Like previous years, I have put forward the nominees to you, which I will announce today. 2025 was another challenging year to propose 5-6 nominees per category—so many other artists, songs, and performances deserve nominations. It was to the point where I had to expand some categories to 8 nominees! But per usual, there can be only one winner.

With the end of 2025 fast approaching, it is time we celebrate the year that has just passed. And what better way to do that than by the 2025 KPOPREVIEWED Awards! Welcome to the annual event, where you (yes, YOU!) get to choose who were the best of the best in the year that has just passed.

What does the 2025 KPOPREVIEWED Awards entail?

Per usual, I have done the hard and challenging job of selecting the nominees for the 2025 KPOPREVIEWED Awards. In a couple of days, the nominees will be announced and the voting form will open. Your votes (and your votes only) will determine who is the best of 2025 in the following categories:

Per usual, Best Song and Artist of 2025 award winners will be decided based on fan nominations (you will be able to pick up to 3 songs and 3 artists each when voting opens) and my Weekly KPOP Charts. Both will be weighted equally (50% each). Your nominations will also help determine the Most Popular Song and Artist of 2025 awards. More details regarding voting will be published when voting opens!

What is the eligibility period for the 2024 KPOPREVIEWED Awards?

• An artist is eligible for nomination in any category (including Best Artist of 2025) if they had a comeback between 1 November 2024 and 31 October 2025 (inclusive).
• A song is eligible for nomination in any category (including Best Song of 2025) if it was released between 1 November 2024 and 31 October 2025 (inclusive).
• An album is eligible for nomination provided it was released between 1 October 2024 and 30 September 2025 (inclusive).
• A performance is eligible for nomination provided it was performed between 1 November 2024 and 31 October 2025 (inclusive).

What will fans not be voting on?

Any category based on the blog (i.e., Most Viewed Song and Album Review in 2025) and my Weekly KPOP Charts (i.e., Most Number 1 Songs in 2025), as well as Best Side Track of 2025. That’s all me!

Next up: Check the blog on 17 December 2025 for the nominees and voting form (which will open on the same day and remain open for a month)!

Late last year, I put forward nominees for the 2024 KPOPREVIEWED Awards to you. After a fan-voting period that lasted a month and a half and another month to tally up the votes, I will finally announce the winners for each category today. Keep reading to find out if your favourites emerged as winners!

Based on how close many categories were in the end, it was definitely a close competition and a tough decision for you all. Yup, this is a reminder that the readers (i.e., you) got the chance to vote for the winner for most categories. Two categories (Best Overall Artist and Best Overall Song of 2024) were decided by 50% fan votes and the other 50% by my Weekly KPOP Charts.

Under each category that you voted in, there will also be a:

• Honourable Mention – the runner up in the category (determined by your votes),
• KPOPREVIEWED Choice – my personal choice if I had voted in the awards, and
• a list of the nominees in the category, with the winner in red text.

In addition to being a stark reminder of how fast another year has flown by, around this time each year, I am officially announcing the reutrn of the KPOPREVIEWED Awards to celebrate the KPOP debuts, comebacks, performances, and artists that have graced our minds this year.

This year, the 2024 KPOPREVIEWED Awards, has been bubbling away in the background since October.

What does the 2024 KPOPREVIEWED Awards entail?

Like the last few years, the winners of majority of categories in the 2024 KPOPREVIEWED Awards will be decided purely by your votes! I have done the hard work of providing the nominations of who I think are the best in each category, but you will have the ultimate say from that list!

Best Song of 2024 and Best Artist of 2024 award winners will be decided based on fan nominations (you will be able to pick up to 3 songs and 3 artists each when voting opens) and my Weekly KPOP Charts. Both will be weighted equally (50% each).

When will the winners be announced?

Some time in late February. I am unable to pick an exact date, as it will depend on a few factors (including how fast I can get through the count for Best Song and Artist of 2024 – these take the longest).

I will also be absent from the blog throughout January (trying to get some posts scheduled whilst I am away), hence why the voting period will end once I am back on board!

Just a bit of a recap of what has happened thus far, I announced the nominees back in November 2023, after which fan votes were gathered to help determine the winners of most categories for a 2 month period (up until mid-January 2024). I did go on a break after that, but since returning from the break, I have been working extremely hard to finalise the counts and prepare this post.

Welcome to the official voting post for the 2023 KPOPREVIEWED Awards!

Over the last two weeks, I have posted the Nominations for the 2023 KPOPREVIEWED Awards and my personal choice (i.e., KPOPREVIEWED’s Choice) of whom I think are worthy of being winners under each of the 26 categories.

BUT I don’t select the official winners. You do! For the 36 categories in which I nominated 6 songs, artists or performances for, you are the very people who gets to decide who, or which song, or performance, the winner is.

You will also have the opportunity to nominate at least one artist and song (and up to 3 of each, if you wish) that you think is worthy of being crowned the ‘Best Overall Artist of 2023’ and ‘Best Overall Song of 2023’ respectively. The criteria of these two awards are determined via 50/50 split of fan votes and KPOPREVIEWED’s Weekly KPOP Chart.

Your votes in the two categories mentioned above also determine who the Most Popular Artist and Most Popular Song of 2023 is, as well.

Once again, you will be help decide, in combination with my Weekly KPOP Charts, who will be awarded the ‘Best Overall Artist of 2023”. Think it like the Artist Daesang that is awarded at the end of the Korean award shows for the biggest and most successful artist of the year.

All you have to do is name 1 to 3 Korean artists in the voting form, once voting begins on 15 November 2023. It can be any artist from any category above, or another artist (provided they released music between 1 November 2022 to 31 October 2023) who you think is worthy of becoming the ‘Best Overall Artist of 2023’.

Welcome back to the final post from the 2022 KPOPREVIEWED Awards series. In this post, the official winners of the 2022 KPOPREVIEWED Awards are officially announced. If you remember back correctly, majority of the winners were all decided by YOU!

Majority of the categories were determined purely by fan votes gather backed in December/January – over 10,000 people participated in the fan voting. Thank you all for making this a widely successful project, once again!

Only a small portion of the categories were determined me by only (i.e. the blog related categories and Best Side Track of 2022). As for Best Overall Song and Best Overall Artist of 2022, both of us decided the winners for the two categories, via a 50% split of fan votes and of my Weekly KPOP Charts that I post on a weekly basis.

Award season has crept up on us again as we find ourselves in November/December. And per usual, it is time to announce that the KPOPREVIEWED Awards is coming back for 2022. For those who have not been following the blog, I have been holding a little award ceremony on this blog each year since 2013. The winners in the first few years have been determined my personal choices. And over the last few years, the the KPOPREVIEWED Awards have evolved to being determined by a mix of fan votes and me!

This year, it is all happening again! I set the nominees, but it is you that will get to decide the Best Groups/Soloists, Best Performances etc. As for Best Song and Best Artist, both you and I will have a 50/50 split in saying which song and artist was the Best of Best in 2022.

Eligibility Period

For this year, the eligibility period for song and artist nominations is between 25 October 2021 to 31st October 2022. That means if your favourite artist released music on or between these dates, they have been considered by me for nominations. And if your favourite song release happens to have dropped between these dates, it is eligible for the Best Song of 2022 award.

As for albums, any albums released between 25 October 2021 to 30th September 2022 were considered for the 2022 KPOPREVIEWED Awards.

Any song release or artist who makes their first comeback of the year following 31st October 2021 will be considered as part of next year’s KPOPREVIEWED Awards. Any albums released after 30th September 2022 will be considered in next year’s KPOPREVIEWED Awards.

What awards will you get to vote for and determine the winner for? I have broken it down into 3 groups:

• Fan voted categories – these awards are determined by your fan votes.
• Mixed – these awards are determined by a 50/50 split of fan votes and myself.
• KPOPREVIEWED categories – these awards are determined by myself only.
