Wild Flower – Park Hyo Shin

Just weeks ago, I reviewed Park Hyo Shin’s Happy Together. I did mention that Park Hyo Shin did release another single, much earlier in the year, titled as Wild Flower, which was hugely successful. That being said, I could not miss the chance to review it. Given the low amount of comebacks that I could review at the moment, I have decided to go back in time and review past songs. Wild Flower was released on March 28th and later went on to top all charts in Korea. Given that Park Hyo Shin is known as the ballad prince in South Korea, that is not surprising. From what I have read, this song and Happy Together are songs off the singer’s 7th album. But we have no word on that album yet, so we shall wait.

This song has an amazing orchestral instrumental. It just blows my mind. The piano and orchestra just did such a great job. I wouldn’t have a problem with it just on its own. The singer’s husky voice was pure bliss and sounded so heavenly sounding that it just gets makes my mouse go back to the replay button. I just love his voice has so much impact but at the same time is so soft to listen to. The way he eases into notes are amazing. As for the song, I just love how his voice and the instrumental (ever so slightly) builds up to the end. His high note at the end. Don’t even get me started on that. I just can’t really say much about this song but praise it so much.

The music video was really nice. Though it was just him and close-ups of him singing, it was nice to watch. Yes, it got a little boring after a while, but still it is a beautifully shot video. The scenery is just empty and matches the emotions of the song. Not sure about those “behind the scene” shots at the start, but I am not going to complain about them. They gave the music video some eeriness to it which made the video seemed mysterious in a way.

I was watching a fan cam of his performance of this song at his recent concert. Those tears, I don’t know what they are for, but it is amazing. Despite him being able to not to sing due to him crying, he managed to push through and finish the song. Especially how the fans were supporting him while he was crying.

Do I have to say anything else? This by far, is the most perfect comeback that I ever scene. 10/10

Happy Together – Park Hyo Shin

Park Hyo Shin, a singer that I personally did not hear about until 2014, has been a success. Earlier in the year, he released his epic single Wild Flower, which got him so much popularity, that literally everyone listens to his music. He debut way back in the day in 2000. He has a few hits, however his song Wild Flower made people around the internet start to pick up his name. Now, he released a single titled as Happy Together.

This is such a happy song. It made me smile when I first heard it. It just sounds so amazing. When I heard Wild Flower, his vocals captivated me so much that I listened to the song continuously. I have never heard such a song like that. Happy Together was a little different. It included his husky voice but sounded a lot more cheerful, especially during the chorus. I also loved the English phrases sprinkled about in the song. It sounds like a song that I would play to my girlfriend. The English phrases added to the overall effect of the song. I believe Lyn was featuring as the back vocals in the song. That added a more cute effect to the song, which to me sounded like little children singing. Still, the song was amazing.

Personally, I have not watched the music video yet. So everything I type now are my first impressions. The English translations of the actual lyrics mention “a young boy who had a dream that resembled the blue sky”. The music video did just that. They took a boy and made the whole story around the sky. Kid was so cute when he got ready to go out. I just loved the bedroom set. It seemed authentic and quite real to my eyes. His so cute acting all mature. The mug attached to his bag reminds me of the silver mug that people would bring with them when they go camping or hiking. Beautiful music video overall and really well filmed.

I have to admit. This was a wonderful comeback song and I will always be listening to this song to remind myself about the happy times. And so should you. 10/10

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!!!

It is finally Christmas and I am excited! And the year is already up. Sadly though. However, shall we continue with a more different review this time around? But before that, I just would like to wish everyone who will read this post a Merry Christmas. Enjoy your time, with family, friends or anyone else. Be thankful and be safe. Let’s enjoy the final few days of 2013 and ready to party with 2014. Anyway, today, it is really more of an impromptu review. Not score will be given for these reviews. I have review Lonely Christmas by Crayon Pop and Miracle Of December by EXO. There are however four more Christmas songs that I want to review and today will be three song reviews in one! Shall we get started???

Christmas Song – United Cube

United Cube is back with a lovely slow Christmas song that showcases the groups under A Cube Entertainment and Cube Entertainment. The artists in this song include: Beast, 4Minute, APink, G.Na, Huh Gak, Roh Ji Hoon, BTOB and Oh Ye Ri. Wow that is a lot of artists. Also included is Kim Gi Ri, the comedian for Gag Concert. The song has this soft tune that reminds you of a warm Winter’s night, like Christmas Night. Though the song starts off really slow and it takes quite a while for it enter a more Christmas-like song, by the end, you are bound to remember those warm Christmas nights with your loved ones. I think the rap was handle really well in this song which is pretty good, considering how raps tend to ruin a good song. And the whole song, vocally, sounds amazing.

 Love Falls – Romantic J

Now we are getting into the more festive songs. This song may sound like a love song, which it is. I really love the jingle bell feel of the instrumental and how the vocals in this song are not hard hitting as powerful vocals. Though Jonghyun from CNBlue does not have as much lines as Juniel, the song still sounds amazing. His husky voice fits the tone of Juniel’s voice which makes the song have this beautiful duet. The song is quite addictive and sounds really good. I have been lipsyncing to this song since it came out. Though the music video may seem more of a romantic story, the song still carries the Xmas cheer. Yay! Also, this is a duo that I would love to hear more from.

Winter Propose – Jellyfish Entertainment

This song is the only song that is really close to those Christmas carols we here every year. Not exactly what I like, but it still does. It features all the artists of Jellyfish Entertainment including: VIXX, Seo In Guk, Sung Si Kyung, Park Hyo Shin and also a mysterious female singer (do I hear a singer debuting next year?). This song sounds amazing and really has that festive cheer to the song. It combines all of the artists of Jellyfish Entertainment and amazes me a lot. Though I was not much of a fan of their previous Christmas song and also their more experienced singers, this song gives you that warm feeling that makes you remember Christmas day and eve a lot.

Snow Candy – Starship Planet

The final song which gives off the happiest Christmas feeling of the year. It features Sistar, K.Will and Boyfriend and seems the most enjoyable song out there for memories of family and friends. Again, this song, along with the others vocally sounds amazing and the rap seemed to be handle really well by Bora and the Boyfriend rappers. Of course K.Will and Hyorin holds the main vocal part of this whole company venture, but with this song, I am going to let it slide. The music video also seems to be the most festive one out of the four. Pity that Dasom from Sistar was not a part of the filming, but probably have featured in the he song somewhere. Not sure where though.

Thank you for spending another year with me. Merry Christmas to all, wherever you are on this planet. Be happy and I will see you next time!!!!
