Oh My God – Girls Day

Song

Hmmmmm… Had a long thought about this song. I’m not really happy with it to be honest. I don’t like the instrumental of the song at all. I find it kind of irritating at the moment and had my cursor over the back button just in case. Now I am not saying they are awful but this song is not up there with their previous songs. That cutey girl voice does not really go well with the techno, electro beat and is really weird. The song is “Oh My God”, but for some reason I can hear someone say “Oh My Gosh” at the start of every chorus which annoyed me to bits. Also the start sounded like dubstep. Korea, stay away from dubstep or else I may need to find a new genre of music. To be honest, I actually did not look at the english translation of this song, and seriously, if this song is about love… Oh Geezz….

Music Video

Okay, humorous video. With no lyrics what so ever, here is what happens. So this rebellious girl is driven by her dad to the “library”. He says good luck to her for her studies and good bye. He drives off leaving the girl along. This guy who was just randomly sitting in front of the library goes to her (I think he likes her) but gets smacked in the face. Then the library turns into a club (Would Like to know how?) and people randomly started to appear. She then tries to get into the club but the bouncer stops her. She then proves that she is “good” by dancing and taking his hat. She then goes into the club where another popular girl is and she versus the popular girl. The popular girl losers and befriends the latter. Then there is another girl in the club who versus them and loses. Yep, thats the video.

The voices in the music video is another aspect of the whole thing which I hated. It is so bad. It is so ugly and unappealing. WHy are we rely so much on technology?

Live Performance

I must say the dance is really cute for this video and it kind of matches the beat of the song.

And The Rating?

6/10. Really the song is annoying and it just really is not something that I am into. 😐

Princess & Prince Charming – Sunny Hill

Song

I must admit this song is not their best. I really do prefer The Grasshopper Song and Midnight Circus. But that does not mean I was not as impress with this song. I quite like this song even though I do like their previous song. It is catchy and is very different from their other songs. It’s not like The Grasshopper Song as it is unique however it is equally powerful in its own way. The song raises the question if there is actually a princess or prince charming for each of us. No I’m not a big fan of fairy-tales and actually love reading the fables, but this is a really good topic to base it on. The Grasshopper Song was about the grasshopper and ant fable. Midnight Circus was about freeing themselves from the puppet master or circus master.

Now, this song has the lot. Great vocals, a catchy beat, a meaningful reasoning. What else would you want? Sunny Hill never disappoints. I really like the lyrics in this song. My favourite part was “Diss 1,2,3,4. Listen to This.”

Music Video

Okay, teaser. WTF reaction. I was watching the teaser when it cam out and was like yeah this is a cool song. Then smack bang was the most ugliest guy ever. I don’t know if he is Spanish or Mexican or another nationality. I must say, I was scarred deeply after seeing his face. And just for the fun of it (click on it, if you dare):

It is kind of weird. But then again the teaser and the music video raises the point “Are all Prince Charming charming and all princess beautiful?”. No not really. I guess this music video talks a bit about uniqueness and be comfortable with your looks. I am not really sure with the guitarist at the start, I don’t think he should’ve been included in the video at all. He does not play a part in the music video that much. I also find the close-ups a bit unappealing to. I am not sure why. I know they are displayed to be ugly to say that all princesses are not pretty and some can be ugly, but they still look good. The video do match the lyrics. To be honest the music video is really confusing. Cause at the end Jubi or someone was actually impersonating the “prince” and then they also destroy the letter A. I think the most creative part of the music video was this part:

I’m not sure what this scene actually means. But I guess they are trying to say that to be a “princess” you must be perfect, which nobody is so therefore “prince charming” will not come and you are not a “princess”. Get That?

Live Performance.

This dance must be the hardiest dance out of the latest songs they have produced. I don’t know why, but I found it hard to follow the dance. It was much more energetic and really matches the beat. I am not sure if it matches the song but it is pretty good. I really like their new image in the live performance. This song is really serious but playful at the same time. It seems like for once, the singers are having funny dancing to their own song.

And The Rating?

Sunny Hill can do better, but this song is pretty good as well. 8.6/10.

Live Performance (It won’t last long, that is the availability of the video below.):

Time is Up – LEDApple

Song

This must be their best song in my point of view. I really loved this song and for some reason, I think it continues the robot theme from their last song. I really enjoyed this song, from the beats to the catchy lyrics. I think LEDApple is so underrated even though they come out with songs every 3 months. I really like the English in this song. It makes sense and is very good. I really like the raps. Might as well I say the whole song is really good.

They should be known more. They are so underrated.

Music Video

Okay, must say. This is how people should use effects in music video. Not need to Photoshop anything in this video.

Okay, so the plot in the music video is kind of confusing (without knowing the lyrics of course). Its about this girl who is a wind-up toy and this guy (or guys) love her. This guy (or guys) are saying that you time is up because your gears will stop working. Yeah, that does not make sense because he is being rude to her even though he loved her. Anyway, when the key at the back stopped, she did not want it to stop but to keep on going to she could be with the guy. Though the key stopped moving for a long peorid of time, she kept moving which means

1. She, after the screen went back, keeps on moving, whcih means she is not a wind up toy. OR

2. After the screen went black, she stopped moving forever and her “Time Was Up”.

Also, is that guy using a touch screen for his guitar? Well, I don’t really care, even though for some time I was staring at his guitar and wondering “Technology is growing a little too fast”.

Live Performance

There is actual no dance to this song. Even though they are doing the hand movements when they are singing “Time’s Up, ooooo~”, and head-banging, I really would not consider them as dances, but since there is no dance, they shall be the dance. MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. In my point of view of course.

And The Rating?

8.6 out of 10. Again, they are so underrated.

Have Fun Watching. Troy 😀

Alive – Jun.K

Song

Wow, this is a style that  would never had expected from 2PM’s Junsu. From what I understand he is just the vocal person in the group but to hear him rap and sing what I understand to be Hip Hop kind of scares me. I quite surprised that he even can rap because I am just used to hearing him sing not rap.

Anyway, I really like this song. It is “ALIVE”. The vocals in the bridge, the rap and the hip hop beat is definitely cool. The whole song was the highlight for me. I just can’t pick between a certain section over another. His English in the song is really good. I find it much better in this song than in his previous song as he has this Engrish pronunciation. In this song, there is no English pronunciation.

Music Video

I thought there was a music video for this. I want a music video for this. There was news that he was mean to have a music video but currently we are all waiting. JYP do not become like SM , don’t make us wait. Turns out the music video for this song just happens to be what they filmed at 2PM’s concert (if I am not mistaken). That sucks.

Live Performance

Okay, yeah. Lost for words. Its not a good performance since it is a music video as well, but it is not also a bad music video. I do like the start where they are all dressed up in these ghostly figures and then Junsu turns around a few times and then he is like in his full suit wear. Yep, got to love stage effects. I also like the long line of fireworks. It is pretty cool.

And The Rating?

8.5 out of 10. Nice song. Still awaiting an actual music video, one that is not filmed during a live performance.

Have Fun Watching. Troy. 😀

Alone – Sistar

Song

I am not a fan of Sistar. I do like their song How Dare You. So Cool was kind of trashy. This song, I am lost for words. I literally can not write at all anything about this song. I like the start of the song and the vocals but what I was looking forward to was another upbeat song like How Dare You or So Cool. This song kind of lacks the amount of a dance song which I wanted from them.

As I said the vocals are pretty good. Dasom and Hyorin sound pretty good. The other member and the rapper (Sorry about names, I suck) also sound pretty good. Yeah, I’m still not sure about the song. I do like th drum beat and piano in the song. They sound pretty cool.

Music Video

Okay. WOW. SEXY??? Yeah, Sistar is back with a whole new look. Now, they girls take sexy to the highest possible point without making it into some kind of bad looking video. Which I am pretty cool with. I actually think the camera man and director captured some good shots within Las Vegas, Nevada to be included into the video. I really like when the girls are posing on the table. Okay, maybe not. Lying on the table is just the worst thing you can do. I would’ve flipped out if I saw someone lying on my dining room table. I would care more about the table then the person lying on top.

I do like the tight dresses that they are wearing in the music video. They always dress pretty good.

Live Performance

Okay. Another WOW. I just really like the whole sexy concept they have with this comeback. It is just so cool and different from everything else we have seen.

And The Rating?

Okay seriously, I would give this song a 7.6 out of 10.

Have Fun Watching. Troy 😀

Okay this must be asked………………

Lovey Dovey (Zombie Ver.) – T-Ara

Song

Yes, shuffling songs are epic. Yes, Shuffling is epic. Therefore this song is epic. However, there is one big part of the song which I do not like. I HATE THE CHORUS. Lovey Dovey is not a thing to repeat. Especially when this is a really upbeat song. Yes, I am not a fan of T-Ara, however Lovey Dovey does not sound good. It is quite annoying, in my point of view. It is like the next “Friday” (Just not that auto-tuned). Yet again, T-Ara disappoints me with another song.

Music Video

Must I say something. Don’t T-Ara know better than to sing but actually run. Like seriously, they are all dancing to thier new song with ZOMBIES is front of them the whole time. Don’t they realize, that was their cue to leave? Don’t they know ZOMBIES eat human brains? What kind of human beings are they? Unless they want to become the heroes of the day and they just completely fail. When the ZOMBIES actually destory thew fence and eat the guards brain, T-Ara finally relizes that they are screwed. No joking.

Also I learnt another thing from this video. After eating. ZOMBIES like to dance. Yes, after eating T-Ara’s brains, they all start to dance to Lovey Dovey. I wonder if they prefer dubstep or slower music?

Live Performance

I really love the circle part of the dance where they are all in the circle shuffling around. The shuffle with the words Lovey Dovey  felt really weird. I love the hand movements and to me the song sounds a lot like Roly Poly in live performance rather than in the actual full song as well. I also don’t get the hair-hand shake movement of the dance. Is that really a hot thing right now?

And The Rating?

The song and live performance was good. The music video was better. 7/10 is the rating I would give it.

Have Fun Watching. Troy :D

Volume Up – 4 Minute

Song

This is a great song. I don’t really like 4 Minute that much. I am not a fan and do not like any of their song. I find most of their song awkward or not appealing. This song on the other hand is much different. I love it and am totally digging it. It has that Spanish feel to it that we got in Mona Lisa with the accordions and now this song has some instrument which I unfortunately can’t identify. Yeah, me and music theory don’t go well together, but I still passed class  by playing “Ode To Joy” and an Elvis Presley song. The rap in the song is the most concerning part of the whole song for me. I am actually in the middle with the rap. Half of me says the rap should not have been included in the song while the other half my body is saying the rap was pretty good and did fit in. Yes, I feel quite weird. I also heard the song is actually quite controversial because of its lyrics suggesting that girl groups are becoming more sexier and are losing their main job of becoming singers but instead as sexy models. I am quite disappointed about this because 4 Minute is actually telling the truth. Many girl bands nowdays are losing the singing factor and instead are becoming really inappropriate singers/dancers to watch.

Music Video

The music video actually adds a different style to the many videos of KPOP. This song is nothing about sexy dances (There are sexy dances in this song however they are not focused on that much in here). The song is much more myertious, like Brown Eyed Girl’s Cleansing Cream or Sixth Sense. There is so much here. Take their setting. They are like in these places which may or may not creep you out and give the sense that not that much people enter these areas, so we can say that the girls are like some where trapped. The mysterious vibe is added onto by the creepy looking vampires that happen to appear behind them just before the first chorus breaks out. Wait, are they really vampires or DEATH EATERS? KPOP and Harry Potter have finally intercepted each other. LOL. I can now go and reread Deathly Hallows for the 15000000000000000 time. The only thing I have to complain about in this video is the very start. Hyuna is possessed in the music video. Yeah, beside showing us she is a vampire, there is not much to say. Oh and if Cube Entertainment was trying to scare their viewers, they failed. My experiences so you can’t comment here.

Live Performance

Okay, yeah. This song changed nothing with my point of view on 4 Minute singing live. They just can’t do it. Beside that, the dance is pretty cool. I like it a lot. Most favourite part is actually when 4 of the members are circling the fifth member and pointing at her. Also when Hyuna raps and they all put thier hands up was pretty good as well. WHY CAN”T DANCES BE THIS SIMPLE? THEY LOOK COOL AND AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

And The Rating?

I would give this song an 8 out of 10. A Really Good Song.

Have Fun Watching. Troy 😀

Okay, This must be asked…

Perfection – Super Junior M (Korean/Chinese Ver)

Song

Don’t you love it when there are two versions of the same song, just in two different languages and both are released around the same time. Life is like this. Its great that SM Ent. is expanding into overseas countries, but I think its time to go back  to Korea and restart some of your bands activities. Yeah, no offence but I think bands like Super Junior and SNSD are getting old and might soon need replacing. (I don’t want to die D: )

Anyway, I like both versions of the song. This may be alarming, but I am half Chinese and yet I don’t understand the Chinese Version of the song (I don’t know any Chinese). But, still they are good songs. They have this catchy beat to them that sounds really good. This song depicts how the perfect lady should be. Is it me or Kyuhyun gets the most lines in the song? He sings like what? 50 % of the song while the others have to split the other half evenly? I also like Zhou Mi’s part of the song. For me, it is the highlight of the song.

Music Video

Okay, another one of those music videos that have no plot what so ever but only cool dance moves and close ups so close, that we can see up their noses. Only Joking, they are not that close. Only two things to comment about, SM’s 360 degree camera and those fur hats. Lets just hope no animals were killed in the making of the video for the fur hats. That would be sad.

Live Performance

I’m not sure of the live performances. I mean they are just the dance. Only the dance.

Oh but also, I always find Super Junior full band or sub-units are good at singing live. Hey I’ve got to write something at least you know…

And The Rating?

I would give this song a 7.83/10.

Have Fun Watching. Troy 😀

Chinese Version of Perfection

Korean Version of Perfection

Ma Ma My – F1RST

Song

This is an alright song, in point of view. Some of the underrated bands of KPOP are pretty good. Now this song could’ve been better in my point of view but then again, they are underrated and don’t get much fame than most rookie groups.

I really like the beat of the song, it is pretty addictive. I am actually sitting here wondering why they don’t have much fans. Anyway, I actually think the vocals in this song is actually neutral or standard. I won’t say their bad or the worst vocalists out there but just neutral. I am surprised. From memory, I thought there is a rap. I was wrong. 😦

Music Video

Okay, must get something off my chest. The Blonde Girl was scary.

Okay, well there is not much to the music video exect for the ratio of 85 (Dance) to 15 (Plot).

It is basically about a guy who tries to win a girls heart. He succeeds just at a dance off or some show off dance party on the streets. Great place to find love.

Yeah, that is it. Off to the dance.

Live Performance

The dance here is not that catchy to be honest. There is no move that makes me want to dance or anything. So yeah. I have nothing to write here. WAH!!!! 😦

And The Rating?

I would give this a 7.16 out of 10. No , that is not exact. Exact is 7.166666666666666667. LOL.

Have Fun Watching. Troy. 😀

Lucky Guy – Kim Hyun Joong

Song

Based on my liking & point of view, this song was a very big letdown. I preferred Please & Break Down (Which I actually did not like). However the chorus is very catchy & I quite enjoyed it. Yeah however I really don’t anything else about the song.

Music Video

Arrggh!!! I DISLIKE THIS MUSIC VIDEO. At first I thought of a James Bond kind of theme. The closest the music video got according to my theory is the picking up girls and casino playing. The teasers did not get me into the flow of the song. The teasers did not suit the music video or song in my point of view even though they are small sections of the video. Maybe that is just me. Now I have to ask, since when did girls would start stripping out in public especially when there is a guy nearby? Sick way of getting guys. Do not listen to this girls.  The music video is a bad teacher. But it also teaches never to date guys who suck at gambling. That’s right. If he loses money, you can be up for betting. *Shivers*. Anyway, i do like the concept that the girl is actually a spy and she looked very cunning and smart when she left Kim Hyun Joong. Very smart, very very smart.

Live Performance

Yeah, I don’t like the full red suit. I particularly like the performance from the MAMA 2011. Yeah, even though I know the whole thing was rehearsed by the performance was pretty good. Suzy was really good looking. The dance is pretty cool and not to complicated. Well, expect for the start, because the dance at the start looked complicated and well time.

And The Rating?

I would give this a 7/10. Also, you may notice, I rewrote this review for some particular reason.

Have Fun Watching. 😀 Troy.

Be Quiet – Kim Wan Sun ft. Jun-hyung (Beast)

Song

Well, when this song first came out I was like “Yeah Cool Song”. Listening to it on the loop. Now, It is lucky to even be seen with my own eyes when I look for songs on my phone. But I still think this song is a good song. It has a catchy beat, some catchy words “Be Quiet”, and good raps and vocals as well. No offence, but apparently Kim Wan Sun is a legendary singer. If it was not for this song, I would not have heard of her. But no offence, she is a good singer. The rap is pretty good. I must also say this song must hold the record for the song with the words “Be Quiet” the most. 40% of the song must be the words Be Quiet.

Music Video

Damn, apparently she is 40+ years old. I must say with the energy in the song which she sings and the way she films her videos, she is only in were early 30’s. Which is pretty amazing. But I must say, why does Jun-hyung only gets to go wild on the set? He smashes a keyboard (a computer one to be exact, which is not really cool in my eyes) and goes wild with something that looks like a fire extinguisher. All Kim does is dance and be sexy. Fun much? well, I guess she has to act her age right? Right?

Also another world record for this music video as well. The most close ups ever. LOL.

Performance

The dance here in this song is pretty basic. Its not that hard. Yeah, I wish I can explain things without it sounding like an erotic themed story, but it always end up sounding like an erotic themed story.

And The Rating?

I would give this a 9.3.

Have Fun Watching. 😀 Troy.

Stranger – SHINee

Song

Okay, I must confess. I hated this song at first. I think I was more pre-occupied with the fact that Sherlock was Note and Clue combined. Yeah, I at first, did not like the feel of the song. It seemed very distant from thier toher songs like Hello, Ring Dong Ding, Lucifer, Sherlock.  Did not like the start at all because it was so sudden.

But then again, the song started to grow on me bit by bit. But I just can’t sit around listening to the song. My attention would shift from the song to another thing like homework or to finding another song. The vocals are pretty good in this song though and so are the raps. Well, I must say, this is song is much better than Hello.

Live Performance

Okay, I must admit. They are wearing clothing from Lucifer and Ring Dong Ding. Back to this style. I approve. It was pretty epic I must say the performance. The dance was pretty epic. Just I’ll chose Sherlock over this song anyday.

And The Rating?

Yeah, as I said before, Sherlock any day. 7/10.

Madonna – Secret

Song

Another song which I like. It has the catchy chorus (Ma-Ma-Ma-Ma-Madonna-donna, Ma-Ma-Ma-Ma-Madonna-donna~). Damn right it is. It is like Magic, Shy Boy, Starlight Moonlight and Love Is Move altogether. All a very catchy and the lyrics especially can relate to Madonna.  Also, Madonna can be related (metaphorically) to any of the girls in the world.

But beside that, the songs is alright. I love this song however just can’t find words to describe it. Blame Writer’s Block.

Music Video

I must say this, however all the dresses in the music video and the stage performances are just stunning. I think Secret is the only girl group in KPOP that looks particularly stunning in any dresses, long or short. I prefer many other groups to be wearing dresses that are short (not too short though) or long (not too long though as well, don’t want any accidents on stage or on the red carpet do we now?). I also love the setting of the music video. It is stunning and also makes the dresses stand out. Its gold and pretty and also very bright, much different from the other KPOP videos nowadays.

I just wish to say something. I think the leather was too much. Nothing good about leather that brings the “Madonna” out of them.

Live Performance

Another very addictive dance for another addictive song. Waving arms are pretty cool. I think all KPOP songs that have a dance always have this particular dance that must be performaed to it. Lucifer, Ring Dong Ding, Sorry Sorry, Nobody, I Don’t Care, Magic, OK etc.

And The Rating?

I would rate this a 8.6.

Have Fun Watching. Troy 😀

I Remember – Bang Yong Guk (B.A.P) ft. Yang Yoseob (Beast)

Song

OMG, this must one of the best ballads yet. Rapping and vocals were superb. I never would’ve thought that these two, one a good rapper (Bang Yong Guk) and the other is one of the best vocalists in the KPOP industry (Yang Yoseob). The song is not a good song that people would say “Sounds good.” This song is a song where people would say “OMG, IT IS SO GOOD.”

Like come one, you must agree with powerful raps and powerful vocals, this song is hard to beat. I also felt that there was something familiar between this certain song and Going Crazy by Song Ji Eun featuring Bang Yong Guk. Am I getting somewhere now?

This song tells the story about a guy who remembers the memories of his lover. Along with the music video which I don’t want to discuss the music video here, but we get the sense that the person has actually died and is remembering the past.

Music Video

Wow oh wow. Is this music video banned by the MOGEF yet? Did you see the back of the guy’s head explode outwards? Did you see the amount of shots he took to the body? I would be very surprised if the music video is not banned yet. But if my memory serves me right, it was banned.

As you can see in the music video that even until the last moment in a person’s life, love can so be so powerful. The guy proved his true love to his girlfriend who happened to be kidnapped at the last moment. He storms through all the bullets to just get to the other side to be with his girlfriend until the last moment where all their happy memories come back to both of their minds until reality took over and said that they were both going to die.

I have some complaints. Firstly the road or tunnel which the gun-fight took place, is that not the same place where Kim Hyun Joong filmed a part of his music video for Break Down. (Something unrelevant, but the atmosphere in the music video for Warrior by B.A.P is exactly the same). Also, for some reason the police seemed to be pretty crap. They could not keep a guy out of gun fight and kept shooting at him during the gun fight. Seriously police? There are other people much better than you are.

Live Performance

There is a live performance? There is a performance but only featuring Daehyun, a member of B.A.P (Bang Yong Guk’s band), but this review clearly states I would be reviewing the orginal version. But if you want to see, I will link you it here. It is still epic.

And The Rating?

I would give this song/music video a 9/10.

(NOTE: I swear I wrote a review for this music video before. Deja Vu?)

Have Fun Watching. 😀 Troy

Black & White – G.Na

Song

This is a great song. I was addicted to it for some time and now she is one of my favourite solo singers. Black and White is a very pretty song but at the same time very sexy. It is like the equivalent to Katy Perry, both very famous in their industry and have influential songs. The song is no exception. This is just your basic KPOP song, just more modern. There is not actual stand out part in the song for me. The song was just neutral or standard to me. “Black And White~”.

Music Video

Ummm… Another standard music video for me. Nothing really to comment on. Except for lovers who find it hard to be alone and jealous when the other speaks to friends. This is what all relationships should be nowadays not just sex, fame and money. Also I like the background for the dance sequence. Very ummm… black and white. Yeah, I am running out of things to comment on.

Oh by the way, did you see how cute she was when she saw snow? At 1:08? LOL.

Live Performance

I really like her live performances. She is one of those singers who can sing live very well. The dance was also very creative. It reflected the beat. Very nice. I love the chorus bit of the dance. It was very nice.

And The Rating?

Under the new system (LOL, I need to change this), I would give this a 7.6 out of 10.

Have Fun Watching. Troy. 😀

Tick Tack – UKISS

Song

This by far is my favourite U-Kiss song to date. It’s catchy and addictive. It also has this heavy dance mix to it, which is different from their other songs like Man Man Ha Ni, Neverland etc. Also I must mention it, but this is definitely one hell of a debut into such a competitive industry. No wonder all their fans have been fan-girling (or fan-boying?) about their debut when this song came out, in December. Damn, I should be more quick to review some songs.

Anyway, all parts of the song I enjoyed. However not knowing any Japanese, I don’t really understand the song. But I quite enjoyed the whole song. It was quite nice and enjoyable to listen to.

Music Video

Okay so this music video is basically 90% dance and 10% haunted house. So I guess I would be talking a lot about the dance rather than the music video. The haunted house basically an abandoned house where no one could have been stuffed sweeping the floor, hence why there is a lot of dust on the ground. They are all holding watches which symbolises they want go back in time and yeah, that is all I have. There is basically nothing interesting in the music video. I normally discuss the dance in the live performance part of the whole review.

Live Performance

Well, U-KISS never fails at a dance. Neverland, Man Man Ha Hi, Binguel Binguel are just evidence of this. This dance really sets them apart in the KPOP and JPOP industry. Even at the start where the song builds up and just launches itself into a dance track really proves to me and many others that they are different. Their hand movements mimic clocks and also reflect the tone of the tune. In my point of view, they are the leading dance boy group out there in the KPOP industry and maybe the JPOP industry. Even the dance sequence that starts around 2:06 is really awesome. Sigh, If they come back with another ballad of some sort….

And The Rating?

Under the new rating system, I would give this a 9/10.

Have Fun Watching. Troy 😀
