Doom Dada – T.O.P (Big Bang)

Source: http://www.soompi.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/TOP21-800×450.png

Now it is T.O.P’s turn. T.O.P has finally returned with a brand new single after absence of like 3 years. It has been sometime since we last heard a song from the man and now we finally get our chance. Being extremely busy with movie roles that he has to pay, T.O.P has literally spiced the stage up with something weird. I am not complaining because I freaking love this song. Let’s just say, it is a tribute to song to his hardcore rapping and extreme creativity. The only live performance was at the MAMA’s last night, and really, he does not really dance that much. So I will be skipping that part all together in the review. But I will put the video of his performance and the Big Bang crew into the playlist for you all.

The song has that exotic feel to it. No one is this world will be able to argue with that. At first, I thought this song would not make it at all, because of the exotic feel. However, the second time listening to it, I figured it is not the instrumental of the song or T.O.P’s rapping style, but rather you have to listen to the whole song together as one to be able to grasp a full understanding of the song. And that understanding is: WEIRD! Like every aspect of this comeback is “not normal”. This song talks about the evolution of the human body. Well, more like the evolution of T.O.P and how he became “hot” and “sexy”. Hell, this song is so catchy and sounds so amazing. Like the “doom da da didi da” was hella catchy. You have got me officially singing this song all day long. The hardcore rapping is amazing. The only problem with the song is one main line: “Long Time No See”. Why? Because to me, the soloist is saying “Long time no shit”. T.O.P, is work that demanding for you? You have got no time to take a dump? Wow!

This music video is so quirky and different, it made me laugh so much. There is most probably a million ways someone can interpret this video. And here is my take on it right now. T.O.P, in ape form, discovers a microphone with his gang. Gang of apes. What? Fast forward a bit and you get T.O.P in his full glory. Then we get T.O.P and the little kid with the massive head. Seriously, I love that little kid. He is basically made the video turn from a boring video into such a funny video. That or T.O.P’s ridiculously motorbike riding style. I am sorry, but if I found out that T.O.P was my chauffeur, I probably take a taxi to my hotel in Korea. I have to say this video was hilarious and a video that I would probably go to when I feel down.

9/10. Excellent and funny. This also takes me to the end of the Big Bang reviews. Now I just need to wait for their single that should be released later this year. You have one month YG, one month.

Who You? – G-Dragon (Big Bang)

G Dragon, who last night won 4 awards at the MAMA awards, recently unveiled his third music video for this latest album. “Who You?” was a just a song I discovered recently that I thought never discover. As you can tell, I never got to sit down and listen to the whole album. Tragic, hey? I know G-Dragon is amazing and has really great songs, but his latest song, Coup D’etat, was not that great from my perspective. Crooked on the other hand was amazing. Okay, review now. But first: as you have noticed, I released Taeyang’s review last night, now its G-Dragon’s review. Tomorrow, it will be T.O.P’s review. Or later today. Not sure. I have commitments after releasing this review, and unsure if I will get around to releasing T.O.P’s review tonight.

Who You? is an amazing song. It has that really popish American feel that I really love, from the late 90’s to the early 2000’s. It has to be one of the best tracks by G-Dragon to date and I cannot form words on my keyboard with my fingers to describe this amazing song. The instrumental has that American feel to it, which makes it sound so memorable. Though I was delayed, I had to replay the song over and over again. The chorus, like Crooked, sounded catchy and was really cool. The piano at the start gave that really fresh feeling to the song and opened the song quite well. The “Du Du Du” part was really catchy and I had it replaying in my head a million times. It was a fun song to listen, which was much different to Coup D’etat which had a obvious serious feel to it, but at the same time was not as crazy as Crayon.

The music video is quite memorable. Who You? music video was filmed using fan’s fancams, which is quite an original idea. But imagine the editing processing, going through how much footage to make it into a video! Not one to complain here. Knowing that it was made from fancams, I can’t really complain about the shakiness of the video. On top of that, I liked the graffiti, however thought it was quite excessive. It was over the windows, and everything inside the enclosure. But I guess it has its charm. Also, I am glad that YG and G Dragon decided to list all of the names at the end. A good 534895634895632 people on that list. Hahahaha… I kid, not that much. But it was very nice of him to include them.

The performance was so so. The dance did not captivate me like the video or the song itself. I also kind of noticed that this choreography was the last one to be thought through, It seemed rush and “un G Dragon like” if you know what I mean.

8/10. Quite good. Now, T.O.P’s review and that one Big Bang single we were promised. Where you at?

Ringa Linga – Taeyang (Big Bang)

rlytbb

Taeyang is finally back with a new solo song since his last promotions of I’ll Be There. Since then, fans have been asking for a comeback of the solo artist. From memory, I think this solo “album” was meant to be released ages ago, like start of last year. However, it was delayed for quite some time. Like, a very long time. Note that I put album in quotation marks, because we were told we were going to get an album, instead we got a single. Not good enough. It also seems that Big Bang is all about solos this year. Daesung, Seungri, G-Dragon, Taeyang and now T.O.P all have released a solo project this year and from what we were all told, a new single of the band as one will be release quite soon. Don’t know when though.

The song is okay. Overall, it was okay to listen to. I have to say, I was expecting something along the lines of “I Want A Girl” or “Only Look At Me”, but instead we got more a hip hop swag battle in this song. The start to me sounds like what you hear when you see the sunrise, which is kind of ironic, since Taeyang means the sun in Korea. But then the chorus, to me was just awful. It had its fame, but in just did not sit well with me. I am not sure if it is Taeyang or if it the lyrics or the instrumental, but it did not go well. Also, congratulations to Taeyang, for learning how to spell your name. Seriously, this song sounds like it was copy and pasted a million times. I did however like the slow ballad parts of the song, which was something that I enjoyed. It matched Taeyang’s voice really well. The ending just had to be the chorus didn’t? Anyway, it was okay to listen to, but as a whole it was quite disappointing.

The music video. Oh geezz…. I guess it is too hot for Taeyang to leave his shirt on. Again. I am not sure about the “art” on his body though. Those big thick black lines on his arms. They look like black duct tape stuck on him. I actually don’t mind the video. Though, yes the sets seem cheap, it fits Taeyang’s image and complimented the song. Not sure about the dreadlocks though. Never am a fan of those, and sadly Taeyang looks kind of awkward in it. Mohawk, I guess is the best. I love the glow in the dark shirts. That looks awesome and really fitted with YG’s fresh style. The ending scene was kind of weird. It seemed like the spinning top thing was distracting. Also, the amount of foreigners in this song was kind of weird. It was great, but it seemed like they brought a whole different image into the music video, which kind of sucked it a bit. But hey, I like the music video, so I won’t be complaining as much.

The dance is still pretty cool. Taeyang will always live up to his standard as the one of the best dancers in KPOP and it seems like he showed the exact same standard in this song. Not disappointed here. Linked in the playlist below is the dance version, which was released first, and it was an amazing video to watch. Dare I say, much better than the music video though.

5/10. Okay comeback, did not live up to its hype for me. Maybe, this year is just not YG’s year.

Crooked – G-Dragon (Big Bang)

Source: http://i1.wp.com/24-7kpop.COM/wp-content/uploads/2013/09/G-Dragon.png?resize=770%2C472

G-Dragon recently returned with his latest two part album. Previously, we have already reviewed Coup D’etat which did not do well in terms in the review. However, while that was the title song on the first part of the album, the second part of the album was  much better and the song will be getting a much better review. I think he already has won 2 awards for this song, as it gets confusing because like all of his tracks are on the charts and when they say “G Dragon won this week’s award”, it is not exactly that we won that award for Coup D’etat or Crooked. I am sure Black and some other song are on the charts as well. Now many people are saying this and honestly I think too, but is it me or YG is having a lot of flops this year. It seems like Big Bang is the only thing now YG has up his sleeve to gain back the crowd. SM has taken over the scene a lot.

The song is definitely much better than Coup D’etat. Way better. I love the pop feel this song carries and also that hint of sadness that you can hear in the song. The song is very modern. As soon as I heard G-Dragon singing, it seemed pretty cool. The chorus is pretty catchy, being the highlight of the song for me. Not technically fond of the verse, but loving the moments before the chorus which G Dragon sings. Honestly, I think this song will do well as a club song. Imagine all the people jumping around to the music, not knowing what it even means. That little vocal part at the end was pretty amazing as well. Pretty good for the lead rapper of the band.

The music video is pretty cool as well. We see what seems to be a high end (or try hard or insane partygoer or persistent underage kid) person trying to make his way into the clubs, which of course he is denied. And because of that he gets angry and cries? Throwing a little hissy pissy much? And the crying seemed a little exaggerating, which is quite disappointing but still worked. Not sure about his successive outfit changes in one music video. I counted 18 outfits changes and heck, I am not even at the end of the video. Most of the changes were in the first 1 minute, which is quite a lot of outfits for one video. While counting however, I did notice one scene. GD, are you really pissing on the wall? Cause that is really traumatising. On top of that, we see a neglected GD, where his acting was quite fine. I feel for you mate, if that ever happens to you.

I did not like the live performance that much. Not really impressed with the dance. I was just watching G Dragon’s stage for this song, and wow, I really like it how he actually has a stage made for him only. Pretty amazing.

8/10. Much better than Coup D’etat. Way better. Let’s just wait for more music videos to come out for his other songs. Also, I don’t think I will be reviewing any more G Dragon videos anymore. There are like another two coming out. Have not made an exact decision yet, but it is most likely going that way.

Coup D’etat – G-Dragon (Big Bang)

Source: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-cLxTRX5Vs4E/UiQYRAm44tI/AAAAAAAAVSc/KkC2h8Vy1nM/s1600/gdragon-coup-d’etat-mv-screencap-2.PNG

The leader of Big Bang is back with this second album, Coup D’etat. One of the title songs used from this album is Coup D’etat. As you can see this song is exactly the albums name and also the focus on today’s review. After a successful run of promotions last year with his singles Crayon, That XX and One Of A Kind ; and Seungri’s Gotta Talk To You, he is back to rock the stage with his new songs. With this, Taeyang  will soon be having his comeback and Big Bang had just announced that they will be returning in October with a new single. Looks like YG will be very busy when it comes to the end of the year.

The song is quite boring. Honestly, I don’t think this song should be receiving the attention it is getting. There are much better songs out there at the moment, that deserve the level attention that this song is getting.  On top of that, I found the song quite unappealing. I listened to it once, never actually ever touched it again. It is lacking quite a bit and really does not live up to its standard that Crayon had set. It does mildly epic for a small amount of time. Okay, I am not a big fan of hip hop, but this song is rather slow and disappointing. Also that part where he incorporates part of Crayon into the song, seems like he borrowed off a successful song and just carried it over. This rapping skills in this song aren’t that great compared to much better song Crooked.

As for the music video, YG always does best to mash up a whole heap of different scenes that make no sense whatsoever. I get some bits with the gun wound part, the laundry house scene (which looks quite like a kitchen to me) as their are direct references to the song. But the scenes where he is a ninja at the end and the scene with him taking off his mask, kind of confused me a little bit. Maybe I am not looking into it hard enough, but it really throws me off. Oh and where are the controversies with his “taking the mask off his face” scene? Usually there would’ve been a lot of criticisms about that, but where have they gone. He uploaded a picture once like that, which made people angry. So where are those angry people?

The dance, yeah, not as great and energetic as Crayon. And what is with YG or G-Dragon’s favourite thing about his backup dancers? The faces are so not covered in this performance (Note Sarcasm was used here). I am just watching MNET’s performance, and there seemed to be inefficient lighting. Planned or a mistake made by the broadcaster, but it looks like G Dragon relied on the candles in front him. And what was the final scene for? Kind of scary though. Hahahahahaha…. G Dragon, why do you always give me nightmares?

1/10. Mildly better that CL’s song though, but still not appealing and I am very disappointing.

Gotta Talk To U – Seungri (Big Bang)

Source: http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/20131908_seoulbeats_seungri.png

Seungri has finally made his second comeback as a soloist in 2 years, with Gotta Talk To U. His previous songs What Can I Do?, VVIP and Strong Baby have all been hits that topped charts and it seems like this time around Seungri will not break that chain of events. It is refreshing to hear such a calm yet different song from all of the group songs recently. There seems to be a lack of soloist at the moment, with groups such as B.A.P, Girls Day, EXO, F(x), 2NE1, Teen Top, Beast and many other all making their comeback. It has been quite sometime since Big Bang has returned to the stage, GD has made his official comeback last year and Taeyang is due to make his comeback next month, but it seems that I and VIPS out there are all wanting comeback from the band itself.

Seungri sounds amazing in this song. Though it does seem to be those mashup kind of songs with a million genres in one, I really like the song. It has that What Can I Do? feel to the song and the Strong Baby essence as well. It sounds grand and seems like a lot of effort has been put into. I personally only do like this song off the mini album. Yes only this song. The others, Let’s Talk About Love, GG Be and others all sound different, in the sense that it does not carry that Big Bang or Seungri taste. Highlight would have to be the “Hustling” part of the song, it sounds pretty cool. Not the ideal lyrics in my point of view, but hey, they have their charm. I think if I go into any more detail, I would be overlapping with the live perfomance part of the video, but the instrument does carry that “live band” feel to it as well, making it sounding really good.

The music video… was kind of boring. It was not the ideal way I would have thought of how it should’ve gone. It is much better than the box sets from SM though, and it seems like the company knows a professional video and how to make one. However this video seems quite shakey, as in the camera works, which if you want to give your viewers a headache, sure go ahead. But as a music video and to appeal to fans, I would not consider such a thing. As for the glass between the camera and the “person of interest”, yeah, lose it. Those colour light and all of that stuff really prevented me from seeing what I was meant to see. As for the ending of the actual music video: were they like having distant sex or something? Because it seemed a lot like it. Oh and the hard remix of the song at the end video? Lose it. It sounds good, but in the same video, kind of conflicted with the whole video.

The live was pretty cool. There is not much of a dance that we can focus on here, but that band performance was pretty cool. Actually when you watch the video, it is mainly Seungri just jumping and bouncing around the stage. Not in that way, but in a way that it looks cool and “nice”. And those fanchants. Woah, so loud.

7.5/10. Mainly because of the music video, but seriously check the song out.

That XX – G Dragon

Source: http://americankpopfans.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2012/08/08.31-g-dragon-92.jpg

Yay! Another song that has been since forever that was on the list to review. G Dragon released this song separately before releasing his actual album and this song got some light. Although, this is not G Dragon’s best song out there, it is still a good song. But I have been noticing, YG artists have comebacks with more than 1 song, 2NE1, Big Bang, Epik High etc. I am pretty surprised with the amount of effort that YG puts into the comebacks.

First of all, I was blown away with this song. I was completely caught off guard with song (and so were you!). I expected something hip-hopish and we all got some really smooth ballad. Really, G Drgon should just rap and do his crazy stuff, not sing ballads. However this song is pretty good. I did feel his voice a bit awkward in the song and was really held back. I don’t think he poured enough emotion into this song than One Of A Kind or Crayon. This song just sucks compared to the other songs. However, who is comparing this song anyway! This song just alone would be pretty good. I liked the guitar and found the rhythm pretty good. But beside that, I was disappointed in the song. Also, I hated those beeps. I know they are covering up words that should be heard by young people, but seriously? Could they not just found a less hurtful word!

The music video is quite interesting in a way. It was dark, like the song and quite mysterious. The song talks about a guy who follows his girlfriend around and finds that another guy is treating his girlfriend bad. It turns out that “other guy” is actually him and he treats his own girlfriend quite bad. So that is why you see him all sad and sulky and see him looking through some keyholes in the door, as if he is stalking him. The only thing I hated in this whole video is the fcat how they made G Dragon look in the video. firstly, hated the hair, secondly they filmed the face as if the skin was all flaky. Like geez, that is really disgusting.

As the live performance, I found it okay. Nothing bad really. I was just *insert poker face here*. But the guitar was pretty good.

Yeah, okay song, just does not live to the standards of One Of A Kind or Crayon. 6/10.

[Having difficulties trying to link the music video in. will do after exams]

One Of A Kind – G Dragon

Source: http://img.ohkpop.com/2012/08/25/Oi27vI89.jpg

Released late last August, and currently it is October. How do you know I am good with my dates! LOL. Anyway, at first I did not want to review this song, because when it comes to G Dragon’s solos, I really cannot be stuffed with it. However I decided, why not! So yeah, I am basically a month and a bit delayed. Ohh well, at least I have it on the site now, that is good. This was the first of the 3 songs that were “promoted” by G Dragon on SBS. This song soon followed by That XX and Crayon, all three with a different style and mojo.

Well, definitely as soon as you are listening to this song, you can hear a hip beat. It is much different from his Heartbreaker days, or any of the things that he had in mind for the album or anything to do with Big Bang. I guess, it is the side that represents him the most, except for being crazy. It is kind of slow like other hip hop songs, but at the same time still has the feel as a rap and breakdancing kind of feel to it. Oh did I forget to mention SWAG!!! It is what G Dragon does the best anyway. I guess this song title can be related by everyone, but I am not sure if this song is to represent everyone else, which is why I guess the title of the song would be misleading in a way. I describes him, and only him since he is “One Of A Kind”.

The music video is quite like Crayon, except for the craziness. This music video has more of a serious feel to it, rather than a “Get your Crayon” style of crazy. Taeyang features in this music video. There is a lot of G Dragon being crazy as well, anyway, especially evident through the craziness to smash many glass cases that may have contained really expensive clothes. But beside that, I think the music video matched the feel of the song. Especially with the girls, at the Hello~ parts. 😉

Anyway the live performance is a lot like the dance in the music video. But beside that, I am not really that happy or disappointed.

I am only gonna give this song a 7/10. It is not really that good if you compare it to Crayon.

Monster – Big Bang

Song

I must admit, this is not one of their best songs. It really is not really up there considering their past songs. I guess the only thing that makes it stand out, is its catchy beat and the chorus. It does have a good, solid meaning behind it, that guys (or Big Bang, in this case) are not hideous monsters when it comes to love. Yeah, I only found the English in the chorus catchy. I also really love that off-tune note near the end. It was definitely the highlight of the song, and actually suited the style of the song. The vocals were alright, but that rap at the very end (or was it just GD  murmuring?) did not really blend in with the sound of the song. Not my favourite song.

Music Video

I really liked the special effects that were used on the faces and the eyes in this music video. It is kind of cool. The things I hate about this video is the slow-motion parts and the Taeyang’s Sushi hair. Yes, you know what I mean about the hair. Yeah, not cool and won’t be a trend with the idols and KPOP singers. And with slow-motion cameras, they are kind of boring. SM uses them so much, so it is draining. But beside that I have nothing to complain about. Expect for the fact that Big Bang is singing in a war field. But yeah, it was good.

Live Performance

There is no official Korean performance that I am aware of, but there was a Japanese performance. It was good, but the only flaw I saw was Daesung’s nose piercing (also seen in the music video) and that off-tune note at the end. It is really hard to make the performance flawless for this song, I guess.

And The Rating?

Not really the best, but it was okay. 6.5/10.

Have Fun Watching. Troy 😀

Live Performance – Japanese Version:

Music Video – Korean Version:

Fantastic Baby – Big Bang

Song

“Wow~, Fantastic Baby.” If you have heard this song, then this line would have probably been stuck in your mind as well. Big Bang has taken these three simple words and have jammed my memory with it. All I can do after listening to a song is say “Wow~ Fantastic Baby.”

Now this song really does not focus on vocals or rapping that much unlike Blue or Bad Boys. This song is just a simple dance track like Last Farewell/Baby Baby. It is more of a visual and to show how much Big Bang has changed.

I really quite enjoyed Daesung’s bit in the song with the really high and long note, GD’s ending of the song and GD’s “Catch Me On Fire” in the live performances. Not at the start of song but at the end of song. Also I thought T.O.P’s rap had a different feel to it especially with the emphasis at the end of each line or verse. Taeyang showed great vocals and Seungri, well was more visual than vocals in this song.

Music Video

Again this is dance like music video because the song suggest this theory. I don’t understand how the riots in the music video reflects the dance theme of the song. Anyway, each of the members are kings in their own palace. GD has some long hair and trashy make-up. Later in the video, GD’s hair is shorter and make-up is much neater, suggesting he got out the place which he must have stayed for some long period of time. Taeyang was frozen up and he soon thawed to escape his closure. Daesung was bound by chains and soon released himself from his dungeon. T.O.P was stuck in these picture frames and also escaped from his “picture” self. Seungri was trapped by girls who scratched him? Yeah, not so sure on Seungri’s part of the music video there.

Anyway, as you read above, each member has their own reasons to escape from these conditions which they have all been (except for Seungri). But in the end, with those on their side in the riots dance in celebration. Yeah, sounds like a a bunch of teenagers who are grounded but slowly sneaked their way out of their parents sight to go this dance party.

Live Performance

I must say, these performances must be the most epic performances ever. Every stage is different and you can definitely tell by the stage and effects that YG Entertainment is investing a lot of money into this group. I love the dance for this song but unfortunately have forgotten the name of the dance. Something like windscreen wipers?

And The Rating?

Under the new system I would give this song a 9.3 out of 10.

Have Fun Watching. Troy. 😀

Bad Boy – Big Bang

Song

At first, the teaser did not live up to the standards of Big Bang’s previous hits like Haru Haru, Lies, Love Song, Tonight, Love Song etc. However now, I love this song because I am listening it in a whole. The teaser still is boring a plain. There is nothing I can say about this song, this song does take it back to its good old days with hip hop. I quite enjoyed this song. Even though it is much different to the rest of the album, I say it is really good. Well, there is still one more complaint from me. When Taeyang sings “My La-La-Lady~”, it felt awkward and did not fit the rest of the song. Yeah, my thoughts. Don’t Kill Me.

Music Video

In Blue we see all the members have a relationship with one girl. Now in a matter of days, Big Bang is finally in a relationship again but with their own girlfriends and have also broken up with them. Question Big Bang: Why are you bad with girls? Tonight, Love Song, Blue, Bad Boy, What Can I Do, Heartbreaker, Only Look At Me. Yeah, trend going on here. I know the producers come up with a different plot each time but this trend is a bit boring for me. Same thing all over again. Now something I love about this music video. They filmed this in New York.  I really love new York. Even though I had never been there, but its scenery is pretty awesome. The whole back streets of New York setting in this music video sums up the whole music video experience. And also, it is currently nearly the end of winter there. Don’t Big Bang feel cold, especially Taeyang. The others are wearing jackets (expect Daesung. He was wearing short sleeves.). But Taeyang was wearing no sleeves at all. Poor Taeyang.

Live Performance

I am not entirely happy at all with the live performances in general. One of the stages which I’ll embed into the post below was a, I dunno, too small. Yeah, really not a good place to dance to this song. There is a lot of hand action (Insert Dirty Jokes Here) in the performance, so there is nothing to comment on.

And The Rating?

Great song, Great music video. It lives to its standards. 9/10.

Have Fun Watching. 😀 Troy.

Blue – Big Bang

Song

Is anyone else excited for their comeback? I think everyone is. I absolutely am anticipating their comeback and new concept/ style.  The teasers are rocking and very nice. Thierlatest song they released (Blue) is really nice. I don’t know for sure but I have a feeling this song reflects what happened to them in the past 8 months – 1yr. Amazing. I absolutely love this song. However it kin of uses the same outline as Love Song. Daesung still has 2 parts, T.O.P has 1 rap part. GD gets the most line. Taeyang is the last singer to be introduced the song and Seungri starts the chorus. Also comparing Love Song & Blue, the “I hate this love song” is the same as “I’m singing my blue~”. But beside that part, this song really has the blues. It is very nice and soothing in a way.

Music Video

This music video definitely reflects the song very well. The lighting particularly makes this video look very depressing. Even the smoke added into the music video looked depressing. The filter for the colour that was meant to be in the video is really good. *I think they used the same filter for their teasers*. Again the music video as well looks like Love Song. I don;t know why but Bad Boys also kind of had the same concept as Love Song. Actually now come to the think of it, Blue and Bad Boys are very similar. Let’s hope they don’t repeat the same thing in the their future music videos.

Now time to look at the plot. It tells a story of 5 guys who became heartbroken thanks to one girl. What is with this trend? Most of the KPOP bands (male AND female) have been hitting on the opposite sex. I don’t understand. Here are also a list of things I would like to point out in this music video which were awkward:

  1. G-Dragon runs funny.
  2. The girl has a face that kind of resembles a guy,
  3. Its me or the girl seems familiar.
  4. Big Bang looks kind of lonely in most of their music video (Baby, I’m so Lonely, lonely, lonely).
  5.  The smoke was a distraction for me.
  6. I thought the girl was an alien thanks to an angle which she was filmed at
  7. I think I am wrong but does that car have like 2 steering wheels near the end. (I am not sure, but it looks like it though).

Live Performance

I was actually surprised that this song had a dance. I is quite interpretive, nice and fitted in with the song as slow but meaningful dance. I’m not really keen on the lying down part which they have but what ever floats their boat. Boo Yah!

And The Rating?

Big Bang Comeback with this song is really cool. 9/10. 😀

Have Fun Watching 😀 Troy.

Tomorrow – Tablo ft. Taeyang

Song

Now I am a bit confused with this song. I don’t know if this song would be classified as a ‘pop’ song or a ‘ballad’ song. Some parts of the song tells us that this song is a pop while Taeyang’s vocals are telling us this is a ballad. To be honest I really do not know what type of genre this song is meant to be. I guess Tablo’s rap in this song adds a bit of spice. It like a recipe. Bit of Tablo’s wrap, a good instrumental and Taeyang’s vocal. When you first hear the song, you can hear the sorrow and heartbroken-ness.

English

This song is basically filled with English mainly in the chorus and it sounds wonderful.

Music Video

This is the very sad part of the whole review. There is a heap of symbolism in this video yet people say it is just a bunch of sand and cars and helicopters and two guys walking around. Well, I guess this is how the song is interpreted. Firstly if you are in the middle of no where, you will definitely think that “There is no tomorrow”. You will try to think there is but the reality for some there is not. The cars are going back and forth round in circles as if they can not find their way out. (Maybe that is why you buy a GPS? Only Joking). This says that the cars like the guys can not get anywhere and are stuck there.

Now there is no definite plot in this video and it can be interpreted many ways. Guys get stuck in desert. Girl leaves them and then comes back to save the guys. Basic plot line.

Live Performance

I love it how they blend the music video with the live performance. It is really a smart idea. I also love the backdrop they have on the “big screen” at the back of the performance. For those who don’t know, it looks like the after effects of deforestation. This tells us further that  the song has a deeper meaning and can be interpreted in many different ways. I also like Taeyang’s hair. It looks like he dipped it in some blonde dye. LOL.

And The Rating?

This song is really good. The music video is really good. The live performance is really good. It looks like Tablo, Taeyang, Big Bang & YG Ent. have minimal flaws. 9.5/10.

Have Fun Watching 😀

Baby Don’t Cry – Daesung

(Lately its been getting really awkward on how I start my blog posts. I was rereading some and they felt so weird. So from now on I am going to put sub headings and write under each. Hopefully it will make my posts much more organized)

Song

Wow, I love this song. Though it sounds really tragic but at the same time it sounds calm and relaxing (or is that how I feel when Daesung sings?). The tune of the song sounds pretty cool I have to say and technically I did not question myself about the song or the vocals. While we are on vocals, he sounds amazing as always.

English in the Song

Now, its YG guys. There is nothing wrong with their English. Nothing at all. LOL. I guess that’s why you hire an American producer to correct  the lyrics and make sure it makes sense.

MV

There is no music video for this song, but I can tell you, this song needs a music video. DAESUNG NEEDS A MUSIC VIDEO YG!!!!!!

Stage Performance

Now to date there is only one stage performance I know of and it will be linked at the end of this post. I think this song was very perfected on stage. However, Daesung looks really hesitant about releasing his energy at the start and then at the end it came out so fast and kind of made the performance suck. I don’t really want to be mean but he had so much energy building up in his body that it was like ruined the ending. I hope you get what I mean.

Anything Else:

YG!!! LISTEN TO ME!!! DAESUNG NEEDS A MUSIC VIDEO AND A MINI ALBUM. HE IS TOO GOOD. JUST LET HIM DO HIS STUFF AND WE WILL ALL BE HAPPY!!!!!! (I did not want to be aggressive). On the side note, It was really sad to hear that Daesung was involved in a car accident. It was also sad to hear that someone had to die for a result of this and I hope Daesung is much better. Can’t wait for a new Big Bang Album next year.

And the Rating?

This song was very well polished and Daesung needs much more recognition for his work other than Big Bang and a lousy stage performance. An Album and MV would suit our fitting! Anyway to rate this song —-> 9.5/10

Have fun watching!!!! 🙂 Troy.

Last Farewell / Baby Baby – Big Bang

Okay, I am going to review to songs at once. Both are the same song but one is in Korean and the other is English. I am going to say something about the start of the song where they are doing the chanting in both of the songs, You can only faintly hear the ‘G’ and the Bang Bang is not really pronounced correctly. They are kind of saying something like ‘Down Down’.

Now this song is like a hardcore dance music. I can seriously imagine a hardcore dance routine to this but again also the song is meant to be about a guy who realizes the girl left him for another. In other words, romance. However in my point of view the plot/theme of the song doesn’t go well with the beat. Its like Heaven by Dj Sammy, I prefer the classical/acoustic version but not the actual version. Maybe it is just me and my liking.

Anyway I thing I want to touch on, the song does not flow and is kind of tight in my point of view for the English version. It doesn’t have the same feel like the Korean version for some reason. I do like the English version of the song though because I can understand them. However when Big Bang does an English version, it doesn’t sound has professional as a normal Korean soundtrack or song would.

Also, ‘BASS’. It is so freaking annoying to have something like this. What does this have to do with the song. It goes with the beat but doesn’t comprehend with the rest of the lyrics. It like they just added a random word to the song to make it better? No It can’t be. WHY BIG BANG?

Anyway to rate this lovely song, I have to give 2 different rating since they are actually 2 different songs.

Last farewell – 8.5/10

Baby Baby – 8/10

Love Song – Big Bang

Okay, Big Bang. Is there something you can not do? This song is the best song, in my point of view, you have done since your debut. I absolutely love this song. Finally a song that is just perfect. Not to busy, not too empty, loud, slow, angry.

This music video a different feel to it than other videos. The scenery is different. All the others need colour. Well, Welcome  to Big Bang. They do everything old school. Well nearly everything. They film in Black and White. Time to go old school. Their simple clothing is actually simple. No crazy hair dos just a normal suits with a scarf flying at the back. Yeah Scarfs. . . .

I have to say. This music video is daebak (awesome), the smoke gives it the extra amounts of professionalism in the video. The speed of the music video also reflects the speed of the music and the events.

Song itself matches the type of video they have. However I don’t think this is the perfect vdieo to show people who want to catch onto the Hallyu wave. People might think Kpop is tragic after seeing a group of guys walk through a place that has been bombed. hmm… Also I have noticed that Daesung and T.O.P and Seungri only got 2 parts in the whole song. Taeyang got 4 and GD got 5. I don’t think this is fair. As Daesung’s voice goes very well with the song. T.O.P’s rap for this song is much more manly and cmpatible with this music video.

Now this video is nice, however the parts could’ve been shared out fairly. MORE DAESUNG AND TOP PLZ. Anyway rating of this song is 9/10. 😀
