Just The Two Of Us – Davichi

Source: http://www.mtvk.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/k_davichi_mystic-ballad.png

Davichi has finally began their official promotions of their third album with another wonderful song. At the end of February (from memory), they released a single called Turtle, which I have reviewed about already here. They also on the 1st of April, another song, giving thanks to their success for their all kills which they have all achieved with the two songs. All Kills in Korea is when they top all of the three major charts in terms of download. But hey, congratulation Davichi. You deserve it!

Davichi sounds really good in this song. Their harmonisation is spot on and really sound well. The song is quite slow, but it fits their voices really well. I guess this song fits the standards of their previous songs or even higher. The piano  accompaniment sounds amazing. You can hear sadness of the song and the sorrow which they have in this song. Seriously, no wonder people say they are like a powerhouse. The songs builds up slowly and when they reach a  certain part, they unleash all the power they have gathered, which Davichi always seems to be the best at. I also think I can hear a harp in this song. I don’t usually hear harps at all. But hey, I don’t want to creep you out yet. So let’s just rest it at this.

The music video is really good. First off the bat, I would like to mention the lighting in this video. The moments when the lead actress feels sad and lonely, there is this dark lighting in the video. The moments where she is happy and enjoying her time with her quite handsome boyfriend, the lighting is quite bright and joyful. Now, that is off my chest. Yes, this is a such a sad music video. I found the music video itself compliments the song and its sorrows. However, there are a few things that quite confuses me. The first, is the craving into the table. That really does not occur where I live. Not sure about Korea, but carving things into the table is definitely not on my list of social norms. And also, did he crave “Be With Yo4” instead of “Be With You”? Secondly, the music video is actually lacking a scene, as a YouTuber did notice. I agree, the music video is missing the scene of why he actually first broke up with her, but yet it shows that he misses her. Did he hide some dirty secret from her? Did he suffer and avoided his girlfriend from suffering?. Lastly, she seems to be drinking a lot in this music video. I don’t think she touched her food at all. (Yes, she did order some food. Check the end of the video).

The live is like a normal ballad performance. Just those rose covered chairs really look distracting in the whole performance.  -Insert best bitchy face here- .

8.5/10. Pretty good.

Come Back – AA

Source: http://kpopconcerts.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Double-A-2.jpg

AA has made their long-awaited comeback. It has been like over a year since we all last saw them. From memory, I never got around to reviewing them, which totally sucks, because I really liked their previous song, Going Crazy. However after numerous months off, and a month full of teasers, the boys are back, with another song. On with the review:

The song, titled appropriately as “Come Back”, to me, is not that spectacular. Some people may think that this is a totally awesome song, but to me, it was kind of weak. What happened with their teasers? The teasers had really good songs, but instead we got this song. It is not exactly rubbish, but their were some parts that got me a little weird. Let’s start with the start. Oh the start, what was with the intro? That medieval style guitar-like sound. The song actually breaks down into a more popish song. Not keen on the transition here, and then we get into the chorus, which really sounds okay. However, the excessive use of the word “back” really threw me off. I liked the rap and that little English monologue. The high note was pretty good as well. But the random guitar moment within the song were deficiently not the best addition for the song. However, the vocals were pretty good, much better than Going Crazy.

That setting seems familiar, firstly. Oh wait, wasn’t that where SHINee used to perform Lucifer? Their fashion is okay (beside those red outfits), but was that red hair guy wearing lipstick? Like seriously? Personally, like the rainbow guy’s hair much more than the others. I am definitely not keen on that blur frame that had going out through the whole video. Is it me or that this music video seemed really under budget? They used a school gym for one of the scenes and had horrible lighting for most of the video. So yeah, not that pleasant for the music video.

The dance is pretty good, and to hear that the main dancer of the group had choreographed the whole song, was pretty amazing. Something I would’ve expected from Taeyang from Big Bang or Eunhyuk from Super Junior. The dance fitted the feel and the beat of the song.

5/10. Quite unsure about this comeback, despite the fact that I was looking forward to the “Come Back”. (I also apologise. I could not get an official live performance video. KBS has not uploaded anything yet :()

Man In Love – Infinite

Source: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-oPqNfgoeQUU/UUqNN-drRPI/AAAAAAAARH8/VJpTwu55oY4/s1600/infinite+man+in+love+mv+screencap+1.JPG

Infinite has finally made their comeback with Man In Love which is a much different approach to their strong, powerful chorography image that they usually have. It has been nearly a year, since their last release of The Chaser and Sunggyu’s solo, 60 Seconds and Infinite H at the start of the year with Special Girl. Woah, that is a lot of songs, from just one band in a one year period. Oh wait, I forgot B.A.P. Sorry *derp face*

The song was not expected at all. I was expecting something along the lines of The Chaser, Paradise or Be Mine. Instead we got some kind of cute aegyo style song from the boys, somewhat similar to their debut song. They brought us back tot he original pop era, like the 2000’s and that is pretty cool, as they always do. It took me a few listens to get used to the song. I don’t like the start that much. If it was a live band, the intro would’ve been amazing. But the intro sounds really modern and computer-like feel to it. The verses were okay, but did not stand out too well. The chorus too seemed that well. The raps are pretty cool, and stands out the most in the song for me. Okay, I will just say this: the song, overall is okay. It is definitely not the best, but okay.

The music video is quite interesting? I don’t know if the right word was used. We see a bunch of guys in love with a girl and want to please or surprise the girl. Let’s go in order, the first guy (sorry, i don’t his name) is madly in love with hat cat, not a girl. Woohyun, is kind of in love with someone (that bear at the end?) and plays the piano horribly (Guess the music industry is not for you, mate). Myungsoo, seems to be madly with the idea of love or his cell phone  In a casual class  all he thinks about is love. Kind of freak hey? That guy who cooks can’t actually cook. Yeah, last time I checked, there are no apples whatsoever in a recipe for fortune cookies. Dongwoo, creates a library out of the hall way, don’t know how that symbolises love, but hey, I just hope no one lives above that library of his. Sunggyu, seems to be the most convincing.  Hoya, on the other is the most awkward one. He goes into a store, embarrasses himself by trying out clothing and ends up buying a necklace, which for some reason does not try on. But beside being comical, I liked this video.

The dance was okay. Nothing major, expect for that part where Hoya and Dongwoo has towards the end. It looked cool. The dance was not overly complicated and shall not be known as a difficult dance, like what the guys have done before.

7/10. Okay, I guess, but could’ve been loads better.

In Front Of The Mirrior – GLAM

Source: http://b.vimeocdn.com/ts/428/975/428975236_640.jpg

GLAM recently finished promoting I Like That which came out at the very start of the year. Now they are back with another unexpected song. In Front of the Mirror is a very slow song compared to their other releases  but still has their uniqueness within it.

This is not their best song. I just want to get it off my chest. I am not exactly fond of this song at all. It is slow and kind of loopy doo for me. I prefer a more powerful and dominate image of the group than this. They say this song is part hip hop, part trot. I don’t really see the trot part of this song. Nor do I really see the hip hop part as well, since this supposedly has trot in it. However, beside this internal conflict, I really like the vocals in this song. The rap, however, does not fit in with the song that much. But overall, I thought it was okay.

The music video is quite interesting. It talks, like the lyrics, about the trouble the girls go through to be pretty and socially acceptable. They have to wear high heels to boost up their height, have to where fake breast pads (sorry, I don’t know the technical term for it), wear fake wigs to look good, and wear completely tight clothing to make body stand out. But only to go home to feel insecure. Despite all of this talk, I felt the lighting of the music video not quite right. It feels warm and fuzzy. While the song does give off this feeling, the message of the song does not. But beside that, the music video is quite good. I am just going to wonder: the guy at the end. Is he their actual manager or just an actor?

The dance is pretty okay as well. Nothing as spectacular as I Like That or Party XXO. But I guess if will be sufficient for a comeback just right after their previous promotional, so they probably did not have much time to learn a much harder choreography.

As the whole review say, okay for all aspects. 6.5/10.

Oops! – G.Na

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/gna_teaser.jpg

G.Na is finally back with a new song after nearly a year of absence from the stage. Just last year she promoted 2Hot, which was a rocking song. This is a different side of her, from what was a powerful and dominate feel to a more vulnerable, aegyo and  much sexier feel.

This song talks about the feelings which an older women has for a younger man. The meaning of the lyrics for this song, I don’t think have not appeared much elsewhere in the KPOP industry, so this idea is pretty unique. The piano introduction was pretty interesting. G.Na sounds pretty good and Ilhoon does as well. The only problem is that, this song sounds more a like a duet between the two rather than one singer featuring in the other’s song. Ilhoon’s parts are really scattered around the song, and I guess it can also be described as icing sugar on a cake. Scattered everywhere, but sounds (or taste?) like perfection. But this is not the best song from G.Na. It is not her. I prefer a more dominate G.Na who sounds much passionate, not an innocent figure.

The music video is okay, I guess. There is nothing much to say about the music video at all. When I first saw the music video, I literally thought she was naked. I blame the nude colour of the shirt she was wearing. I found Ilhoon’s appearance in the music video quite distracting for some reason. I also thought the cat scene was kind of random as well. They always seemed to reuse B.A.P’s No Mercy foil background. And my last complaint: I found the club scene, really something that should not have been in the music video. It does not reflect the feel of the song or the previous parts, which were all white. But let’s end this part on a good note: I love G.Na’s new read hair. I think it suits her really well.

The live is okay, Ilhoon seems to do a bit of exercise running around the stage and seems to also be taking after JunHyung who also does some running on stage. It seems the dance fits the feel of the song quite well, giving it that extra innocent touch.

5/10. It is okay, but it is not the best song out there at this very moment.

Expectation – Girl’s Day

Source” http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/girlsday_expect1.jpg

The girls are finally back a new, sexy single, Expectations. This is a song that tells of a girl who chases or tries to grab the attention of a guy. Ever since that one member (Sorry, I don’t remember any of their names) left, the girls have been taking a totally different approach to the music scene, through more mature and sexy type of songs. I may need to catch my breath for this song.

The song was a really good song. The introduction was pretty cool, launching the song into who knows the level of popularity. The verses were pretty good and then the chorus came. Yep, that chorus is worth a million dollars. Definitely the greatest part and the highlight of the song. The rap was also superb and it actually fitted the pace of the song. It carried out the song quite well, and overall from start to finish, I enjoyed listening to this song. I don’t think there is much autotune in this song, but those autotune parts just before the chorus sound so good. The instrumental is kind of hard to explain, since it does not really seem to fit any type of instrument, but hey, it rocks my boat.

The music video is pretty okay. The places where they dance, with the big screen, looks spectacular. As for that guy. You lean in for a kiss but then pull away when your phone buzz. Are they trying to say that the guy is cheating on the girl? Right in front of her? PLAYER!!! Obviously, she is heartbroken, but to the point where the other members have to rub their bodies against a window for her is kind of a bit lame.  So in response, she dresses up as a sexy diva and grabs the attention of the guy. I am a guy, and I have one thing to say. If you dress up as a sexy diva, throw you ring into a lemonade cup, and EXPECT him to follow you, then surely he is not one to keep. That means he will only love you for your looks, not for your personality and all kind of crap could happen afterwards.

The live is pretty cool as well. I am not fans of them live, but the dance was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Look at all of that butt action, look at all of that bending over. Look at all of that “Draw me like a French Lady” poses. I really love the hand action (insert inappropriate jokes here) AROUND the breasts and the air humps they make. Seriously guys, look at these girls. However I have to complaints: a) Why overalls? Why overalls in short shorts? and b) what is with a large amount of make-up on their faces, they look good with minimal makeup on them.

8.5/10. Girl’s Day better win an award for this song (but that is impossible, with the comebacks that are scheduled).

Miss Right – Teen Top

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/teentop_dance.jpg

Teen Top has finally made their comeback with a new song. It has the potential to be like Crazy which won and top charts, however it is a horrible time to make a comeback since SHINee and Infinite are all making their comeback.  But nevertheless, the song still maintains the high standard which their previous songs have given them.

Okay, this song is not the best from Teen Top at all. It is okay, but it does not show much of their talent. The song overshadows their singing talent and rap talent. Those “LaLaLa” parts were so annoying and after listening to the song, not much has changed. The chorus was okay, but it was not as good. This song seems to be more Changjo dominated than another of the members. The instrumental was okay, but it was not the best thing out there. The raps seems to be the minority in the song. You listen to C.A.P and L.Joe rap once and that is about it. They don’t open their mouth or anything at all for the rest of the song. Ricky does not get much lines as well. Chunji and Niel seems to have the same amount of lines and Changjo just dominates the song. Overall, the song was okay, but could’ve have been better.

The music video is enough evidence that this song is meant to be that the song has a fun concept. But I don’t understand why they dress up in black, it kind of counterbalances your idea of having fun. Their jail theme is kind of weird  I am not even sure if weird is the right word. To me, it does not fit in with the concept. They seem to have fun perving on this girl and sent to jail for no apparent reason. And what is with their jail names? They seemed to be those random password generators that came up with the names. Also, the music video had a small amount of brightness, it seemed a tad dark didn’t it?

The live is pretty good.  No complaints for the dance at all. The dance fits the feel of the song and the dance is quite imaginative and creative.

5.5/10. Okay, but it could’ve have been better.

Turtle – Davichi

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/Hyoyoung3.jpg

Davichi made their comeback with a new song called “Take a Drink Together”, however today we will be reviewing Turtle, a song that was pre-released ahead of their new album. Awesome. I am not really a big fan of them, but this song has a really cool message and sounds really good. Too much information? Keep reading the review. (I apologize for this review being like 2 days late_

This song is really deep. Its lyrics describe the pace of the aftermath of a relationship ending as slow as a Turtle walk. Seriously  I have never thought of it that way before in my life and after witnessing many of my friends (forever alone) break up, it does go as slow as a Turtle. I really like the vocals that this duo is known for and it fits the song quite well. I have no complaint about the song, it is just perfect. It is not too slow (-cough- Justin Timberlake – cough-) and i felt the song was positively portrayed. The piano has a great feel to the song and overall, I was satisfied.

The music video was really well done. It had some kind of Alice In Wonderland theme to it. I really liked it. The music video itself tells of a different story to the music video from my point of view, but at the same time, it compliments the music video really well.  The pink haired girl is kind of creepy though, but it seems quite cool. But that pink fluffy passage seems quite suspicious. Firstly it seems she is in a forest in the middle of nowhere, so that is quite suspicious. She acts as if she does not know anything which confuses me. And that guy, is seriously creepy. But overall, beside feeling creped out, this music video is really cool. I like how they used really soft lights at the night time and the colour blends well.

There is no complaint for the live at all.

7.5/10. Really good.

Just Go – Rania

Source: http://cdn.popdust.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/RaNia-Just-Go-Feature.jpg

Rania has finally made their long awaited comeback with a cool freaking song. Known for their outgoing sexual dances and songs, it seems that the girls have matured and toned the level of sexiness with this song. Move along rookie status, because these girls are here to stay. No ifs and not buts. I should be a salesperson, shouldn’t I?

Just Go, to me is the average pop song. To me, there is no difference between this song and let’s say Lady Gaga’s Telephone or Rihanna Like A Diamond. This song does seem average, but still is quite rocking. This is a song that I would hear from a very mature group but from a group that had their share of the “experience”. But beside all of that, the instrumental is pretty cool for this song. Minus the autotune, the vocals in this song is really good. I really find the chorus really catchy and thier use of English fits the feel of the song quite well, actually. I particularly love the line “Goodbye is the new hello”. Arghh, so cool. And this song actually has no rap. I am amazed. Wow.

Yeah, first thing first, those letters at the start. Crap editing. Seriously. I like what they did with the colours, but how they placed it in the music video seemed rushed. I actually like the whole set, from where they stand and look pretty and the areas where they dance. But I don’t get that guy. He does not look like a player. Judging from this appearance, I think they chose the wrong guy to play that role, especially since he looks like he is in his late thirties and at the same time has a moustache. That scene where the girl is running down the street and at the end where she stops and looks down seems quite random in the context of the music video, but hey, it makes it looks good.

The dance is not sexual as like Masquerade or Pop Pop Pop. But this song still has a lot of ass rubbing and rubbing on guys, and rubbing in general. But hey, rubbing is the new trend. And what is with Rania and hip movements? I am concerned.

7.5/10. Pretty good.

Standing Still – UKISS

Source: http://www.mtvk.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/k_ukiss_standing-still-mv.png

UKISS is finally back with another song. For fans, it seems like it has been forever, but for people like me and possibly you, it has only been 6 months since the last comeback. Despite many “experts” saying that UKISS will finally win an award this year, and the fact that the “3 year, no award” disbandment rumours in the air, this is a really good song. However I, myself, a fan of UKISS, am a bit sceptical if they would win with this song (but mind you, 5 times the chances of winning an award starting April). But anyway, let’s carry on.

The song is pretty good. However, every time I listen to this song, I feel that there is something missing. I think Stop Girl was a much more dominant song than this. This song, some reason, sounds good, but does not sound as good as their previous songs. Once again, Dongho and Kiseop gets the shorter stick out of the 7 members. Is it me or in the song and music video, Dongho always gets the least amount of lines? Isn’t he the rapper of the group as well? Why does he not get any rap lines? But anyway, I think the vocals in the song are pretty good. As always, Hoon, Kevin and Soohyun always get the most lines. The rap, done by Eli and AJ, was really well done. I could feel the emotion within the song. The English particularly makes sense and actually fits the song quite well. There is no “Joom Joom my heart like a locket” lyrics here.

As for the music video, I am quite disappointed. WHAT THE HELL NH MEDIA? With a song like this, you really don’t make the music video look good? Seriously, with a group as big as UKISS, I actually expect more of the better type of music video. Here is a bunch of guys just dancing in what seems to be an abandoned building. Oh wait, that sounds so familiar. Oh guess what, UKISS used the same concept in terms of their music video for Believe. And also, what is the hell with the girl? Despite, staring into the camera, the girl served on purpose what so ever in the music video. She did not contribute anything to the plot (if there was one) or the actual dance. Oh, and her contact lenses are really strong. They scared me.

The live is okay. The dance is not really as epic as their other dances like Neverland or Man Man Hi Ni. Despite that though, it looks like the guys have taken a fresh approach upon the dance and have gone for a much sexier dance (that mirrors DoraDora).

7/10. It was okay, however it could’ve been loads better. If it can win an award, we have to give that decision to their fans. No pressure.

It’s Over – Lee Hi

Source: http://www.billboard.com/files/styles/promo_650/public/media/lee-hi-650-430.jpg

Lee Hi has made her long awaited comeback after around a 4-5 month break from the industry. Last time it was 1,2,3,4 and now it is It’s Over. Seriously, this is one cute song with one cute music video.  Unfortunately she does not perform on Inkigayo until Sunday. The thing is, I am typing this on the 15/03/2013, which means I write these reviews way in advanced. Let’s continue, because I have dying to write something about this song’s music video.

Lee Hi achieved a lot of success with 1,2,34, earning her the top spot on her actual debut stage (She is the first artists to do that) and also (I think) the first rookie to achieve an all kill and a triple crown on MCountdown. Anyway, this song does carry over her vocal talent from her previous single. However, from my eyes, this song is actually more performance/dance base than vocal talent. She is moving a lot more than what she did for 1,2,3,4. Actually, now I think I am going off topic. Anyway, the song is pretty superb. I was not a fan of the retro sound which she went for in 1,2,3,4. However this song really changed me. I like her voice. The lyrics are meh, for me (To be honest, I skimmed through the lyrics). I only listened to this song for voice and the instrumental. Overall pretty good.

The music video was so cute. But that blue bear really needs someone to cheer him up. Have you seen his facial expression? It is like an angry bear’s face. Hahahahaha. I kid. No, but that bear, while this music video is so cute, is quite a let down. but how the bear (cough-the-person-cough) dances around is so cute. YG did the right thing to include the bear, without it, the music video would be quite plain and really would not be appealing at all. I would like you to refer to 0:50. Did he drop Lee Hi? And not only that, but did he drop that pink teddy bear? The one he was nurturing a moment ago? At 1:45, I now know what truly happened to my big bowl of jelly babies. 1:52, where he throws the shopping trolley down, because Lee Hi was making funny of his fat tummy. Who wouldn’t? So overall, I am trying to say that this music video is hilarious because of the bear. But beside that, my complaint is how random the rest of the costumes are. Seriously? Ice-cream?  Cereal Box? And there are also back up yoga dancers? WTF?

Okay, even though this song is dance heavy, I find it quite basic and quite boring. It is nothing much considering other artists at the moment. However, it is much better to see her move more than 1,2,3,4. I think if this dance was more complex, than it would’ve ruined the whole song. So pretty cool. Oh the cute bear.

Opps (G.Na reference), forgot to rate the song. I give it a 7.5/10.

Don’t Want To Be An Idol – VIXX

Source: http://www.allkpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/130107_vixx_dontwanttobeanidol.jpg

VIXX pre-released “Don’t Want To Be An Idol” ahead of their release of their third single. This song has a much different feel to their promotional track, and also has a total different feel from Rock Ur Body and Super Hero, released during their debut year. Out of all of their songs released since debut, and including all of the songs that have been released this year already, “Don’t Want To Be An Idol” is one of the most outstanding yet.

First of all, this song brings out all of their vocal talents. No rap is needed to make a good song, unless you are a hip-hop or rap group/artist. But beside that, I really enjoyed this song. The song was soft and mellow, and sounds really good. Most Korean songs, including the ones I like a pretty hard to follow at first, but after listening to this song once, I quite enjoyed it and actually felt the emotion in their vocals. Actually no artist is actually able to do that to me expect for Brown Eyed Girls, Adele and Owl City. I guess you can say that this song was not expected from VIXX at all. Really good.

9/10. This is a really good song from a seriously underrated group.

Tell Me Tell Me – Rainbow

Source: http://mithunonthe.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/rainbow-tellmetellme-dance-outfits-mv-screencap.jpg

The girls are back with another song after a year and a bit. It has been a very long time since their last song, which I think is To You (please correct me if I am wrong). I don’t follow the band, but I really thought they were quite horrible, until this song came out.

The song is pretty cool. Though I am not the type to fall for the aegyo type of song, this one is an exception. There was definitely a bit of sexiness within the song. I am not sure what it is, but there was something that sets this song different from other songs. Anyway, the use of violins in this song is pretty cool. I think that won me over. Beside the instrumental, this song divides rap and vocal sequences quite well. There was 3 rap parts to the song, while other songs only tend to have one part. So pretty good.

The music video to me was a let down. I was not quite happy with it and it did not live to its standard that it set. I actually think A and To You were much better music videos than this. It is them dancing and close ups and quite a few scenes of them waiting for their boyfriends or something. Not really the best music video in my point, but I guess it will do well.

The dance is quite cool, but I found it .quite repetitive. There was not much of a change throughout the song, particularly the chorus part. They are meant to make the song look good, but with the same dance, it kind of bores the person to death.

8/10. It was a pretty strong comeback to be honest. Pity it did not win any awards (yet, since MBC and SBS plan to bring the ranking and award system back in the coming weeks).

Safety Zone – DMTN

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/012913_dmtn_safetyzone.jpg

DTMN (Formerly known as Dalmatian) came back with Safety Zone last month. Different from their past hits, this song and single takes a different approach. This song, to me, focused heavily on vocals and rap, unlike ER which focused a tiny bit more on dance. For me, this comeback seemed like a fail. Not only were they unable to rank properly on the charts, they were given the big whoop from music programs, where their song was the only song that was shortened, when I thought other bands would be.

The song was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. Do you understand? This song had the addictive beat, the catchy chrous, the really cool instrumental. The first few seconds were amazing with the piano beat. The opening lines added extra impact from Simon with his voice. The song is much slower than their previous song which is pretty amazing. I love the use of English in this song, it makes total sense when the song has something with the Safety Zone. Simon’s little rap sequence towards the end gave the final blow (o.O), adding the biggest of impacts a person can receive after listening to a song. The only thing is, the song got pretty boring for me, after a while. Another complaint for the English translation ins Simon’s part, I am sure he said “I am in the safety zone” whereas the music video from Leon Ent claims he said “I mean the safety zone“. Confusing. Overall, it was pretty good.

Yeah, the song is okay, but the music video is quite something to talk about more in depth. It definitely fitted the song’s slowness. However, that girl is technically creepy. No one sits in a club and stares at a girl who keeps on disappearing, while there are other people dancing around you. And the fact that you managed to keep your eyes focused on the exact some spot the whole time, when there are people moving about, is pretty hardcore. And also, point 1:23. Wasn’t that guy just running from down towards the camera? Why is he now running backwards? Why God Why? That dramatic scene where the guy enters and help his friend out is pretty cool, with the instrumental and all of that. But seriously, with that scene, why am I doubting the message of the song? You see, they are seeing at a girl, but after that scene, it seems the boys were singing to each other. “I tried to stop you when you already left“. It fits the context of the video. And that girl, why are you crying? You boyfriend/lover is getting bashed up, and you are sitting there crying? Why not run for it, after all he is trying to save you? Or better struggle? Yell? Eat something? Just do something more interesting than thinking “Oh well, my hero is going to die, better just live with these smelly kidnappers than”.

The live is pretty good. I am quite surprised because the dance from this group always surprises me but this time around they had went with a slower approach which fit the song quite well.

7.5/10. Overall, pretty good.

PS. In regards to Daniel’s marijuana case, I do hope everything will be okay for him and the band. It would be a pity to see a ripe band go like that. Hopefully he will get through everything okay. All the people I have heard from are quite supportive of him. Hwaiting~

One Shot – B.A.P

B.A.P is back (once again) with another song that revisits their debut roots. Not more cutey ageyo style, but a more masculine, manlier, hardcore comeback. I really cannot give you any more to the introduction than what I have already, So lets focus on Himchan. Seriously, at first I though this guy would make no difference in the group. Boy was I wrong, when I first saw the band perform as a five, I thought something was missing. Himchan, get better. I think your group misses performing with you.

The song is definitely similar to Warrior, Power and No Mercy. However like those three songs, it stands out in the crowd. To me, this song is a winner, because of the rocking instrumental, the deep-as rap and the power vocals. I guess they just did not see SHINee come back? Or Sistar19? Or CN Blue? I guess. But hey, let’s focus on B.A.P. The song, to me, is such a fantastic song. The start of it gives us to some mysterious, but epic introduction, somewhat like what Nilli Mambo had in store for us. BYG’s rap was the deepest of raps that I have heard. Then we get to Himchan’s part, which sounds kind of odd at first, because out of all the songs, his part sounds the most awkward. Then  we go to Jongup, who picks the song up once again leading into the mother of epic chorus to date. Seriously  get your vocal cords checked out Daehyun, last thing we all want is to see you losing your voice. Zelo and Youngjae also sound quite superb. Oh, and the push up dance instrumental was the beats part of the song.

The music video was somewhat pretty good. It kind of confused me a bit, towards the end. Yeah, TS Ent, I see your troll face. I see what you love doing. One moment, Youngjae dies, the next he is a police officer. Make sense. Why did I not think of that? LOL Anyway, beside that little moment at the end, I thought the plot was much solid. All I want to know, is why Youngjae kidnapped? And why BYG did not notice something strange when Youngjae was putting something in your bag? And the awkwardness between the two in that scene. But beside that, I think the music video is solid. It fits the song and its power. B.A.P you ahve done it once again (just don’t give alternative endings, it confuses the eff out of me)

The dance is really powerful. The chrous kind of looked weak, but that push up dance at the end of each chorus, was superb. Fits the feel of the song.

8.5/10. Really impressed.

It’s Over – SPEED (Dance Ver.)

Speed made their debut as a group with an original song in January. For this review, I will be reviewing the song and dance only. Sadly, CCM has a trend with making long as music videos. Due to time constraints and that I too need a life (but don’t have one…) cannot write a 1000 word rreview on the music video. If I do one part, that means I have to write the review for the other half. That you may think is easy, however, do you know how many times that I take to write a review? Minimum 20 minutes, maximum a week. 🙂

It’s Over is completely different song and has a completely different feel to Lovey Dovey, which they remade last year. It’s Over is more of a techno track, as evident with its electro beat in the song. The instrumental is totally epic, as it fits and the dance. The addition of the girl’s voice at the start makes the song much better than what it is before. The chorus is pretty catchy, but to me quite repetitive .  The girl’s addition towards the end kind of throws me off, as it makes the intense song end abruptly, which to me, does not sound good. However, overall I was quite pleased with the song.

The dance is really cool. I think whenever I here this particular song or a song with a much similar beat, I would probably break down into this tutting dance. However, I will look like a guy with some kind of movement issue, so I don’t think I would now. But how epic is the dance, the tuts are so in sync and I think they make prefect right angles. A++++. The intro for each week changes, and to me, makes the whole song look fresh.

7.5/10. Pretty good.
