Stop It – B.A.P

B.A.P is now back with another song, that seems to be leaning towards more of the cutey side rather than the man warriors that they debut in. It is much different compared to their old songs like Warrior as it is not as friece and dominate and it is not like Crash, where they were not serious and doing it for their fans. Stop It is more serious compared to Crash, as they sing about a love song and just like that, they give us another single. Can I just say also, this is the sixth song they have promoted this year.

The song is just not what I want to here. Crash was more cutey, but this song did not cut ir for me. To be honest, I was disappointed. I think this is the weakest song that the boys have tried since their debut, and really don’t fit their image. From the title, Sop It sounds like it will be a bad-ass song like Warrior, however, in the end we just had a really sad bubblegum poppy type song. To me, this song does not draw out their vocals and their raps. The chorus was catchy though, and sounded okay. However, I miss bad-ass B.A.P, wish them to comeback next year.

The plot in the music video is quite weird. So BYG walks out with a burger or sandwich and is hit by Daehyun who is driving the car. BYG is sucked into some kinfd of time warp. He then turns invisible and has the chance to stalk the love of his dreams and stop JongUp, Zelo from messing up in the girl’s class, Youngjae from proposing to her and Himchan from kissing her. BYG thinks that she cannot see him, however she seems BYG clearly or actually senses him perfectly. She lures him to a small room and zaps him, sending into some kind of white room. My question is why could Daehyun see BYG after he went through the time wrap  Why couldn’t the others see him? And why does he have the power to breathe fire? Is he a dragon? That is a lot more than 1 question…. Well, apparently he is meant to be a devil character. This is one weird storyline.

Their dance is okay, a bit jumpy. But it is just okay. I like the Superman part though.

Sorry, a 5/10. Not the best song out there. Not the best song for them to sing.

Crash – B.A.P

Is there like something going on now? These guys have been working non-stop releasing their repackaged album for No Mercy, and before that released so many other songs. Give these guys a break! But these guys have come back with a unexpected turn in style. B.A.P is known for their really hardcore, “warrior” type of image, but they made their comeback with a cutey, aegyo type of song. Totally unexpected, but seriously, I have not heard any criticisms with this, I think they are just fine!

The song is really aegyo style and really is not what I like. But with the sound of the song, it does keep some of the really powerful bits of their other songs in it. I think the vocals are more highlighted in this song  than raps, to show what Daehyun and Youngjae have. As ais above, it seems like they have taken many parts out of their previous three stages and made them into something cute and mashed them together, which is a good thing. I approve. The only thing that was a letdown in this song would be the raps. Though, I know this song is for fanservice and stuff, but raps made B.A.P stand out a lot, and more of it would’ve been greater. Also the song was too short.

The music video is just clips of them having fun. Nothing to complain about here.

The dance is pretty good for this song. Did I see a “Starlight Moonlight” reference in the dance since most of the guys performed with Secret as background dancers? But I think the choreography was pretty good, and did show their softer side, which did fit the sound of the song. I am not disappointed at all! Oh, and all the article about Bang Yong Guk’s depressed face when Zelo jumped into his arms! Hahahahahaha.

Really short review, but one good song. A good music video and a really good choreography. 8.33333/10.

No Mercy – B.A.P

B.A.P made their comeback with another fierce and powerful song. This however did not carry out the same kind of vibe, as Warrior or Power, but is more a gangster, bling bling  type of song, that I would expect Flo Rida to carry out. But they made this song look professional for such a new rookie group. They are still fierce, but at the same time, quite mature.

The song is definitely gives off a different feel to the group than Warrior or Power. They gave us more of a tough kind of image, than a gangster, laid-back kind of image. The song is quite a catchy beat than really makes this group outstanding. At first, I thought the song would not work out for them, but I was wrong. It grew on me, and turns out it one of the most listened to songs on the list. The raps are always superb in my opinion, and the vocals are always great as well. I really don’t have anything to complain about this song. Well, beside Himchan’s Boom Clap Boom Boom Clap part. It sounds like he was saying gibberish to me.

The music video is quite smart. From a foreigner’s mind, the zoom in images of the random objects are really random, and may put the viewer off. However, quite cleverly thought out by the director, the images compliment the lyrics so it is good. The music video too was quite dark for me, which I don’t really think is that important, but when I think of it again, a really bright music video would not have worked as well anyway. I also did not the like the red-orange background for some the video. It was quite distracting. But beside that, with song and dance, everything else was alright. Oh wait, shorts.

The live performance is pretty good. Daehyun never leaves us unimpressed with his high notes during the performances, and the dance is pretty good. I am not sure if some of the performances needed the traditional instrument players to come out, because they made the stage look a bit messy and uncoordinated, but they had their time to shine.

Well, look at that. 8.5/10. The music video was a bit distracting. but beside that I am quite happy to give them this rank.

Power – B.A.P

Song

B.A.P is back with another ass kicking song. You think Warrior was bad ass you have not seen Power. Basically the whole title sums the song up. There is so much POWER in the song. I was literally stunned by the effectiveness of the song when it came out. I quite enjoyed the raps in this song and they are much catchier than the Warrior raps. Okay, why don’t I say I like the song much more the Warrior. Warrior was good but Power is much more catchier and heavier. The vocals are really catchy and I am quite surprised with the outcome of the song. The English is really good and I love YoungJae and Daehyun’s part in the song.

The only complaint is Daehyun’s long note part near the end. It did not match the feeling the song. But beside that, I am playing this song on the loop.

Music Video

Wow, Again. you think Warrior was awesome, well you must not have seen Power. It is so freaking good. I have been blown away. See Super Junior & SHINee, this is how you do big blockbuster songs. That big alien spaceship is really cool. I must say I loved the rabbit but now a rocket ship. What is next? The World Largest Car? That would be awesome. I really like the setting of the music video as well. It sets a mysterious vibe in the song and really does reflect the sound of the song. I’m not entirely sure about the start of the music video but did you see Bang Yong Guk’s ear piercing? They were sharp as!!!! Enough to kill someone. Wait. Scratch that.

I just hope that tattoo on Zelo is a fake one. I don’t like tattoo’s. Especially since he is my age, I now don’t want to see that tattoo on him if it is real. He looks dodgy with a tattoo. No offence.

Oh, I really like their range of clothes. Very stylish for a fierce comeback.

Live Performance

One thing I must say. I also don’t like ripped pants or pants with holes in them. They look bad, disgusting and unfashionable. Seriously.

WOW to the dance of the song. It is really jammed pack and trust me, would really be difficult to dance to. I really like the HATE YOU part of the dance and the “spray dance”. It is really creative and different in the KPOP world. It also looks really fun to dance with. Oh and I love the “We’ve Got The Power, I’ve Got The Power” part of the dance as well. It definitely feels like they have power when they are dancing.

And The Rating?

I give this song a 9.83 out of 10. Its a really good song and has a very different feel to the many other KPOP songs nowdays.

Have Fun Watching Troy 😀

Live Performance Here:

I Remember – Bang Yong Guk (B.A.P) ft. Yang Yoseob (Beast)

Song

OMG, this must one of the best ballads yet. Rapping and vocals were superb. I never would’ve thought that these two, one a good rapper (Bang Yong Guk) and the other is one of the best vocalists in the KPOP industry (Yang Yoseob). The song is not a good song that people would say “Sounds good.” This song is a song where people would say “OMG, IT IS SO GOOD.”

Like come one, you must agree with powerful raps and powerful vocals, this song is hard to beat. I also felt that there was something familiar between this certain song and Going Crazy by Song Ji Eun featuring Bang Yong Guk. Am I getting somewhere now?

This song tells the story about a guy who remembers the memories of his lover. Along with the music video which I don’t want to discuss the music video here, but we get the sense that the person has actually died and is remembering the past.

Music Video

Wow oh wow. Is this music video banned by the MOGEF yet? Did you see the back of the guy’s head explode outwards? Did you see the amount of shots he took to the body? I would be very surprised if the music video is not banned yet. But if my memory serves me right, it was banned.

As you can see in the music video that even until the last moment in a person’s life, love can so be so powerful. The guy proved his true love to his girlfriend who happened to be kidnapped at the last moment. He storms through all the bullets to just get to the other side to be with his girlfriend until the last moment where all their happy memories come back to both of their minds until reality took over and said that they were both going to die.

I have some complaints. Firstly the road or tunnel which the gun-fight took place, is that not the same place where Kim Hyun Joong filmed a part of his music video for Break Down. (Something unrelevant, but the atmosphere in the music video for Warrior by B.A.P is exactly the same). Also, for some reason the police seemed to be pretty crap. They could not keep a guy out of gun fight and kept shooting at him during the gun fight. Seriously police? There are other people much better than you are.

Live Performance

There is a live performance? There is a performance but only featuring Daehyun, a member of B.A.P (Bang Yong Guk’s band), but this review clearly states I would be reviewing the orginal version. But if you want to see, I will link you it here. It is still epic.

And The Rating?

I would give this song/music video a 9/10.

(NOTE: I swear I wrote a review for this music video before. Deja Vu?)

Have Fun Watching. 😀 Troy

Warrior – B.A.P

Song

Wow! This is a very good song that set their careers with a boom. This song is really good. I have been playing it on the loop. The chorus is okay in this song but the raps are just awesome. Bang Yong Guk & Zelo’s success in the past had really reflected in this song. Zelo’s rap for me was the best part. Rapping without taking a breath. I’m proud to say that I will be waiting for new songs from this group. I really love the “Warrior” part. It sounds really good and is the most memorable part of the song for me.

Music Video

Wow. Is it me or is everyone really impress with this music video? Like seriously impress! Everything is really included in this music video and nothing is excluded. I find that the music video set is very compact and tight which gives off a good feel. Oh yes, since this song has a gangsta like feel to it, I quite enjoy the fact the music video set is like some on garage. Just imagine the bill in this music video. 2 cars smashed. Quite a lot of money wasted there. But still really good music video.

Live Performance

Even the stage can not hold itself up when they are doing their small dance sequence on stage. LOL. Their dancing is very powerful. I quite enjoy watching them stomp around. Also the “digidigideom digidigideom” was quite cool. I really like how they fall on the stage and then scurry back for their next dance move. Very smart. Also, I can not figure out who is who (except for Zelo —-> he has permed hair). The rest all look the same. (RACIST. Only Joking :D)

And The Rating?

Too good for a debut. MYNAME had a good debut as well, but not as good as B.A.P. 9/10.

Have Fun Watching 😀 Troy.
