One of the first posts after 30 June each year is my ‘Personal Favourite’ post. Each year, to help round out the first half of the year, I post a list of my personal favourite songs from the 1st half of the year. As we are now in July 2024, it is time to post my personal favourite songs from the 1st half of 2024 (with a few extra tidbits).
For this year’s post, I am following what I did last (and the year before that) year, as I quite liked how that turned out. In addition to the usual list of 10 songs (which are in no particular order and not related to my reviews as songs do grow immensely on me) for the first half of 2023, I will also be posting two songs from the November – December 2022 period I personally liked and 3 non-Korean songs (i.e. English, Japanese etc.) by Korean artists that caught my attention so far this year. So without further delays, here are the list of my personal favourite songs of the year thus far (in no particular order, of course).

Hi! Long time reader, first time commenting! Loved your selections, especially ONF’s Bye My Monster. The Red Velvet ladies Cosmic have the 2nd spot, followed closely by Kepler’s Shooting Star. Riize’ Impossible is just the song that keeps giving. Other favorites include SF9 Bibora, CIX Lovers and Enemies and Cravity’s Love or Die.

Red Velvet’s Cosmic was a little too recent for me to really justify its presence on this list. I was a little worried that it might have been the hype of being a Red Velvet release.
I may have forgotten about Kep1er’s release when I was putting this list together… But I think it might make presence should I remake or reissue the list.
Totally agree with your comments about RIIZE’s Impossible, but its presence on this list was closely contended by Boom Boom Bass and Love 119.
CIX’s Lovers and Enemies was on the list at one point in the development of this list, but it was more so a matter of other songs being just a bit better, which resulted in it being dropped off.
