What Are You Doing Today – Hello Venus

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/121412_hellovenus_what.jpg

After being noted as the female rookie group with the most potential to making it big in 2012, they have finally comeback with a new song released at the start of December (I think). This song still maintains the girl’s image as the cutey girl group that we are used to.

To be honest, I personally don’t think this is the right song for the girls. It does not have the same impact as Venus did. It does have a catchy beat, but at other times during the song, the song does not fit. The rap did not fit the song at all, and sounded really sudden. Then the song is relaunched to the chorus, but it does not move along well.  It does maintain the good enough image of the girls through their vocals, but it does not enhance the girls more. I think I feel this song kind of drags the girls back rather than put them up there with other singers. Compared to Venus, this song is not as addictive. It really does not show off the girls with their vocals, and the rap was not really top-notch.

As for the music video, I found the colour blue in the background as quite dull. This, for me, makes the whole music video as a dull thing to watch. Venus was bright and delightful, but now they came back with this song, I am quite surprised. The video actively fits the feel of the song and title of the song, where the girls are asking the guy about what he was doing today. However, with the dull nature of the song, this video was not for me. The thing I liked about in the music video was the picture frames. They looked quite vintage but nice. However, the video was not for me.

The dance was okay, but it was not quite catchy for me as the dance for Venus did. Also, I was quite bored of the performance. It really did not showcase any of the girl’s talent, which really made the performance quite boring to me.

3.5/10. Not the song, music video or performance for me. Maybe next time.

Goodbye To Romance – Sunny Hill

Source: http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/20121221_seoulbeats_sunnyhill_goodbyetoromance1.jpg

Sunny Hill has finally made their comeback with another song. If you are looking for something along the lines of The Grasshopper Song, which was released in January 2012 or Is The White Horse Coming?, released in May-ish 201, then this is not the song for you. This however brings them back to their debut days, where they sung really underrated ballads and love songs. However, I am assuming that now SNSD’s song is now out, these girls are gonna drop down. Sad.

Anyway, this song is more of a love song, but fits the ideal type of your average Christmas Carol. The piano in this song is quite pleasant to listen to and feels warm. I feel like I am in a toasty room, despite battling 40 degree days, which translate to very cold in Fahrenheit. The start makes it sound quite serious, but as soon as you hear the girls vocals, then you can guess that this song means something else. I absolutely think the highlight of the song is the chorus, which kind of makes me picture the girls waving goodbye to their boyfriends or love interests. I guess you can say Seungah and Misung get the short hand of the stick, as Jubee and Kota’s voice do overpower the other two, but seriously, these girls sounds really good. Those really faint short but total high notes where Kota is singing “Goodbye” sounds really good and adds to the definition of the song.

I totally love the music video for this song. It shows that the whole music video is filmed in one shot. The lightiing of the video gives off an antique feel to the room, and how distant this room is to the rest of the room. The little girls are like younger versions of the actual members. I absolutely love the addition to the toys, it is like a trip down memory lane, with the teddy bear and the train set. The classroom photos and the member of Sunny Hill seem to be having a great time. My only complaint though, the flashing lights at the end. Yeah, they don’t really look as good, but still. Awesome video.

The live performance of the song is totally boring. Though I miss the girls dancing, this is the perfect song to sing during Winter and Christmas. Pity, that they still have not won a first place yet. One day.

9.75/10. I would give it 10/10, however this song seems only great during Christmas or Winter time.

Every Night – EXID

EXID made their comeback back in November. (Yes, we are nearing the end of January, I realized that ages ago). Anyway, after promoting a really good song, I Feel Good, the girls came out with a rearranged piece that featured on their previous mini album. Same title, just different feel. To choose between the two, I choose this song because it sounds much better. Leggo:

The song was pretty good. I don’t have much to say about the song. I really like the soft telephone ringing sounds at the start of the song, which I think moves the song along quite well. Also, the song is a whole reversal of the “I Feel Good’ song they promoted earlier in the year (2012, I mean). This song brings out their vocals and the rap, in my pint of view was pretty well done, however, I think she carried over the autotune that was in “I Feel Good”, which does not sound as good in this song. However, the English in the song is what I am here to talk about, just looking at the lyrics kind of…. “I know this booty” and “So I don’t know how to get down” kind of sounds like, ummm… you know….

The music video is quite interesting. The girls are sickened by this male guy who is a player and cheats on every girl he meets. They create some scientifically proven poison made from a red, spicy, chillies   They rub themselves over tables, because they are tired, in the process of making this and carefully place the poison gas into glass tubes. After, they make their way to the guy and kills everyone including the guy with the poison, by throwing into the air. Hey, at least they know safety and wore gas masks that did not match their outfits. The guests started to sneeze and spit water out of their mouths, which looked quite attractive. Poor guy though, he took the whole load for himself. Let’s just say he had his last shower, with clothes on at the very where he died. Nice.

The dance has a lot of rubbing in it. I don’t know why, but they keep on rubbing their chests and butts the whole way through. But still, they have good lives.

7/10. Pretty good.

I Got A Boy – SNSD

Source: http://www.allkpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/gg1.jpg

The girls are back with another single after a year a bit. Yes, I did not count TaeTiSeo in that because their are nine members in the actual group, not three which was the number of members in the sub-unit. Ah finally, they comeback with a new song that has me quite excited and “on the edge of my seat”, only to be disappointed after listening to the song. However, with the girls already making their comeback and other big names coming back in January like Sistar 19, CN Blue and debuts like Infinite H, JeA solo debut, Double Yoon and loads more, something tells me that the month of January is going to get really, really ugly (on the charts, of course).

The girls have made a comeback with a fresh style. Of course, it is unique, but to me it actually mirrors The Boys, which to this day, is one of the worst songs by SNSD. This song to me is like a mashup of 4 different genres. Literally, mean that. There is pop, hip-hop, rap and I think I can here a bit of blues and rock. Though the song is fresh, it is not as good as I expected it. Like come on, the girls rapping is quite fine, but the whole song did not sound as good, especially when the song would abruptly end at one spot and start some kind of remix, dubstep kind of chorus. I just wished to say something about the lyrics. The lyrics are smart in some parts, but quite misleading in other parts. Smart part is: towards the end of the song, where Jessica, I think, yells out “Don’t Stop, Let’s bring it back to 140”, it is quite smart, as 1:40 in the actual song is the same part which plays right after Jessica yells out those lyrics. However it is also misleading, as the start says: “Ha Ha! Let me introduce myself. Here comes trouble!”. Is she referring to SNSD as trouble or the guy in the music video as trouble?

Anyway the music video was quite okay. Yes SM and its boxes, but I felt the music video was more lively and happy than The Boys, it was much more colourful, unlike The Boys which was dull. The speech bubble at the start was quite rare. However, I have to note the weird aspects of the music video. The girls all date the same guy. No wonder they got all surprised and jumpy, they probably think that the others going to find out that the guy was cheating on nine different girls, kind of weird. Also, how the girls all cramp themselves at the front door, and try to look through the small glass hole. How the hell can you guys look through the hole, without placing your eyes on the hole, but instead we see like 5 different faces squished above and below each other, while the other four are jumping around to see.

The dance is quite exciting. It is pretty cool and really nice. It feature small groups in the dance who are like having a dance battle to their own music. I also like the part at 2:52. They seem to improve a lot and seem to be much more coordinated.

6/10. It was much better than The Boys. Quite disappointed. Let’s just say, SM has changed the girls a lot.

Lonely – Spica

Source: http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/20121122_seoulbeats_spica5.jpg

The girls have made another comeback and have not failed to impress this time. You may know as this as the song that rips Sistar’s Alone big time, but I believe that this is a unique style. Yeah, so screw all of you haters out there. Wait, I mean, the girls have shown a different..um…style..to Sistar. Yes, I was meant to say that….

Anyway, the song songs equally as unique as the girls have gone for something a lot serious. Screw happy girls, these girls are mature. They sound more mature than their other song, I’ll Be There, which was happy and full of life. This song however is quite different from I’ll Be There. This song has more highlights for me than their previous songs.  I found the start of the song is quite subtle its lyrics and it slowly brings the full glimpse of the song into full as it edges closer to the chorus. I love the”papapapapapapa” in this song. It adds to the feel of the song much more than a boring instrumental. However, I have to say. Lonely is the title of song. However when they pronounce at the start of each line in the chorus, they sound unrecognisable. But beside that, really awesome song.

The music video has not plot. It is just them, a few solo shots and them dancing. KPOP companies, it is not that hard to make good music videos. I guess they only had themselves in the music video, so they can look “Lonely”, but beside that, not bad. I guess you can say they stole Sistar’s dress, however not everyone who wears a tight dress and has a cut down the side is considered to be Sistar’s dress. Even this dress seems quite loose and is made of a different type of material compared to Sistar’s near glossy-plastic type.

The live is pretty good. The dance kind of reminds me of  Marilyn Maroyle (Is that how you spell her name?), where she would stand on top of a fan, with a fan underneath, her dress would fly up, and she would only cover the front of it. Pretty good dance.

I’d give this song a 8/10. Pretty good.

Janus – Boyfriend

Source: http://img.ohkpop.com/2012/11/20/Br57Nu13.jpg

Boyfriend came back with another song after Love Style in mid-November. Back with a more mature and quite different side of the boys, that we have never seen. The music video is quite interesting, while the song is a bit too much for me. But beside, this is a comeback that I looked forward too a lot.

The song is really too much for me. I am used to these horrible, non-addictive songs that have cute lyrics and aegyo lines for guys to sing. Yeah, this song is horrible and at the same time does not really portray Boyfriend properly. For me, it would be really hard if you sang songs that showed a more mature side. Keeping that in mind, it would be extra hard if you go back to cutey songs. B1A4 pulled it off perfectly, but I am not sure about the Boyfriend guys at this moment. Janus, to me, does not draw out the vocals of the group as much as their previous song. However, the rapping in this song is definitely fierce and fits the feel of the song. I am proud of Minwoo and the twin that raps. This song does not have a catchy chorus for me and for some reason the start of the song always seem to put me off.

However, beside me disliking the song, I quite enjoyed the music video. It was very interesting. Now, I wish to raise the point. The two twins are very hard to differentiate. Especially in this music video, I cannot tell who is who at all. Like come on, make it easier for the viewers!!!! Anyway, Janus is the Roman (Or Greek) God of two face, time and all sorts of things. In this music video, they use the twins really well, as if they are one person and mirrors them into two different universes like Hell and Heaven. While the others in Hell are sickened with the twins heartbreak, Heaven is more comforting and calm with the situation. That I really like. I do like the scenery of the music video for the two worlds, as Hell is dark while Heaven is full of light. Really well done.

The live was not that good, for this song. I found the dance a bit to mainstream for a song that meant more mature, and every time they jump, they remind me of their debut days. Not that great.

Anyway, I give this song a 6/10. Some major bad points, but overall good. Hopefully, they will come out with a much better song for their comeback this Wednesday.

Nostalgic – Gain (Brown Eyed Girls)

Source: http://www.mtviggy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/k_gain-nostalgia.png

Gain recently released a repackaged single, a way to say thanks to her fans. Released early last month, the song Nostalgic is your typical ballad, but if you add Gain’s husky voice, you basically have the sexiest ballad ever. This song goes a long way and sounds like perfection.

Yes, this is one really cool song. Gain, with her well known husky voice, sings this song really beautifully. I find out of all the singers that I love to listen too, Gain and Hyorin from Sistar are the best at making their voices really husky when needed. Along with the rap from Eric from Shinwa, I can imagine this a type of song is a cafe, where a break-up has occurred. I don’t think that any other song would beat out this song. This song a soothing melody and the instrumental is pretty good. I guess the song could have had more of a climax to it, but it still sounded pretty good.

The music video for this is quite short. Actually I think the music video is off the really draining start of her Bloom music video. However, this music video suits the feel of the song. When I think of the word “Nostaglia”, I think of old things and old memories. This video contains really good effects that videos from the very past would have, and the camera used was pretty old.  The music video blends really well with the title of the song then.

There is no performance of this song, despite me wanting one.

10/10. First one of the year. Of course, it sounds really good.

Danger Girl – C-Real

Source: http://img.ohkpop.com/2012/12/14/gU43qi62.jpg

C-Real is back with a new song which came out around 3-4 weeks ago, which I guess is for their fans, as they did not promote this song in anyway. Every time they come out with a new song, they seem to always impress me. This song kind of move away from the cutey-aegyo that I am used to with this group. They came back with a more upbeat song, but it just has a hint of the aegyo that I enjoy watching from these girls. It is also much different to Joma Joma, No No No No No and Sorry But I.

As said above, this song sounds quite different then their previous songs. It is more upbeat than their previous release which was kind of like a ballad. This song really draws out their vocal talent and actually no rap was used in the song. I totally love the start of the song and enjoyed the way it eased into the chorus. The chorus itself, it quite catchy, sounds really appealing and refreshing to listen to. I am always surprise every time the girls release a song, because it is always something new that really is not released in KPOP that much. Totally amazing.

The music video is some kind of fan-service video for their fans, so there really is not much to complain about the video. There is no performances of the song at all. So…. 7.5/10.

Growing Distant – Brave Guys

Source: http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_meml4tEDGb1qk477fo1_500.png

HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS!!! 2013 is finally here. And to start off the year, I am giving you a totally freaking underrated new song. These guys are comedians, but their rap and the female’s vocal is BOMB!!! I apologise  I got carried away there. I am in a super happy mood today, because I got lots of letters in the mail today (one of them was a very late Christmas Card). Anyway, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Brave Guys to me is a newly form group, but are one of the funniest people. They only promoted this song once, for their first and final album. Seriously, Nam Bora should really release a whole album on her own. Her vocie in this song is like Ailee, Taeyon, Park Bom’s voices all mushed together. Seriously, one hell of a singer right here. I also loved the rap in the song, best rappers ever! To me this song has a hint of sadness, however it is made to sound cheerful. It is your typical ballad, but enhanced so well, it sounds like you are listening to the singer who sang the highest note ever. Good song, really well done.

The music video is really low budget, however still looks really good. Really professional. There are really good actors/actresses from any age in the video which is really good. However, I am confused. Why is the whole music video set in a desert or abandoned area? I don’t really understand that. Other the fact that the music video just randomly changes to scenes in a room. Hmmm, however the actors are really passionate. I am also confused. Why is the table full, yet the couple are still staring at each other? Wouldn’t they be eating and stuffing their face by then?

The live was unfortunately cut the song down, which was a pity. They only had one stage. They sound good live though. Really well done.

9/10. Really good song to start off the year in my perspective. Happy New Year!!!!

One Year – Zia

Source: http://images.kpopstarz.com/data/images/full/2012/12/10/44762-zia-releases-one-year-mv-featuring-im-siwan-bang-yong-guk.jpg

So this will be my last post for 2012. Amazing right? 2012 is finally over, and I specifically chose this song to end the year because it has deep meaning, and I actually like this song. The next review will be released on the first day of 2013 and will hopefully continue posting reviews next year. (I wrote all of this on the 17th). By the time you read this, I will be on holiday and to upset you guys, wrote a whole heap of reviews and scheduled them.

Anyway, the song is a ballad. I like different types of ballads. However, this song is much better than a normal ballad. It is much softer and much more depressing then normal ballads. I think this would be something that girls would listen to after going through a break-up  I love the lyrics as they tell us a story. Many KPOP songs just have a whole song that means nothing, while this song has enough emotion through the vocals to just make a person cry. The vocals are really drawn out of the singer and I quite like her voice. The instrumental of the song contains a really soft piano, which sounds really nice.

The music video is the thing that I want to speak about the most. I love this music video. Actually no. I L.O.V.E this music video. Even though, I am a guy, Guys can be soft as well. This song talks about 3 sides to a guy. The angel, nice guy or perfect guy (played by Siwan from Z:EA), the normal guy (played by Baro from B1A4) & and the devil (Bang Yong Guk from B.A.P). These guys show the many types of relationship we have, as we see each guy reacting a lot differently to normal situations, whether that be punching a mirror or making your girl a cup of tea. Even though this portray guys as dark and evil and unpredictable animals, I believe most of us would fall into the normal category. Guy or girl. At the end of the day, we all end up being tired and we just cannot be stuffed solving problems in our own lives, let only problems of other people.

I also love the lighting in this video. For Siwan, we have a good sunny day coming through the windows. For Baro we have the normal grey cloudy day. For BYG, we get a stormy looking day outside, even to the point I think some read was added into add the fiery feel to the character. Really well done.

I am going to give this song a 9.5/10. Really good. No excuses.

I would like to also wish you all a Happy New Year. Have fun on the last few days of the year, and I will see you back soon on the 1st day of the next year, or maybe the second, cause I think many people will be partying hard and sleeping through the first. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Talk That – Secret

Source: http://okpopgirls.rebzombie.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/Secret-Talk-That-7.jpg

Secret is back with another song, however unfortunately cannot promote their song anymore after a terrible car accident, which left Zinger in hospital with serious injuries. As a KPOP fan and an actual human being, I would wish the girls the best in their road to recovery. But beside that, the song is much different then their previous songs which they had. This is much more slow and vocally dominated, rather than the usual dance dominated song.

The song is definitely much different than Secret’s past song. This song draws out their vocal talent, opposed from  dance. Poison, Love Is Move, Madonna, Magic, I Want You Back, Shy Boy, Starlight Moonlight were all songs that relied heavily on dancing. This song however, you can hear that the group actually singing. Zinger also sang instead of rap. each of the members have really good voices and actually sound really good. It is good to have a song that is different to their usual image. This song talks about them the pain which the girls go through after their boyfriends betrayed them. The song has a hint of sadness which brings out their message, in the song.

The music video is just the girls having their reflection moment after their boyfriends had broken up with them. I really like the whole talking theme, and how they used the old can and string phone which is really cool and smart for a song that relies on the whole heap of talking. The music video also shows the girls walking around in the city and all of that. However, the girls do seem like they are lost and confused. This also further shows their pain and grief which they have.

The choreography also shows how lost and confused they are. They are dragged around and picked up. The backup dancers add to their confusion and to our confusion. Even the choreography tells them to walk forward a bit too much and then they have to back up, as they are in the wrong place.

9.5/10. Must I say anymore?

Caffeine – Yang Yoseob (Beast)

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/121128_Yoseob.jpg

Beast is renowned to do really good dance style songs like Shock, Breathe, Beautiful Night, Mystery, Bad Girl. However Yoseob has come out with a song with an unexpected twist. Caffeine, can be said a song that many can get “addicted” to. However I am not an actual coffee drinker (I find it really bitter), so this song is not my cup of tea. Wow, so many puns!!!

The song is not for me. I see how addictive and happy fan girls or boys can get over this guy and his song, however, I really dislike this song. I actually expected something along the lines of the groups past songs. Isn’t he like a B-Boy as well? However, there were some aspects of the song I liked. I liked the fact that they added the sounds of coffee being stirred into the song and also the sounds that is made when you place a delicate cup of coffee on a saucer. I guess I did not like the feel of the song. It seemed bland and dry. It is not as good as other songs. I felt like other songs from his album would’ve made it better than Caffeine, like Look At Me Now.

The music video is really confusing. I don’t think anything I think even make sense. He has a girlfriend, however they fight and the girl leaves. Since she was Yoseob’s daily cup of coffee (;)), he becomes depressed. After that I am quite lost. I see quite a lot of symbolism in this video, however, I don’t see anything about the girl and Yoseob himself disappearing into a cloud of smoke and the box, which contained his heart. I saw nothing with that, and how confusing that became. However, I did like the dancing on top of the table. Denying physics since 2012. That was pretty cool.

The dance of this song kind of fits the whole song however, I found it unappealing to watch. Mainly because I did not like the song and that I found it quite difficult to watch the dance without some kind of song that goes with it.

Sadly, I am going to give this a 4.5/10. Not the best song at all, however it did have some fine points that were alright. However, overall, I did not like the song.

Stop It – B.A.P

Source: http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/20121025_seoulbeats_bap_yongguk.png

B.A.P is now back with another song, that seems to be leaning towards more of the cutey side rather than the man warriors that they debut in. It is much different compared to their old songs like Warrior as it is not as friece and dominate and it is not like Crash, where they were not serious and doing it for their fans. Stop It is more serious compared to Crash, as they sing about a love song and just like that, they give us another single. Can I just say also, this is the sixth song they have promoted this year.

The song is just not what I want to here. Crash was more cutey, but this song did not cut ir for me. To be honest, I was disappointed. I think this is the weakest song that the boys have tried since their debut, and really don’t fit their image. From the title, Sop It sounds like it will be a bad-ass song like Warrior, however, in the end we just had a really sad bubblegum poppy type song. To me, this song does not draw out their vocals and their raps. The chorus was catchy though, and sounded okay. However, I miss bad-ass B.A.P, wish them to comeback next year.

The plot in the music video is quite weird. So BYG walks out with a burger or sandwich and is hit by Daehyun who is driving the car. BYG is sucked into some kinfd of time warp. He then turns invisible and has the chance to stalk the love of his dreams and stop JongUp, Zelo from messing up in the girl’s class, Youngjae from proposing to her and Himchan from kissing her. BYG thinks that she cannot see him, however she seems BYG clearly or actually senses him perfectly. She lures him to a small room and zaps him, sending into some kind of white room. My question is why could Daehyun see BYG after he went through the time wrap  Why couldn’t the others see him? And why does he have the power to breathe fire? Is he a dragon? That is a lot more than 1 question…. Well, apparently he is meant to be a devil character. This is one weird storyline.

Their dance is okay, a bit jumpy. But it is just okay. I like the Superman part though.

Sorry, a 5/10. Not the best song out there. Not the best song for them to sing.

60 Seconds – Kim Sung Gyu (Infinite)

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/111812_kimsungkyu_60sec.jpg

A song which goes for more than what the title says. Kim Sung Gyu, aka. Leader of the boy band Infinite has finally made his well anticipated debut as a rock singer. This is quite remarkable as I was expecting some track like a dance song or similar to the bands past top songs. I was blown away from the unexpected songs this guy threw at us!

Anyway, the song is a mash-up between a ballad and rock song, with the song pretty well done. The song is quite interesting. I really like the use of the instruments in this song. Though this is not the best song out there, I still really like this song. I focuses on drawing out our past relationships and make us remember the horrible times we had. I like his voice in this song. Not really keen on the songs he sings with his band, but this genre definitely fits his voice really well. I really like the way he sings the chorus and says the word “story”. Very interesting.

The music video is quite confusing. This guy is walking in the sunshine and notices this pretty girl. The world stops for “60 Seconds” so he can admire her, but she does not catch him and continues her job at the cafe. He realizes she is his long lost girlfriend or something. He then proceeds to get her attention by following her into the cafe and not paying for the coffee he ordered. He leaves the ring behind and walks away. The girl however notices the ring, and runs to return it, however soon notices that eh is her long lost boyfriend, who broke up ages ago. All during this time, they have flashbacks of their happy past. Yeah, confusing. I was not sure if he was her boyfriend or not or ex, or just some random stranger, as the music video does not properly give this detail to us straight forwardly.

The performance is really good actually. It seems like he has his moments with the microphone, as if it is his long lost girlfriend.

9/10. Really good for a debut.

2MYX – A-Jax

Source: http://upload.enewsworld.net/News/Contents/44878985.jpg

A Jax is back with another song! This time is much softer and a lot less fierce that their previous songs, like One For You and Hot Game. This song talks more about love and kind of fits the season more unlike their previous songs.

This song is okay. I don’t technically hate it and don’t actually like it. It does not appeal to me, like how Hot Game did for me. I guess this song is kind of lacking. The song is a response to Girls Generation’s Run Devil Run, as it contains a lot of direct lyrics that match both songs. However I really like the title of the song. It is 2MYX, which is kind of shorthanded for To My Ex, which is really smart.

First of all, I would like to say the music video is really choppy. There were to many small scenes and they were added in a random sequence. I have to say, there is very little running apart of the choreography and alone like 1 part of the whole music video. I like the contrast between the light and the dark background in the video, when the focus is on the girl, which makes her more mysterious. However, I am not sure about those upside down pyramids, they seem to be only there to fill up the empty space.

The dance is kind of okay. It fits the feel of the song, however I would like to see something with more emotion and power. At least they incorporated parts of running in it, which does fit the lyrics of the song.

I would give this song a 7/10. Okay, could’ve been better.

Tried to Walk – B1A4

B1A4, who are set into cement, are finally back with another new song. Earlier this year, the boys came back with Baby I’m Sorry which showed us that the guys can shed their cute side and go for something more mature. Tried To Walk is the exact same, just now they have enhanced themselves. Something that is more mature, but at the same time is more unique to something you do not find in KPOP that easily. They always seem to surprise me and their fans every time they come back.

The song sounds much more mellow than their past song, Baby I’m Sorry. Tried To Walk however, is about the feelings after a guy, I am assuming has been dumped by his girlfriend. His girlfriend was everything to him, however after he was dumped, he found it hard to walk or “go on with his life”. The song has a really good beat to it, and incorporates a dance and ballad piece together, making it like the average pop song. The song does not have its Christmas feel to it, but instead has a more of an Autumn feel to it. I think it was released in Autumn. Not sure about that.

The music video suggest something else however. The title of the song is “Tried To Walk” however, in the music video, there is a lot of walking. I guess they mean the title metaphorically, but still, there is quite a lot of walking. There are two sides to this music video. The alive and the dead version. Baro seems t be happy and I think, he feels like he is able to go on, looking at the bright side of the separation  However, on the dead side, nothing lives and Baro is quite sad. However in both versions, Baro is indeed sad and cannot get over it. He still loves happy in the alive version, but is faced with a whole heap of obstacles. In the end, Baro is actually hit by a car in dead version but ends up surviving, which is quite confusing. However, we don’t know what’s happen to him, beside the fact he keeps living in the Alive version and dies in the dead version.

The dance is pretty cool. It is like the upgraded version of their previous dances which they had before. I really like the dance at the first chorus and Baro’s rap. Quite different, but equally fits the lyrics and song.

I’d give this song a 9/10. It is pretty good, however I do miss the happy version of this boy group.
