One Fine Day – Jung Yong Hwa (CN Blue)

Jung Yong Hwa is back. For those who don’t remember, Jung Yong Hwa, the leader of CN Blue, promised a solo album. He pre-released his first song, Mileage, a few weeks before, and has officially released the whole album, with One Fine Day being the title track. I need to address something however. Companies really need to get some word out regarding the status of some singles. One song is released first, and then they turn around and say it was a pre-release. This really ticks me off. (Yes, I know I haven’t reviewed Jonghyun’s other title track and I don’t plan to, because I did not read anywhere that there was dual title track thing going on). End of rant. Proceeding with review.

Once again, it was an okay song. I am still hoping for a rock themed song as I have said in my Mileage review. But oh well. This song lacked appeal to me. I can’t really say it had no colour since the song and the music video was built up with that idea of having no colour. It is a very slow ballad. I like ballads, but when they seem to be dragged out most of the time (like this song), it feels boring and bland. The chorus is quite nice, instead of building up the song, it kind of plateaued off. Though if you want me to say a good word about the song, I liked the piano instrumental in the background. The start really does not show off Yonghwa’s vocals, but at the end does. Overall, I like the ending of the song more than the start. That is a first for me, I guess.

The music video, as I said before, was built around the lack of colour. During scenes when Yonghwa is with the girl, there was a range of colours. But when he was alone, such as his close ups, there is definitely a lack of colour. Overall, I feel that the lack of colour contributed to the overall feel of the song and it made the music video more symbolic. In the video we see Yonghwa meet with a girl and start dating. However, the couples drift a part which leads to a sad video. In the end, they meet up again, but with another person they love. Just both can’t seem to forget each other. Yonghwa’s club scenes were a little creepy at the start. He looked like some creepy person smiling across the dance floor that would make you uncomfortable.

Overall, this debut was lacking in some parts. But it made fans think he was dreamy and romantic. Well, that is what I think he did to the fans. 4.6/10

Drama – Nine Muses

After a whole year of not being on stage, fans of Nine Muses are probably asking where the heck the girls are at. However, news broke out that they would be making their comeback in January 2015, a year since their last single as a group. In the past year since we have not seen them, members Lee Sem, Eunji and Sera left the band since their contracts had expired.  It was later announced this year that Sojin and Keumjo would be added to the group to make up the places that the other members have left behind. This brings the group from 9 members to 8 members. Sojin and Kyungri, along with Kevin from Z:Ea. formed the subunit Nasty Nasty, with their song Knock.

Like everyone is saying online. Drama is 100% Dolls 2.0. It sounds similar and it gives off the same feel as Dolls did when it was first released. It had that femme fatale feel to it as well. Not sure about the sudden start where the song just launched into the rapping. Parts of me are like “that’s cool and different” while another part of me is like “it sounds weird now”. The vocals are really good. The chorus seems to lack the right appeal for me. It is okay, just like the start just seemed to be too sudden, which in turn made the rest of the song sound like it was quite sudden as well. So do you understand what I mean? Hahaha… I love the parts after the chorus. The “only you” part is pretty catchy.

The music video is okay. It seems quite generic. It is like we were transported back in time to the 60s with a lot of modern influence. The Marilyn Monroe flying skirt was quite nice. I have to admit, Sojin looks quite cute doing that pose. Beside that, it seems like the girls are waiting for their boyfriends. Or something? I don’t really know much about this video. I am watching it at the moment, just don’t understand a single thing. I did like the dance set with dark silhouettes. The flashing lights (even though I call them a distraction from time to time) fitted in this concept quite well. And can someone tell me where I can get that big tub of popcorn? I need it to watch movies. Popcorn always finishes before I get to the half way point of the movies.

The dance was pretty nice. For the chorus, I don’t know why, but I always picture the Dolls dance. It fits in really well with the song. I like how they become adaptable with the scarf, necklace or suspenders depending on their costume choice.

Overall, it was a nice comeback. Maybe not as great as their previous hits. However it did what it did. It got Nine Muses back on the stage and I guess fans shall be thankful for that. 6.1/10

Not An Easy Girl – Lizzy (After School)

Another After School solo debut. Raina made her debut last year with a ballad song. On top of that, Orange Caramel, the famous subunit of the After School girl group had a very busy year in 2014. The next member to go solo is Lizzy. And she is the first member of the band to attempt the trot genre. For those who don’t know, trot is the Korean folk music genre. It’s a genre that I don’t look at that much and this probably is the first trot song ever that I have reviewed. Forgive me if I am wrong. I have done over 500 reviews, so it is very easy to lose track of the songs I have reviewed.

Like I said before, I don’t review much trot songs on here. To be honest, I don’t listen to them at all. That being said, this song did not appeal to me. Not that I hate it or have anything against the folk genres. Just it just feels like any other folk song and lacks the appeal that modern music nowadays have. Her vocals are pretty good to be honest. After School and Pledis promotes Lizzy as a person who cannot sing and relies heavily on autotune. This song points out to everyone that she can sing. Her vocals may not be strong as other singers, however if she can sing a whole song by herself without her voice going funny, then that is pretty good. The rapping really did not fit in with the song. For those who don’t know, Jung Hyung Don featured in the song for like 10 seconds and rapped in it. Really did not fit in with the song.

The music video was intelligently shot. From what I gather from information, the director took a famous Korean historic drama and photoshopped (or videoshopped) Lizzy face over the lead actress. So basically it has everyone thinking that this was all recently shot, but nope. The music video was shot as a drama years ago and using technology today, we get this music video. Using the trusty help of YouTuber commenters, the drama Seong Chunhyang from 1961. That being said, check out the cool video. Though you may not like the plot behind it (Don’t ask me, I get confused when it comes to movies or dramas), you will be guaranteed to think about the way the music video was shot or edited.

There is a dance to this and from what I can see, it fits the trot genre perfectly. Beside that, I can’t really comment on the dance.

Overall, it was a good debut. I honestly think Lizzy can go for something a little more “out of this world”. Like follow the style of Orange Caramel. Because obviously we all want more After School and Orange Caramel in our lives. 5.1/10

Playground – UKISS

UKISS is now officially back on the stage. After almost one year of not being heard of, UKISS with their new member Jun are back with their 10th mini album. Wow. It just seems like we are missing AJ and the group will be complete. Their last single, Quit Playing, saw the spotlight on them for being the first male KPOP band to be forced to change their sensual choreography. It seems this time, they toned it way down. I also believe since their last single, they have been quite busy in Japan.

This song is pretty good. I was a little disappointed with the song when I first heard it. UKISS is known for their dancing and really catchy songs. This just did not fit them at all. But since then I have grown to love the song. Mainly because a wish from any fan was to hear Jun sing and rap more in a song. Though I am a little disappointed that Eli might disappear into the background, Eli still does a good job. Jun’s rapping may have gotten me a little confused. That dude is meant to be younger than me, but he sounds like someone at Eli’s age (not trying to offend anyone). The RnB feel of the song was nice. The vocals were strong. You can tell Kiseop and the rest of the band are maturing and improving greatly. I love the “du du du du” part Kevin sings. It just sums the song up really well. I believe the song talks about memories or a girl coming back to them.

Another classic Korean music video where the group acts sad. And we only get close ups of the members. There are a few things that I don’t get though. Why are we wasting ice-cream? That is like my main concern. Ahhh… I hope that ice-cream was eaten, not thrown away. I could use something to nom nom right now. That ice cream looks damn fine. And secondly, what is it with being sad and being in a bathtub with your shirt on still? Are you that sad to not be able to take your shirt off before you go into a bath tub??? (Yes, I understand that Jun is a minor still. Shirt off may not have been a possibility, however why not change the roles around with some other member? Kiseop? Everyone would like that!) That being said, I had nothing to talk about in the music video, so i decided to poke fun at it.

This dance was freaking amazing. The use of the handkerchiefs were a really nice addition to the song. Though, I have to be honest, I hate the suits. They don’t look nice at all. Well, since I am speaking honestly, they are more like an eye sore to me.

Overall, a nice comeback that had to grow on me to like it. The song was quite nice and the dance was really good. 7.3/10

Cry Again – Davichi

The ballad duo queens are back with a brand new song. It has been sometime since the girls have promoted on stage. They did release some singles last year, however it went unnoticed due to the lack of promotion. They include Pillow, Again and Don’t Move. Now they have officially parted ways with MBK Entertainment (Formerly CCM) and have signed with MMO Entertainment . This is their first release (mini album) with the company, titled as Hug. The title track is Cry Again.

Every time I listen to a Davichi song, I feel the need to be blown away. After all they are quite successful in the ballad industry in South Korea. That being said, I really did not feel any appeal from the 2014 singles. This is really not a great song as their 2013 songs such as Turtle and The Letter, but this song really picks up the lack of great songs from Davichi. I have to say when they reach the chorus of the song, it really brings the song to another whole new level. I found the start and the verses to be quite “quiet” and really silent. However when the chorus came, it gave life to the song and added a sweet touch to it. I really love how they sing together at the end. Their harmony and vocals just takes your breath away.

From the start of the music video, we see a couple break up. Add creepy Haeri in the background, who follows the couple around and witnesses their breakup. Every time the dude hurts Minkyung’s feelings, Haeri always comes up and comforts her. Not sure about her character, but I think she is some sort of guardian angel or a really close friend. Towards the end, we see the couple kiss, but as the dude no longer loves Minkyung, the kiss has no emotions, and hence a message to Minkyung that their love is over. Once again, we see Haeri come up and comfort her. It was a quite beautifully shot music video. I have to admit that. That dude is clearly a douche and he was quite harsh throughout the music video.  The video suited the feel of the song and I think any viewer also could feel the emotion in the music video.

Overall, it was a nice song and music video compared to their less successful year last year. 8/10

Apologize – Eddy Kim

Eddy Kim is a solo artist who debuted in Korea last year. He made his debut with the songs 2 Years Apart and Darling. For those who don’t know, he was a contestant on the season 4 of Superstar K (the biggest audition show in South Korea). Other artists that came from the same show includes Seo In Guk, Busker Busker, Huh Gak, Roy Kim and John Park. He is now back with a brand new mini album, titled as Sing Sing Sing. Apologize is a pre-release on the mini album.

I freaking love this song. It is so catchy and pretty addictive. It is a nice song when you listen to it, though the lyrics are just the opposite. Not saying that they are bad, just the man of the relationship is cutting their relationship off due to the girl not paying attention to him. Okay, that was confusing. In other words, the song sounds really nice. The English in this song sounds so freaking good. Definitely the highlight of the song. He places the guitar throughout the whole song and makes the song into a powerful song as the song proceeds. Them ad-libs at the end were really good.  Eddy Kim has a very unique voice that I don’t think there is another match in the South Korean industry. Though, I personally don’t like his debut song. I think Darling and this song in particular, highlights the vocals of the singer quite well.

The music video is pretty cool. It reminded me of James Bond kind of style, but that is just me. Hahaha… But I really like the use of contrast between the black and white. Also, like how the music video highlights particular words, like Apologize. Though, he looks kind of scary in the music video. Hahaha… But overall, it is a nice video to watch.

Yes, this song by far, has to be one of the best songs of 2015 so far. Hopefully, more songs can be like this and/or of a higher standard. 10/10

Glass Beads – GFriend

Another newly debut group this year. GFriend is a 6 member girl group debuted under Source Music. For a newly debuted group, they are becoming a very hot topic in the industry. But that is for discussion a little later on. The group is made up of Sowon, Jung Ye-Rin, Eun-Ha, YuJu, SinB and Umji. They have an average age of 18.1. The oldest was born in 1995 while the youngest was born in 1998. Sadly, I am ageing. I am 18 myself, and it is scary to know that I am older than some KPOP stars now.

I am not even going to kid with myself. This song sounds a lot like Girl’s Generation’s Into The New World. The song overall sounded a lot like SNSD’s debut song. I am not going to complain, cause it is a nice song to listen to. GFriend’s song sounds more modern (obviously, considering the release dates of both songs). I like the start of the song with the piano sounds. The instrumental is also another plus for this song. It sounds really catchy. The vocals overall could be a little bit better. They sound really whiny in some parts. That high note at the end was pretty good though. Overall, this is a pretty good debut song (and even if it is a “copy” of SNSD’s song, well played). But seriously, some fans need to chill down.

The music video. Wow. I have never seen a bunch of girls so excited for gym class. Particularly, if they are just walking the plank (or beam) or jump over the “horse” (I don’t know the technical terms). Actually, from what I know of, it is pretty rare for such a large group of girls to hang out with each other. The only thing I can 100% be certain of, that occurs in real life is the scene where they get punished. As soon as the teacher turns his back, bam, all the arms go down. When he turns back, the rate at which the girls put their arm back up will probbaly get them a tougher punishment. The dance scenes are pretty good as well. I am not going to say they copied SNSD for the music video. Cause thinking back, I see no similarities.

The dance is pretty good. I love the clock dance move and their formations. Though, yes, they pull similar moves to SNSD’s dance, as I discussed in the last review: no band owns any dance. Someone has always pointed at the camera or high kicked before the person we claimed they copied from.

Overall, this is quite a successful debut. Nice song, music video and dance. I just hope next time, I don’t need to consistently mention another band when I review their (or anyone’s) song/comeback. 8/10

Fire – JJCC

JJCC is back with a brand new song. It has been some time since I reviewed their debut song, At First. Since then, they released a new single titled as Bing Bing Bing. Thinking back, I should have reviewed their 1st comeback single. Just with time constraints in the past year, I was unable to. But now with more time, I should be getting to do more artists, especially the rookie groups or groups that just debuted last year which I have not looked at yet.

This song is pretty good. Not as great as their previous songs, but it still does the job. Not exactly a big fan of the chorus, cause to me, it sounds like they are just yelling into the microphones. And at least they can say “the roof is on fire” without having that infamous Asian lisp. I lvoe the really high pitch parts before the chorus. The vocals overall were pretty good in this song. I don’t remember hearing a rap in this song though. It would be a nice song to hear at a party cause it gets you up and pumping!! Overall nice song.

Not a mega fan of the music video. It looked okay, but it was very boring to watch. It was very colourful, just I don’t really get the whole point of the car mechanic theme to it. The party scenes suit it, just the whole point of the car mechanic inviting his friends to pimp up the car made it seemed really boring. The ending was just so random, how everything was just a dream and it turns out they were a bunch of sleepy boys. I honestly expected more.

The dance was okay. Some people said they copied 2PM for this dance. If that is the case, I believe 2PM copied BTOB’s Peniel then. He did ages ago, before 2PM. And saying that, that move with the arms waving around, I am 100% that has existed for some time and hence is nobody’s dance, as people use that dance everywhere. So to those fans who always say “so and so copied so and so’s dance” tend to have no idea what they are talking about. Well around 80% of the time.

Overall, dance and song were okay. Music video could have been better. 6.1/10

Break Ya – LU:KUS

LU:KUS is back with a brand new song. However I am under the impression that I have not reviewed them before. So let the awkward introduction begin! LU:KUS is a five member boy band in South Korea. They made their debut in 2014 (though there are dates since 2013 online) with their track So Into You. I have been paying attention to the group since their debut in July. They are under Pan Entertainment and are now back on the stage with Break Ya.

This song is really addictive. And it has been my jam for the past few days. It is a really nice song that sounds something you would hear in a party. It is catchy with the “I wanna break ya!” part that they start off with. The vocals are okay but I am not going to complain. The rapping is pretty good in this song. The chorus is basically what hooks me on to this song. It is something modern and something that people want to hear. I am going to point something out though. This song reminds me of KPOP prior to 2010. Back in the day when the English was scattered around the song to make it look good, but no sense. ‘Rocking on the door” and other examples from the song feel so awkward, yet when we think about it, big bands nowdays used to have this style of English in their songs. Overall, a really addictive song that sounds amazing.

There is no music video. I thought that there was one, but when I go back to find it, its not there anymore.

There is a dance to this song however. And it looks really cool. Just I am not professional enough to dance to it. It looks simple but it is probably too hard for me. My favourite move is the “I wanna break ya” part where they walk forward and bring their arms to above their heads and make a round ciricle shape. My description is amazing. But it is like the first few moves that you actually see for the chorus. Amazing dance.

No music video. But the song and dance makes it up. 9.25/10.

By the way, for those who are wondering how I rank my reviews: I firstly give the song, music video and dance a score out of 10. I, then, make it into one score, by placing emphasis on the song score and less emphasis on the music video and dance.

Fire – Mad Clown ft. Jinsil (Mad Soul Child)

Mad Clown has returned to the stage with a brand new song and a brand new artist featuring in his songs. Mad Clown has, previously used the likes of Hyorin and Soyu from Sistar as singers featuring in his songs. Now he has enlisted the help of Jinsil (Mad Soul Child) and EXID’s Hani for his latest release. Jinsil featured in the song, while Hani featured in music video. And he has officially hit the top of the charts, nearly getting the first perfect all kill of the year. But hey, he has been ranking quite strongly on the charts, knocking off and holding first position for quite some time.

This song is actually pretty nice. I have this thing with hip hop that really annoys me and that is that I don’t like hip hop or rap songs like this. But Mad Clown is totally different for me. His songs are nice to listen to and I don’t find his voice cocky or that hard compared to other artists. This song talks about the man who is driven insane by his partner but still remains with her. Jinsil’s voice is also quite interesting. Kind of annoying in my point of view, but at the same time, I guess that is what it is meant to do considering the lyrics. But I like her featuring overall in the song. It sounds quite nice and the voices have a lot of chemistry with each other.

The music video does exactly what the lyrics say. The female partner played by Hani from EXID drives the male partner, played by Mad Clown, insane. It is pretty damn good. Though, I don’t know why she is lip syncing. I am sure putting Jinsil in the music video singing would not have hurt, but I don’t really have anything to say about it. The music video was quite nice, though there was too much unbalance in the scenes. Most of the scenes are Hani driving Mad Clown insane, yet we only get one or two scenes of Mad Clown trying to push her away or drive her insane. But beside, it was a nice video to watch.

Notice that there hasn’t much of a dance for the reviews recently. Odd. But overall, comeback was amazing. little complaints from this fan. 9/10

Crazy (Guilty Pleasure) – Jonghyun (SHINee) ft. Iron

Jonghyun from SHINee is the next member to go solo. Not permanently, but as a side job. For his solo debut, he has enlisted the help of big names in the Korean music industry such as Zion T, Younha, Wheesung and Iron, who featured in the title track and the song being reviewed. For those who don’t know, Iron is also the same rapper who has featured in Hyorin and Jooyoung’s collaborative track: Erase. Back to the SHINee part, there has been speculation that the solo debut projects of both Jonghyun and Taemin are leading up to the official comeback of the SHINee later in the year. Nothing is confirmed yet, so I guess we might need to sit and wait.

This is another okay song. It sounds artistic and nice and all, but to me, his high pitch sounds are really off putting. It has that Jonghyun feel to it. It just does not appeal to me as other songs. I honestly expected Jonghyun to go with a dance number or a ballad. Instead we got this odd sounding Rnb sound. Though he can pull it off, it just does not appeal to me. It shows me he can sing, just it does not showcase his amazing vocals that we all know him to have. The song really does not have that much going on in it. The instrumental is not that special. Without Jonghyun’s voice, it lacks a lot. The rapper did a pretty good job in this song. He fitted into the song pretty well and complimented Jonghyun’s voice. Just overall the song was okay, just not the song I expected Jonghyun to have.

This music video is basically a fan girl’s dream. Imagine a shirtless KPOP star with nice abs being chained up with a huge spider crawling down! Wait! Don’t imagine that last part. Just imagine the KPOP star with abs chained up. That spider was unexpected and I did not notice it until after someone pointed it out in the comments. I like the use of the band. Once again, I know though lights are meant to be for artistic purposes, but I dislike them. To me, they are an eye sore and high distracting. The video was dark but I have to admit those lights gave it something else. A different feel to it, I think. At least we get to see that the girl is making him go crazy in this video. It fits in with the song and its title.

Wow, did not expect to write so much. I was hoping for a SHINee come back for quite some time and hope for one after this! Especially what has been happening with all the groups in SM, at least there is 1 stable group. 4.8/10

Mileage – Jung Yonghwa (CN Blue) ft. YDG

After like a whole year of re-scheduling and a lot of articles about the new solo “coming soon”, Jung Yong Hwa has yet to make his official solo debut on the stage. However, CN Blue’s leader has teased us with a new song. This is just a pre-release, with the actual solo debut set to occur at a later date (later this month). Hopefully, they don’t push this around anymore and let him make his debut. And then make a CN Blue comeback!!! Asking too much? Getting too personal?

This song is okay. I always hoping for something along the lines of a rock themed song as that is what I grew up to know Yonghwa and CN Blue. Thankfully, this is just a pre-release, so I can still hope for the full album right? Anyway, this song also compliments his soft voice. I understand many people love him for his dreamy love songs and dreamy voice. Just this is a change that I really saw unexpected. The song is quite sweet but at the same time is also quite funny. The rapper was a little too passionate for this song. While Yonghwa was being dreamy via his voice, the rapper’s voice sounded hard and harsh to this song. This song isn’t catchy and that appealing on a whole. It as, to me, a one listen song, where I basically listen to it once and forget about it.

The music video was pretty cool. Some parts annoyed me. I know that for creative purposes they cutted out shapes and stuck them onto objects such as a soju cup or a vacuum cleaner. Yet why couldn’t they just used the vacuum cleaner or soju cup instead of “faking” everything. To you, it may not be a big deal and that I could be really picky. But hey, that thought stayed in my mind the whole time I watched the music video. Beside that, I thought the bed scenes were hilarious. It was really creative. It is the first time I ever saw a bed stuck to the wall and the dudes were playing around, but really they were walking around. That is pretty cool. Blew my mind for a wild (mainly because it took me forever to get).

Overall, a pretty cool music video for a song that was okay. 5.6/10

Day By Day – HIGH4

HIGH4 recently returned with a new song, Day By Day.

This song is a really simple yet classy song to listen to. The addictive piano beat is what I like about the song. If you have followed me for a while, you probably know I dig a lot of songs that have the classical influence in them. As the song progresses, there is also a more modern influence emerging. The vocals and rapping all contribute to a sad and sorrowful side of the band. The song basically talks about how daily life becomes hard after a break up with someone we love. I have to be honest though. Even if I dig parts of the song, I kind of still felt it was very monotone and boring to listening to. The rapping was the only thing that changed up the song.

The music was sot in a very dark setting. Well more like the computer did a lot of edit and put everything into grayscale except for highlighting certain dark colours. Plus the music video was shot in a room that basically was black.  But I like how the lyrics describe the painful progression of daily life after a break up and how they used the exact same things in the music video. Most of the time nothing really matches up in a KPOP music video. Them crying at the end of the music video made sense but at the same time kind of looked awkward. Well to me at least. Overall, a nice video.

I like how the dance suited the speed of the music and changed as it went on. It went from soft to a pretty sharp dance. Also liked the move with the final rapper (Sorry, it is very hard to learn names), how they put the hands in front of the rapper and then disperse.

Overall, it was a nice comeback. Much different to Headache which was light-hearted and more colourful compared to this comeback. 8.3/10

Wiggle Wiggle – Hello Venus

Hello Venus made their comeback with a new song, Wiggle Wiggle, being on the first bands to make their comeback for 2015. The song, along with the dance that accompanies it, has become a topic of discussion amongst fans and other listeners as well. They previously made their comeback with Sticky Sticky. It seems like they are taking the repetition seriously.

This song is surprisingly nice to listen to. However there were some major downfalls to the song. Firstly, the really high pitch singing. Really. This song had so much style and potential. However, instead the producers wrote the song with a really high pitch sound that make it unappealing. Imagine this song with vocals like in Sticky Sticky. To me it would have sounded a lot better. Secondly, that “screaming” as some people dub it. Yeah, it could have been better. It felt mismashed in this song, however at the same time it had its own style. The rapping was really good and I thought the chorus (minus the high pitch already pointed out) was pretty good as well. Overall, the song had so much potential. It just was lead in the wrong direction.

There is no music video. Sad, but there was no video that I could find. Except for the teaser.

Am I the first person to actually enjoy the twerking in this dance? Cause to me, it made sense. Cause I don’t think you can wiggle wiggle other parts of the body that well. Hahahaha… And this is basically another sexy concept done right for me. It makes sense to use it. Duh???

Disappointing that there was no music video. The song could have been way better, yet the dance was really awesome. 6.2/10

Coming Soon – N.CA

N.CA is back with a new song titled appropriately as Coming Soon. Her past singles have always shown to everyone how cute and lively she is. This song does the exact same, however also uses the same bubble gum sound that she is known for.

This song is pretty catchy. The chorus is pretty catchy as well. Her voice really fits these types of songs. They are fun to listen to and at the same time does a very good job at showcasing her talents. The song is a first for N.CA however due to the rapping that she does. It is the first time for her to be rapping, however to me, it sounds more like her talking into a microphone with heavy autotune. The lyrics are pretty nice as well. For those who want to know what the song is about, it is mainly about her ready to confess to her love. At first, I thought the company and N.CA would introduce a different title to the song, however it is still pretty nice.

The music video is okay. She is pretty cute. And that is all I have to say about the music video. It also seems that the company is investing a little more into the artist as well.

The dance is mega cute. The “penguin” dance is really cute and addictive. Though, it won’t be a dance that fits the club scene, the dance fits the song and the concept as well. However, that ice cream microphone can definitely go.

Overall, a really nice comeback. If only she was a little more well known, this song would have received a little more attention. 7.4/10

Deja Vu – Sonamoo

The last debut of 2014. But one of the first bands to promote their songs in the new year. Sonamoo is a 7 girl group from TS Entertainment, which houses big names such as Secret and Untouchable (and until recently, B.A.P). The group consist of Sumin, Minjae, D.ana, Nahyun, Euijin, High D and Sun. The group has been long anticipated, with their debut concept giving them the name: “female B.A.P”.

Some people say this song does not reach their expectations. But to me, it hits all the high notes. It is a powerful song. It has a feminine side to it, however it is still equally as powerful as past debuts that made us go wow. I personally really liked this song. It had that hip hop vibe that does not overtake the whole song. I have to be honest though. The vocals were rather weak in this song. The second rapper (the one with the black bob cut) in the song really does not suit this style. Instead her voice kind of conflicts with the enforcing sound the song has. There were good things in the song. It has been a very long time since I heard of a dance break in the song. And the rapping before each chorus sounds so freaking amazing. Those were my most favourite parts of the song.  Overall, a pretty solid song for debut.

The music video was okay. I liked the big sets and how it really does not seem as generic and boring as some other sets. Like that one set that appears in all music videos. Though, there really is no plot. I guess the literal plot is where the girls goes around dark rooms to find light. I am sure that they are finding something a little more than light, maybe love? But beside that, the msuic video was okay to watch. Though some kind of plot with a character of the opposite sex could have made the music video a little better. You know, to illustrate that “love” that is behind the title of the song and its lyrics.

The dance was pretty good. There is one complaint. I probably sound really stupid for this. But what is with the “cute” looks the stylist are trying to go after? One of them has pony tails which to me, personally, does not make some look tough and powerful. Combined with the smiling that I have been seeing on the stage, and I am really confused about what is going on actually. However dance was amazing and really strong.

A strong and powerful debut. It makes my “heart pound pound “. Excuse me for that lame reference to the song. I am sure you guys could have made a more smarter and better reference to the lyrics. 7.1/10
