of fans. From what I remember from the past week (there was a lot going on), two idols left their respective groups for differing reasons (Woojin left Stray Kids and Wonho left MONSTA X). It ended October as one the worst months in KPOP history. Hopefully, there is good news in Wonho’s case, especially with fans supporting them him from all corners of the globe. And best wishes for Woojin’s future in whatever he does. I also understand that Hwall left The Boyz due to injury and health reasons (?) and I wish him the best with his recovery.

Let’s open the new week (and month) with a look back at the Weekly KPOP Charts for the 4th Week of October 2019. Topping the charts this week is the longest-running KPOP female group (with no changes to their lineup), a.k.a Brown Eyed Girls, with their ballad Abandoned. The legendary female group also has Wonder Woman in the fourth position of the charts this week. In the second and third position this week, is DAY6’s Sweet Chaos and TXT’s Run Away, rising up 14 and 8 spots respectively. And finally, MONSTA X’s returned with Follow and they finish up the Top 5 for the week.

[Weekly Chart] 4th Week of October 2019

Welcome back to the blog. I would like to firstly apologize for my absence. I know I have given warnings about my impending absence. I just didn’t expect it to be so much longer than I had hoped for. For example, I would have restarted the reviewing process during the week. But some issues came up with my work and I had to fix them, which resulted in delays. I was supposed to return yesterday but Internet troubles prevented me from doing so. Today, I hope to upload 2 songs reviews after this chart. The rest of the reviews will slowly trickle through during the week. The album reviews will be restarted this Tuesday (No Past Album Reviews for November). And the ‘Upcoming Reviews’ Page will be published this week (yes, I promised this many times already but things just got in the way).

For the charts this week, Jung Daehyun’s Aight finds itself in the top spot! This is s followed by ONEUS’ Lit, AB6IX’s Blind In Love, Seventeen’s Fear and Stray Kids’ Double Knot. I also believe this is the first week that no new songs made their debut in the Top 10, which is extremely rare. Blame me for this as I was unable to listen to the new releases much this week, resulting in their lower than expected rankings (than usual).

[Weekly Chart] 3rd Week of October 2019

Welcome to the Weekly Charts for the third week of October 2019. A fair amount of comebacks occurred this week despite the sad news from the start of the week (you can see this in the previous Weekly Chart post which I published mid-week). I will get around to posting a few extra reviews tonight, while I am hoping to get the album reviews going again by the end of the week. I will also try to get that special page in which I list the upcoming reviews out today or tomorrow.

For this week, TWICE rises to the top again with Feel Special. This is the third week in which they have managed to top the charts, which is expected from the digital queens. ONF rises up one position to the second position this week with Why, while Kei’s I Go does the exact same to land in the third position. In the fourth position, it is a new song from the week. That is, Lim Hyunsik’s Dear Love. Last week’s number 1 song, Blind For Love by AB6IX, dropped down to only the fifth position.

[Weekly Chart] 2nd Week of October 2019

Hello everyone. Welcome to another edition of the Weekly Chart. I was originally going to post this on Monday night. But I think the majority of us have heard about the tragic news regarding Sulli. So I thought it would be best to hold onto this post for a day or two. I just wanted to start to express my condolences to Sulli’s family, friends, former group members and fans. I was very shocked to read the news as on Monday. And over the last day, I have also been listening to a lot of older F(x) music, along with Goblin, as a mini-tribute to Sulli. So a lot of the shock and sadness is still in my system. But no matter what happens, Sulli will forever be apart for the KPOP industry and will be deeply missed by all. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to fans and the industry over the last 10 years.  I hope that wherever you are now, you will be resting happily in a better place.

For those who feel sad, lonely and like they just don’t have someone to talk to, please don’t feel that way. I know that is a hard thing to say. But I am always certain that there is someone close by that is always happy to lend an ear and listen to your worries and thoughts. But if you are uncomfortable talking to someone you know, there are numbers that you can call to talk to someone who you don’t know. It always helps to talk to someone, whoever they may be, so keep that in mind. And if you have a friend or family member who looks like they need someone to talk to, do not hesitate to chat with them. A simple “Are you okay?” can go a long way.

So, for this week, I wish to gloss over the charts given the circumstances. I hope you understand why. AB6IX tops the charts this week with Blind In Love. Super Junior’s pre-release single, I Think I rose to the second position and is followed by ONF’s Why. The rest of the top 5 is made up of Kei’s I Go and Stray Kids Double Knot, respectively. [Weekly Chart] 1st Week of October 2019

It is a late post for this week’s Weekly Chart post. Usually, I post the charts early in the afternoon. But in addition to daylight savings (which has thrown my internal clock off balance) and the continuous pileup of work, I have been very busy. This week I celebrated my 8th year posting and expressed my gratitude for the past 8 years. On top of that, I announced that the next few weeks will be very erratic in terms of the posting schedule. I have put album reviews on hold and I will be making a list of songs that I will slowly review once I am freed from the confines of studies. And I will get that list up in the next few days and slowly add to it as the next few weeks go by. In the meantime, let’s look at where your favourites rank this week.

Topping the charts for the second week in a row is TWICE’s Feel Special. It has definitely become one of my favourite title tracks to date from TWICE. Lit by ONEUS comes in second this week, followed by LABOUM’s Firework, which rose one position this week from last week’s fourth place. When It Rains makes its debut this week and Jeong Sewoon places fourth this week. And finally, the Korean version of the Avenger’s, SuperM, who made their debut with Jopping on Friday and just performed for the first time today, places in the fifth position. For more of the charts (i.e. 6th to 30th position), scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 4th Week of September 2019

Welcome to the 4th Week of September 2019. I am a little busy today, so it will be a quick introduction. I have cancelled today’s and Tuesday’s album review due to the same reason. I will be back with song reviews tomorrow and the next album review will be posted on Friday. Now, the introduction is over and we move onto the chart recap!

Topping the charts today is TWICE’s Feel Special. The song has grown exponentially on me, so expect to see it on the top end of the charts in the next few weeks. Devil by CLC takes out the second position this week, while KARD’s latest single, Dumb Litty earns themselves a 3rd place debut. Laboum remains in the Top 5 this week with their Firework comeback, while EVERGLOW (with Adios) rises back into the Top 5 by completing the Top 5 this week. [Weekly Chart] 3rd Week of September 2019

This time around, I am not a few days late. For those who missed my mistake, I didn’t hit the publish button last Sunday. And I didn’t realize until Thursday. So the chart post ended up being 4 days late. Whoops. But today, I am making sure I press the button as soon as I am done. Welcome to the charts for the 3rd week of September 2019.

Topping the charts this week is SEVENTEEN’s latest comeback track, Fear. I guess other songs would need to fear this comeback as SEVENTEEN’s return has further extended their influence on the industry. Following them is LABOUM’s Firework, which I think might be sticking to the top end of the chart for the next few weeks. Sunmi’s track (LALALAY) topped the charts the previous week and this week she finds herself in the third position, while last week’s number one song, Devil by CLC, finds itself in the fourth position. And SEVENTEEN’s HIT, which has topped charts twice already, completes this week’s top 5.

[Weekly Chart] 2nd Week of September 2019

So I just found this in my draft folder. I thought I had posted it already but it turns out that was just my imagination and deprived mind. Apologies, but here it is now.

Hello everyone! It has been another busy week for me (which explains my lack of reviews). But there wasn’t much to cover this week due to the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which effects some Asian countries, such as South Korea. Though I suspect next week will be busy as there are already several confirmed to return, so prepare for those reviews (and I will try to get them done as soon as possible). In the meantime, let’s have a look back on the charts for the past week.

Landing on the top of the charts this week is CLC’s Devil. And then we see the recurring Top 5 song’s for the last 9 weeks, Pentagon’s Humph! and DAY6’s Time Of Our Life (taking out the second and third positions respectively). Last week’s number 1 song (LALALAY by Sunmi) finds itself in the fourth position, while SEVENTEEN’s HIT completes this week’s Top 5. For more of the charts, scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 1st Week of September 2019

I am a little late today with the Weekly Chart post. Usually, I don’t post this late into the evening, as my album review will be published around now or a little later. That is still coming. Hopefully, I will have it up before midnight or a little after midnight. In the meantime, let’s look at the charts for the 1st Week of September. Yep, the end of the year is around the corner.

We seem to have some new contenders at the top of the charts, while some just won’t want to bridge from the Top 5. Sunmi’s LALALAY has risen to the top of the charts, ending both the SEVENTEEN and DAY6 reigns for the past month. Weki Meki’s Tiki Taka is this week’s second-place song. Pentagon’s comeback is one of the two songs that have been in the Top 5 for the past few weeks and Humph! comes in third. X1’s Flash is this week’s fourth-place song, while DAY6’s Time Of Our Life (yes, them again) rounds out our Top 5. For more of the charts, scroll down below.

[Weekly Chart] 4th Week of August 2019

Can you believe that August is already up and we are literally in September? How fast is the year going?! It is a little crazy. But as we move into a new month, another has wrapped up as well. And it is time to look back on the week through the Weekly Chart Segment. Currently on my week off, so I expect I will be drafting a lot of posts in preparation for the remainder of my final semester as I will be quite busy with projects and tying up the loose ends from my studies. Hahahah…

So, let’s have a little look over the charts for this week! Coming back to the top of the charts for the third time is DAY6’s Time Of Our Life.
