Welcome back to the final post from the 2022 KPOPREVIEWED Awards series. In this post, the official winners of the 2022 KPOPREVIEWED Awards are officially announced. If you remember back correctly, majority of the winners were all decided by YOU!

Majority of the categories were determined purely by fan votes gather backed in December/January – over 10,000 people participated in the fan voting. Thank you all for making this a widely successful project, once again!

Only a small portion of the categories were determined me by only (i.e. the blog related categories and Best Side Track of 2022). As for Best Overall Song and Best Overall Artist of 2022, both of us decided the winners for the two categories, via a 50% split of fan votes and of my Weekly KPOP Charts that I post on a weekly basis.

For information regarding eligibility, please refer back to the first post in the series.

With the introduction out of the way and without further delays (as you have waited long enough), I present to you the winners of the 2022 KPOPREVIEWED Awards.

Award season has crept up on us again as we find ourselves in November/December. And per usual, it is time to announce that the KPOPREVIEWED Awards is coming back for 2022. For those who have not been following the blog, I have been holding a little award ceremony on this blog each year since 2013. The winners in the first few years have been determined my personal choices. And over the last few years, the the KPOPREVIEWED Awards have evolved to being determined by a mix of fan votes and me!

This year, it is all happening again! I set the nominees, but it is you that will get to decide the Best Groups/Soloists, Best Performances etc. As for Best Song and Best Artist, both you and I will have a 50/50 split in saying which song and artist was the Best of Best in 2022.

Eligibility Period

For this year, the eligibility period for song and artist nominations is between 25 October 2021 to 31st October 2022. That means if your favourite artist released music on or between these dates, they have been considered by me for nominations. And if your favourite song release happens to have dropped between these dates, it is eligible for the Best Song of 2022 award.

As for albums, any albums released between 25 October 2021 to 30th September 2022 were considered for the 2022 KPOPREVIEWED Awards.

Any song release or artist who makes their first comeback of the year following 31st October 2021 will be considered as part of next year’s KPOPREVIEWED Awards. Any albums released after 30th September 2022 will be considered in next year’s KPOPREVIEWED Awards.

What awards will you get to vote for and determine the winner for? I have broken it down into 3 groups:

• Fan voted categories – these awards are determined by your fan votes.
• Mixed – these awards are determined by a 50/50 split of fan votes and myself.
• KPOPREVIEWED categories – these awards are determined by myself only.

So, when is it all happening? See the list of dates below. And don’t worry, I will be constantly reminding you throughout the 1.5 month period in which the voting page will be open!

• KPOPREVIEWED Choice – 21 November 2022
• Voting Period Opens – 12:00 AM AEDT 26 November 2022

And the announcement of winners? I am aiming to get that out on 31st January 2023, but that isn’t a finalized date just yet, as I am on break that week prior to that. Might have to move it to some time in February if I am pressed for time, but I will advised of a more formal date as we get closer to the end of January 2023.

It is that time of the year again where I announce the winners for the 2019 KPOPREVIEWED Awards. In December 2019, I allowed the audience (you all), once again, to vote for their favourite songs and artists for the December 2018 to November 2019 period. Thank you to all who voted and participated in the KPOPREVIEWED Awards this time around. Even more people voted this year, making this year more intense than ever in many categories. This post will focus on the final category, the Best Song of 2019. Each person who voted had the ability to choose five songs that they thought were the Best Song of 2019. Each song that was entered in was counted and made up 50% of the End Of Year Charts. The other 50% are based on the rankings of the Weekly KPOP Charts, which are conducted by me. Together, they form the End of Year Charts for 2019 and I present to you the Top 100 songs of 2019 below.

In the Top 100, I have highlighted some songs in RED font, which represents the songs that I would have voted for if I had voted (which I didn’t this time around).

Congratulations to EXO’s Obsession for becoming the Best Song of 2019 and ranking on the top of the charts for 2019!

Welcome to the final post for the 2017 KPOPREVIEWED Awards. It is time to find out who took out the award for Best Song of The Year. If you have yet to find out who won the individual categories, make sure you click here first!!!

This year’s awards are structured differently. This year, the way the Best Song of 2017 was chosen is based on 50% fan votes (which was conducted over the voting period of December 2017) and the other 50% is based on the Weekly KPOP Charts that I publish every Sunday.

So without further ado, I present you the Best Song of 2017 along with the rankings that determined the Best Song. I have only published the Top 50 on this site, but if you want to see a full listing, scroll down to the end to find the link which will send you there.

Congratulations to Red Velvet and their November release, Peek-A-Boo, who has ranked the top song of 2017 and hence, The Best Song of 2017.

It is the end of the year and you probably know what time it is, the annual KPOPREVIEWED AWARDS. Last year, I posted a survey to improve the site and one of the questions asked were in regards to the End of Year Charts. Essentially, a large majority of the people who participated in the survey wanted to participate somehow in the charts.

Hence, this year, you will all be able to vote for your favourite songs of  2017. On top of that, you will be able to all vote in various categories (best new artists, groups, soloists choreography, music videos etc.) for this year’s KPOPREVIEWED AWARDS.

I have hand-selected the nominees for each category and you can only select one nominee per category. You must vote in all categories and you can vote as many times as you want. The winners, which will be entirely fan chosen, will be unveiled on the 10th of January 2018. I will also be doing a ‘KPOPREVIEWED choice’so you can see who I thought was worthy of the category (it may not be who you all vote for).

For the ‘Best Song Of The Year’ award, you are able to nominate 5 songs (TITLE TRACKS ONLY – REFER TO LINK BELOW SURVEY FOR A LIST OF SONGS) by typing them into the field. Make sure to include the artist and make it clear so I can understand who and which song you will be nominating. The ‘Best Song Of The Year’ award will be the song that tops the usual ‘End Of Year Charts’. It will be decided by your votes & the weekly KPOP charts.

END OF YEAR CHARTS – 15th January 2018

Better late than never, I guess. Welcome to the End Of Year Charts for the year of 2016. This took a little longer to do than what I had anticipated. I do this annually to rank the songs released in the year and see which songs top the year.

As usual, I utilised the original review score, but also re-reviewed the song, videos and performance (where applicable). An increment was given to songs released in the last four months of the year. However, this year’s way of ranking is a little different to previous years. This is because this year I took time out to try to record the number of times I listened to the song (as accurately as I can). Also included is the weekly charts that I did since May (while they weren’t launched until July 2016).

The final addition to this year’s chart (i.e. the weekly charts) also meant that the songs released after May would have been ranked higher than songs released prior to May. One of the few things I observed with the charts. I have also coloured and bolded the songs that I put forward in the KPOPreviewed awards (Part 1 here and Part 2 here) as Best Song of the years to see how they ranked on the charts.

Here are some other facts/rules for the songs to be on the charts:

• 215 songs were included in the chart (but only the top 100 is published this year).
• The first song to be included in this year’s chart is iKON’s Dumb and Dumber. The last song eligible to be on the charts is EXO’s For Life.
• To appear on the charts, the song must have been replayed for over 10 times. Some songs were removed as they failed to make that requirement.
• EXO had the most songs (6 songs) on the charts this year (Lotto, Lucky One, Monster, Hey Mama, For Life and Dancing King (ft. Yoo Jae Suk)). Mamamoo, Seventeen, BTS, Oh My Girl and VIXX followed behind with 3 songs on the charts each.

So without further ado, I present to you the final chart of 2016.
