HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM KPOPreviewed!!!

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!!!!

It is finally Christmas and I am excited! And the year is already up. Sadly though. However, shall we continue with a more different review this time around? But before that, I just would like to wish everyone who will read this post a Merry Christmas. Enjoy your time, with family, friends or anyone else. Be thankful and be safe. Let’s enjoy the final few days of 2013 and ready to party with 2014. Anyway, today, it is really more of an impromptu review. Not score will be given for these reviews. I have review Lonely Christmas by Crayon Pop and Miracle Of December by EXO. There are however four more Christmas songs that I want to review and today will be three song reviews in one! Shall we get started???

Christmas Song – United Cube

United Cube is back with a lovely slow Christmas song that showcases the groups under A Cube Entertainment and Cube Entertainment. The artists in this song include: Beast, 4Minute, APink, G.Na, Huh Gak, Roh Ji Hoon, BTOB and Oh Ye Ri. Wow that is a lot of artists. Also included is Kim Gi Ri, the comedian for Gag Concert. The song has this soft tune that reminds you of a warm Winter’s night, like Christmas Night. Though the song starts off really slow and it takes quite a while for it enter a more Christmas-like song, by the end, you are bound to remember those warm Christmas nights with your loved ones. I think the rap was handle really well in this song which is pretty good, considering how raps tend to ruin a good song. And the whole song, vocally, sounds amazing.

 Love Falls – Romantic J

Now we are getting into the more festive songs. This song may sound like a love song, which it is. I really love the jingle bell feel of the instrumental and how the vocals in this song are not hard hitting as powerful vocals. Though Jonghyun from CNBlue does not have as much lines as Juniel, the song still sounds amazing. His husky voice fits the tone of Juniel’s voice which makes the song have this beautiful duet. The song is quite addictive and sounds really good. I have been lipsyncing to this song since it came out. Though the music video may seem more of a romantic story, the song still carries the Xmas cheer. Yay! Also, this is a duo that I would love to hear more from.

Winter Propose – Jellyfish Entertainment

This song is the only song that is really close to those Christmas carols we here every year. Not exactly what I like, but it still does. It features all the artists of Jellyfish Entertainment including: VIXX, Seo In Guk, Sung Si Kyung, Park Hyo Shin and also a mysterious female singer (do I hear a singer debuting next year?). This song sounds amazing and really has that festive cheer to the song. It combines all of the artists of Jellyfish Entertainment and amazes me a lot. Though I was not much of a fan of their previous Christmas song and also their more experienced singers, this song gives you that warm feeling that makes you remember Christmas day and eve a lot.

Snow Candy – Starship Planet

The final song which gives off the happiest Christmas feeling of the year. It features Sistar, K.Will and Boyfriend and seems the most enjoyable song out there for memories of family and friends. Again, this song, along with the others vocally sounds amazing and the rap seemed to be handle really well by Bora and the Boyfriend rappers. Of course K.Will and Hyorin holds the main vocal part of this whole company venture, but with this song, I am going to let it slide. The music video also seems to be the most festive one out of the four. Pity that Dasom from Sistar was not a part of the filming, but probably have featured in the he song somewhere. Not sure where though.

Thank you for spending another year with me. Merry Christmas to all, wherever you are on this planet. Be happy and I will see you next time!!!!

Goodbye 20 – Lim Kim

Source: http://okpopgirls.rebzombie.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Lim-Kim-Goodbye-20-MV-2.jpg

Finally a Lim Kim review. It is my first Lim Kim review and I really wanted to do Alright, but time prevented me from doing so. Sad, I know? Anyway, she debuted as solo artist this year and she comes from the duo Togewrol. The other half of the duo is Denny Do, who had to return to America before the duo could formally debut in South Korea. Alright was an awesome solo debut song, though it took time for me to like the song. Her next few releases were not that great and really lacked appeal. I felt like she returned with such an awesome song.

The song talks about a girl saying goodbye to her age of 20. For those who don’t know (like me), but I am totally sure South Korea recognises teenagers turning into adults at the age of 21. I guess I like the song because of her soulful voice which is really unique and the rough guitar instrumental, which gives the song the more down to earth and earthy feel that the song has. I also like the breakdown of the chorus which makes it sound so good. Not sure about her swearing part though, but I guess it makes sense in this song. I also like how the chorus is totally different to the rest of the song. Like totally different and has a totally different feel as well. Honestly, this is a really good song. Sadly it did not get the recognition that it should.

The music video is not what I expected. It seemed like a music video that would have been awkward to film. But anyway, the music video seemed to be quite cutesy and aegyo which really does not fit the true meaning of the song. There was a lot of balloons of all different shapes and sizes, but beside that nothing really that interesting. Oh beside her gloves on her feet. But I guess that is her way (or the director’s way) of rebelling against the age 20, or the way they would welcome the new age. But yeah, music video was not expected at all.

7/10. Still pretty good, but the music video could have summed up the song a whole heap better.

Before I leave, tomorrow is Christmas Day, which technically means todays Christmas Eve.  That being said, I would like to wish you all:

A safe, joyful and MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!

Men In Black – M.I.B

Source: http://kpopnow.com.br/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/mib.png

This by far has to be one of the best songs of the year. Was not a fan of the song until now, but I can still do a review for it right? Well, too bad. Hahaha…. I have not reviewed an M.I.B song for a very long time. The last time was the So It’s Hard For Me, back mid last year. Now, a year and a half later, maybe a little more time to fit a new review in? They made their comeback at the end of July and have amazed fans with such a catchy song. Now, the song is called Men In Black or alternatively Dash. Their name: M.I.B does not stand for “Men In Black” but  instead “Most Incredible Busters”. Hmmm….

The song is really catchy. I am not really a fan of their songs, but I have to admit Men In Black was really good and their latest song, which I happen to forget the title, is quite catchy as well. There is this really cool electro instrumental that actually sounds pretty cool. The rapping here is much better than other songs that they have released in the past. The chorus is not addictive, but really works well. The part that is really catchy is the “modu deuri deuridae modu deuri deuridae” part. Now, there is another section in the lyrics that kind of was excessive which was good, but kind of weird. The list of clothing items the guy owns. Like a lot of “black” items. I also felt like they did a good job with the girls voice, giving the song that difference that sets it a part other songs. Really good song.

Of course when you look at the title, you think Aliens, Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, awkward spies and amazing but weird gadgets right? Well, minus the actors and the aliens, you got yourself a really awkward parody of the famous show. I assume, they get zapped by the Neuralyzer. That silver stick that “clears their memory”. I guess it clears the guys memories and they transformed into the “Men In Black” aka. M.I.B. That or they were injected with some memory drug which transformed them into what fan girls would call: Gods Of Sexiness. Awks. It was interesting, but did not really seemed to be as amazing as the song as I would have expected. Sadly so. But still pretty cool and interesting.

The dance fits the song and is really addictive. Though it is weak compared to the song and really looks like a lousy job by the choreographer, I still think the dance suits the song. Not sure about the expressionless girls though. They look creepy. Like this: (Was going to insert the picture of the Grudge here, but that would be a little too mean.)

8/10. Satisfied and one of their best comebacks yet. I like their latest song, but have not really heard the song that much nor have I seen the music video.

Gone – Jin

Source: http://kpop365.files.wordpress.com/2013/11/screen-shot-2013-11-04-at-9-36-18-am.png

Okay, I have to admit it. I have been trying my very best to put off this song. I was not really thrill to do a review for this song, but since I already have done a review of a song with a audio track and live performance, I thought maybe I should change it around a bit and do a review with an audio track and a music video only. And no, that EXO member did not debut under a a female solo name. Instead he cameo in the music video, which majority of this review will be about.

The song is okay. Not the best song out there to be honest, but I guess we will have high hopes of this girl’s band when they debut under Woolim Entertainment next year. I think the vocals were lacking and quite boring in this song. There was nothing that appealed me to the voice. Though, her voice does fit the level of emotion in the song, I have to say, I am quite disappointed with the song. The song did not really build up and remained at the same level for most of the song, which is disappointing. Beside those high notes at the end though. The chorus is not as great and the song lacked a lot. Sorry.

As for the music video, wow. Finally another KPOP video with a decent plot in it, that I can understand and feel for. We are introduced to the strict piano teacher, a ill boy and a blind girl. The ill boy was just learning how to play the piano when he meets the girl. Anyway, skip forward to their next lesson. Xiumin (the boy) sees that the girl getting scolded for playing the piano horribly. Well, I would have to say, but give the blind girl a break. Xiumin goes to help and teaches the young girl, which deceives the teacher. They bond with each other afterwards. But even when they think no one is looking, it seems that the teacher has eyes everywhere. Xiumin ends up getting dragged away from the girl, but the girl only discovers his “medicine” which I don’t think she knows what it is. She becomes worried. Until one day where she senses that her true love has come back, only to have him die the next minute (maybe from his escape from the hospital). Now his body is taken away (probably to be dumped), however the teacher knows that Xiumin and the girl love each other, so he even though is quite strict, continues playing the song that Xiumin was playing before he died, to ensure the girl that he is okay. Or maybe a different hidden message. I have to say, all the acting in this video from all three parties are amazing. And the music video was beautiful plot. You get a sense when time has flown from looking at that candy jar and I am just amazed.

Though the song was not amazingly great and the music video was AMAZING, I have to give this a 7.5/10. Most of it is the video though, but still pretty good.

Though JIN was not nominated at all this year for the BOBs, you can check out the other winners, HERE!!!

Heaven’s Door – Eric Nam

Source: http://annyeongeurope.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/mv.jpg

I have been dying to review this song since forever. Sadly it got cut from my list, because of some factors (i.e. most likely because I did not have enough time to be able to sit down and right a full proper review of this song). This was his debut song into the KPOP world and wow, was it an amazing song. Released way back in January 2013, which technically means it has been around a year since this guy promoted his song. Yeah, so I guess my review is “kind of” a year late. Oh well, at least I am doing it. Hahahaha… Please feel sorry for me. I am writing this is 40 degree weather which is extremely hot. Not thinking right.

I don’t know why. But I like Eric’s voice. There is a bit soul and a lot of feelings in the vocals. It actually took me surprised when I first heard the song. I agree with most of the comments under the music video. I do believe that “Heaven’s Door” actually mean “Gateway to Death”. So… I think everything just go so awkward. Though it seems in this context, “Heaven’s Door” actually means the “Gateway to Happiness”. A literal or a subtle way of thinking it. Your choice hahaha… The instrumental is quite upbeat, so it gave it a fresh feel. While songs in Winter tend to be warm or sad, this song is like a Summer song, where it is upbeat and bound to make you happy. South Korea at that time would be in Winter, hence why I made they comment. I actually liked the song in both Summer and Winter. The song is amazing.

The music video is so so. It looks amazing, but at the same time so cheesy. It seems like he has no idea where he is going. Deciding which road to go down. And why are the signals for both directions on his car flashing at the same time???? WHY??? (Sorry, I have been learning how to drive a car here, so…) I think he leaves clue for the girl to find so she can go to him. But wouldn’t that be weird. Like stalk-ish weird? Anyway, his facial expression in some scenes are quite funny, but I have to admit, he is quite handsome. Damn, I am jealous. Look how cheesy the music video was when he is lying in the snow and thinking of this “girlfriend”. Why in quotation marks? Cause I have no idea if he is confessing his love and that he seems to be more comfortable with his love around his dog. At the end, when the dog outside was barking to get Eric’s attention… Umm… He looked quite warm in that jumper, so why did he change into something more thinner? The mysteries of life.

There is no dance to this song, which is a good thing, because if there was a dance, it would ruin the song. Seriously.

8.5/10. This debut was awesome and seriously, we all have high expectations for this guy in the future. Can’t wait until his next release.

Eric Nam was nominated for Best Male Rookie and Best Soloist! Did he win one of them at the BOBs (I am blowing this out of proportion a lot)? Find out HERE!!!!

Do You Feel Me? – Mr.Mr

Source: http://i.imgur.com/vTkymFs.jpg

Mr.Mr recently made their comeback with “Do You Feel Me” on the 8th of November, which technically means it is a recent song. They made two previous comebacks this year: Waiting For You and Highway (which I never got to review). All fo their songs are really catchy and I enjoy listening to this band. Why are they not more known in the industry? Why are they just overshadowed by other bands? I don’t get this.

This song is amazing. End of the story. End of the review. Not if, no buts. Seriously, I really cannot be pleased and enjoyable with any other song. It has this Justin Timberlake feel to it. When I listen to this song, I think of Apologize by Timbaland featuring Onerepublic. It was those days that I enjoyed. Such a cool song back then and still is. No Judging! No, but this song is really amazing. There is a lot of class in this song and it has a a lot of emotions in such a subtle way which makes me enjoy the song even more. The instrumental is really addictive and the vocals as well. I am slo really impressed with the rap of the song. It really gives this song this more of a punch to the song and leads really well into the final chorus of the song. The “Hey, Hey” part of the songs really does sound amazing and so does the “Do You Feel Me?“.

The music video is filmed in the same set in which I believe Volume Up and so many other songs are filmed in. Those music videos were so so, but this music video fits the song really well. I guess in the music videos, the guys are statues or dolls or something along the lines of that, but because the girl touches them, they spring into life and starts dancing. Talking about freaky stuff. But then I guess the guys falls in love with her. My question is why the girls leaves the guys? Too much to handle? Or maybe the guys were forbidden to talk to and hence why there was a lock on the door before you entered? I guess I am speculating. But the lighting and flying snow makes the music video really great.

The dance is amazing as well. It is quite smooth and classy with the microphone stands. Even if they are not singing into the microphones. Yeah, I see those microphones on you faces. They record you singing live, not the hand held ones. Muahahaha…

9.5/10. I am just deducting half a mark for the confusing state the video is in, but beside that nothing else. This comeback is amazing and the best comeback by the band yet.

Airplane – F(x)

Source: http://seoulbeats.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/073113_seoulbeats_fx2.jpg

Even though this song does not have a music video, I believe it is worthy for a review. This song was promoted in conjunction with Rum Pum Pum Pum, the band’s only comeback song for the year. Rum Pum Pum Pum was a disappoint to me as it was not as catchy as F(x) past songs. On top of that, I am not a big F(x) songs as I have been disappointed once before. It is also quite sad that this band does not get the attention they need from their own company. But anyway, this song (plus every other song on the album) did make up for the disappointment I had in RPPP. Below you will see why!

This song is another amazing song. I absolutely love this song. It has this fresh summery feel to it which RPPP lacked, a lot. Though, I am wondering if the band will next come out with a song called rocket or something, I am really happy everytime I hear this song. There is not one bit that is wrong with the song. The song is really quite modern and the vocals in this song is not that bad. The start gets you to sway along with the song and the when the song drops everytime, it just sounds like an orgasm to my ears. Yes, I went there. The chorus is really classy and sounds just right for such a cool song. I also like Amber’s vocals the most, mainly because she has an amazing voice that is not showcased in many songs. “Come With Me, Airplane, Love“.

The dance is quite weak compared to the song, but still looks amazing. I love the use of the chairs and the dance moves with the chairs. The song has that little “spring in your step” kind of beat, and I am pretty happy that they included that “spring in your step” in the choreography.

9/10. Obviously much better than Rum Pum Pum Pum. Why not “Come With Me” and listen to this song together?

Twinkle Twinkle – Girl’s Day

Source: http://cdn10.mixrmedia.com/wp-uploads/ningin/blog/2011/03/vfdg4.jpg

I know, I know. This song is like 593456349650235609 years ago. But, I still am able to review it??? Let’s have a throwback moment. Girl’s Day is currently known for their mature and sexy style, but did you know that they came from the more cutesy stuff era of KPOP. This is the very song that put them on the map in the industry and gave them the needed recognition that they need. It was actually released in March 2011, which is about to be 3 years ago. Boy, times flies and everything changes. I feel like if I add anything else here, I probably just finish the review here. Hahaha….

I absolutely love this song. This song is really cute, really addictive and really catchy. It was not so when I first saw it, but after a while, it grew on me. This song is so amazing, it was the first song to reach the top of the charts and enter the top positions of the music weekly charts. On top of that, this song was a hit for men, particularly those in the army. So boys, I guess it is time to start listening to this track, cause your gonna like it as well. The “Hajima hajima mamamama mamamama Gajima gajima mamamama mamamama” part is really addictive and catchy. Seriously, you will love this song. Everyone who I have met and enjoys listening to KPOP, really enjoyed this song.

The music video is pretty cute. Not that funny, but I like the exaggeration of the music video. This girl is in love with this guy, who is hitting on other girls. Hence the girls uses tactics that she is practicing to shake the guy off the other girls and to get him to notice her. Yeah, I guess they failed, but instead it seems like all the girls and the guy are in on this together or something, because I really cannot find a way to explain that last scene where they are all standing around Minah. But anyway, I guess it used to funny but now since I have matured (LOL), I don’t mind it as funny as before. I don’t remember, but I am quite certain that it was this song and video that gave me a WTF face.

The dance is really cute as well. I think this is their weakest dance to date, as it really does not display their aegyo as I would have expected it would. There were some cliche moves which annoyed the crap out of me, but beside that, I was satisfied.

8/10. Pretty good song, video and dance that really was meant for winning. Sadly they did not, but now they have secured a bigger fanbase, maybe, just maybe it is time to see these girls rise to be one of the biggest bands ever.

Why Goodbye – The BOSS

Source: http://i0.wp.com/24-7kpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/Screen-shot-2013-11-28-at-11.01.58-PM.png?resize=770%2C472

The BOSS recently returned to Korea with a new song. It has been a long while since the band had a comeback in Korea. I never heard of the band so I had to dig something up on the band to talk about. For those, like me, who have no clue who these guys are, let me give you a run down. This bands promotes much more in Japan than in Korea. They came from the the company, Open Entertainment, but soon left after it caused trouble. The band this year signed a contract and returned to Korea after a two year hiatus. Their debut song was “Admiring Boy”, and because of this song, they were quite popular as a rookie group. They are also referred to as DGNA.

This song is amazing. I recently sat down and watched their debut song, and wow, what a change. This song has this seriousness feel to it that makes it so eye catching. The song is not overly epic, but focuses on the vocals and had this acoustic and orchestral feel to it. Basically, it does not contain that much electro and modern beat. I don’t know if this would be an insult, but the song can be described as “simple”. There is nothing complicated in this song or hard to get into. It is really addictive. I don’t think the chorus is the best part of the song, but I really like the guys vocals. I think the English lines in the song like: “Why Goodbye”, “Don’t Break My Heart” have this really addictive feel to it, which makes me go back to the song more and more. The song talks about how a guy does not want to let his girl go, despite she wanting to leave him. It has really beautiful lyrics.

The music video is really a big standout. Like the song, the music video is quite simple. Black and white filter and then there no weird and awkward sets or huge neon signs and plasma tvs. Instead, there is only a white backdrop. Still pretty cool. I think the reason why I like this video, because the video puts emphasis on most of the English words in the song. By putting emphasis, I actually mean by displaying the word in the video for us to see, in a really cool font. The only complaint I have, are the block lines. They focus the music video for most of the time, but for a some amount of time, they become a distraction for me. Like it is covering a section of the screen that I want to see. But despite that, it is a really cool music video.

The dance is pretty cool. It is very different to the music video and song. While they are simple and smooth, the dance is rather jagged and sharp. I like it.

9/10. Why should I dislike such a cool band? They are now on my radar, hopefully, next time they come back won’t been 2 years down the track!

Flower – Junhyung (Beast)

Source: http://www.soompi.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/YONGJUNHYUNG_teaser-800×450.jpg

Junhyung is the next member of Beast to go solo. After a year since Yoseob debuted as a solo singer, Cube Entertainment unleashed their next big surprise. Shadow was pretty cool. But to me, this debut song was not exactly the best song out there.  I have to give props to Junhyung for attempting and doing really well for a pretty edgy theme. Anyway, this is not my final review for the year, but sadly is the last major review of the year. Though I know other artists are coming back, I have to have a cut off date for the charts. I will only be doing another 2-3 reviews for more recent songs and on top of that, I will be going back to review songs that I have missed, but really wanted to review. And also past songs from previous years.

Wow, this song is rather interesting. It is rather weak for a solo debut song. There was nothing to grab me in this song, to make me go back to it more and more. At first, I thought this comeback would be that weird, as the rapper (probably who I view as the strongest and manilest member of any band) is doing a song called “Flower”. But, boy was I wrong. It had a similar feeling to Caffeine, which I believe Junhyung wrote for Yoseob. It had that chic but modern feel to it that made the song unique. It also had its RnB sounds in it as well. Maybe when he was writing the song, he did go overboard with the ratio of English lyrics compared to Korean words. But if you read the many English translations, they actually fit into the song. He likens the girl to a flower, and in the lyrics he mention the sweetness of chocolate and a lollipop, saying that the girl is a flower that is equally sweet as the candy. Pretty cool. Though, I like the chorus, I don’t think the high pitch parts in it are suited for him. I guess he maybe pushing himself a little too hard. But overall the song was pretty cool. Not as cool and badass as I expected, but still pretty cool.

As for the music video. I hope that was a fake or dead butterfly. I hope the person who decided to put a scene of it burning was in a sound mind and did not torture the little blue butterfly. Anyway, I thought the music video was pretty cool. Not sure about Junhyung dead in a fridge parts though, but I guess that is what made the whole comeback seem edgy to me. I really want to know how they filmed Junhyung’s head only, but I probably think they just put him in a box and made a hole so he can stick his face out. Not really fond of the whole mirror camera thing. It did give the music video more a heightened scary theme, but really they used it too many times already. At least someone was smart enough to put flowers in this music video, cause the music video would be a pile of dung without the flowers. Overall I was quite happy with the outcome of the music video, just that one dance scene where he has things dangling down his hat. Please, you’re not Australia. Don’t wear that.

The dance is pretty cool. Something I would’ve expected from a Beast member, or their backup dancers. I actually enjoyed the dance. Everytime they hit the chorus, the members became flowers, i think, by standing on their heads and bending into awkward positions. Now, that I made things awkward….

7/10. Not as great as I would have expected. But still works. How did you guys like the debut? Successful or just another one of those comebacks?

I Do I Do – Secret

Source: http://www.soompi.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/secret_idoido-800×450.jpg

Secret is back with a new Christmas single this time around. After finishing promotions for YooHoo as a group, filming dramas and Song Ji Eun’s recent promotions with Hope Torture, the group is set to grace the stage with a comeback full of cuteness and adorableness. I think this is the first year where there are loads of comeback on the topic of Christmas. Last year, there were a few songs on the celebration, but they tend to be more company collaboration within the company. Those songs still exists, but more and more bands are coming out with Christmas themed songs, which are pretty amazing. But still shocking to know that the year is about to end. :(.

This song is pretty good. I really am disappointed that Secret has gone for something Christmas themed. Seems quite desperate for a comeback. But I feel the song fits them quite well. I actually prefer them in their sexy form, but this song still rocks. This songs looks like it was thrown together in 5 minutes, which sounds like their company and producer did not take this seriously.  It was catchy, but it was not memorable. This probably has to be their weakest song ever. But regardless, I felt that their vocals are improving. Hana (the rapper) actually has a pretty good voice and sounds pretty cool. The only part of the song which I really enjoyed is Song Ji Eun’s bridge, because it gave the song that extra lift. Not so great this time around girls.

The music video again is quite ..  boring. There is nothing to talk about, except for the trending one shot videos. This song has a “somewhat clear plot” where this guy gets invited to this party. Interesting. Not really. Sorry, I was completely bored of this video. The lighting was so bright, which kind of ruined the video. Though some parts were cute (i.e. walking letter box and walking rubbish bin), this music video looked like something that was shot in 5 minutes and planned in approx 10 minutes. The music video did not show off the girls style, but instead confined the girls. Look at YooHoo, not much of a great video, but compared to this, much better by 10000.

The dance is quite cute, but not really that great. It really is not catchy, but shows off the simplicity of the girls. Though I think more could have been done, the dance fits the song quite well and suits the song.

5/10. Secret is one of my favourite groups in the industry, but seriously this comeback is lacking in so many ways.

Glue – Nine Muses

gnm

Nine Muses are finally back with a song. It was literally weeks ago since they finished promotions for Guns, that now they are back with another G letter titled song. This means this is the fourth song that the band had promoted this year. The other songs include: Dolls, Wild, Guns and now this. And look at how this band has grown. I think now some groups have realized that to be successful, you have to work your assess off and make a comeback more than twice a year to be able to compete. Numerous bands who only made one comeback this year are have been unsuccessful at maintain constant awards, giving us the fact that KPOP has reached its climax. But regardless, Nine Muses is growing and so is the number of fans they have.

I freaking love this song. When I saw and heard the teaser, I thought that the song would be another repeat of Guns. Boy was I wrong. I loved it as soon as I heard it. There is nothing wrong with the song. The rapping and vocals are doing really well. It seems like in little time, these girls will be challenging the other group group with 9 members. It has that disco feel to it from the early times (sorry, I forgot the era), which I am not fond of, but the girls seem to have pulled it off fine. The chorus is really catchy and that autotuned voice that says “I don’t know what to do” is really addictive. I also really like those claps throughout the whole song. They give the song more of an addictive style for me.

Okay, the music video could’ve have been much more epic than this. Maybe it was the small time frame they had to prepare for it? But those red skin tight suits have to go. Not a fashionista, but they don’t really make the girls look good. Now, I am not saying the skin tight suits, but actually the colour red. That or the lighting in this music video has to go. It makes those suits into more of a horrible orange colour which does not complement the girls. And those “wonderful” colour effects they had in the video. Lose them. They were such a distraction to watch, and I believe if it was just the girls dancing, the music video would’ve been fine. But it was not, and sadly they annoyed me. It was basically like After School’s First Love all over again.

The dance is really addictive. Another but swaying dance to go onto the list of dances the year. Seems like the butt is going to be famous after this year. But seriously, after watching the dance and listening to the song, all I can think of is the dance. I can imagine the girls dancing to each part just from hearing the guys. Now that is something that all artists should do. Not too complicated. I also liked how they incorporated most of the claps into the dance. Pretty cool.

9/10. Much better than Guns and this song is fast becoming one of the best Nine Muses songs ever in my mind. Now that being said, what was your most favourite Nine Muses song of the year? Dolls? Guns? Wild? Glue? Choose in the poll below!!!

What Should I Do? – T-Ara

Source: http://www.c-k-jpopnews.fr/wp-content/uploads/BaiRNb5CcAAHZsF-1.jpg

T-Ara is back with a brand new song, as their repackaged mini album. After finishing up promotions for Number 9, the band promised a comeback later in the year with a brand new song. And indeed they just made thier comeback last week with What Should I Do?, a musical type of song, which CCM promised would be a hit, like how Roly Poly was. I am thankful that the band is now back on their feet and going at it again after last year. I should stop reminding myself about last year. It was such a horrible year for them, one that no KPOP band should ever experience.

The song was promised to be a mage hit like Roly Poly. However, was I the only thought that this song is boring? Well, the song compared to Roly Poly is boring. On its won, it is pretty good, but it seems like CCM is promising more than what they can deliver. Yes, the song kind of has it roots in the 70’s era, but it does not sound similar or can top Roly Poly in anyway. I have to say, the ballad version of this song is pretty good, while the actual song is equally pretty cool. I really love the “Hey baby yo~” part at the start of the song. Really catchy. Also, Boram has more lines???? Wow, that is a change. I love the techno beat of the song, giving it a more modern feel to it. The “Na eotteokhae”  part is really addictive. I have to say, the song was pulled off pretty well. As for the comparison though, not so much.

Oh boy, the acting in this video is ridiculously cheesy. Hence why I can never stand watching a musical, because it sounds so cheesy. Their good actresses, but I think they deserved some kind of plot. Their acting in Number 9 was not exceptional, but much better than this. Let’s turn to the clean up scene: there are 6 girls in this scene. 6 distinct personalities. They include: the boss, the really annoyed one, the “obsessed with herself”, the “fudge cake doing this”, the alcoholic and the “I want to be a superstar”. Yeah, was I the only one who loved this scene, more than the whole music video? Yes? Okay :(. But anyway, the acting was not the best, but I love the musical aspects they pulled into the music video and as well as the live performances. Pretty cool.

I love the dance. Seriously, imitated the dance pretty well. I like the musical aspects, where when there are 5 girls on stage, one would walk on later and do her thing, and another would go missing for a short while, like in a musical, when the actors or actresses are not needed for their scene. The dance is addictive and quite easy, like Roly Poly. And I love Eunjung’s and Hyomin’s part towards the end, that part was pretty cool. Though, I cannot pull it off. Hmmm…. Better not destroy your minds with my amazing dancing skills.

8/10. This is pretty cool. Loved it. Maybe the advertising of it could’ve have been better, because like anybody, I don’t like receiving something that is different from what it was advertised as. Where is the return policy?? No, but I liked the comeback.

Miracle Of December – EXO

Source: http://i1.ytimg.com/vi/yVLxRXoLaas/maxresdefault.jpg

EXO is finally back to gift their fans with a brand new mini album. After successful promotions of Growl, their hottest song yet, they released a Christmas album, just in time to all the EXO fans to have under their Christmas tree. This time around they have opted for a weird promotion style. Well, not weird, but abnormal to what bands would have done and I am sure SM Ent has their reasons. But only Chen, Baekhyun, D.O (for Korean version) and Luhan (for Chinese version) recorded this song. After a week of the promoting as a trio, EXO has added Luhan and Lay to the crew, so I cannot wait to see what they have their sleeves (or stockings).

I freaking love this song. Not the point where I am screaming everytime they open their mouths, like some people I know. But this song is freaking amazing. It is like a 180 degree change for the band. Wolf and Growl were choreography based songs that focuses more on the dance, but the song was still amazing. This however focuses on the vocals of the three main vocals of the band. You could feel the emotion in this song.  I loved the instrumental and the lyrics are truly beautiful. The only thing I have to complain about, and I won’t be deducting any points, but the rapping. A part of me does not want to hear a rap in this video, mainly because it is a ballad. On the other hand, a rap could’ve changed the song around a bit and make it more interesting. But beside that: top notch song.

I have nothing to say about the video. It is just like the ballad. Beautiful and amazing. Though, I am going to make the comment with practicing on the facial expressions. Some of the acting is pretty good. Others are not. And why is there that Wolf era scene in the music video with the ring and the lunar eclipse thing. That is really quite confusing and useless in this type of video. Also, Kris as an artist? What is going on? What is this sorcery? The present seems cheesy. The plot of the video seems to be quite boring. And I hope the tuning point is that they are going back in time, but really it is just their imagination.

There is no dance to this song. But isn’t Luhan and Lay the dancers of the group or something? Please don’t tell me that there will be a dance.

10/10. By far one of the best EXO songs out there. It joins the rank of Growl in my mind.

Lonely Christmas – Crayon Pop

Source: http://i0.wp.com/24-7kpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/Crayonpop.jpg?resize=770%2C472

Crayon Pop is finally back with a brand new single. This is their latest songs after the never ending promotions of Bar Bar Bar, the hottest track of 2013, which earned them their first ever award. Lonely Christmas is the upgraded version of Bar Bar Bar which is expected to become the next trend. And it seems that it is going that way. And don’t you worry. I remember them ranking poorly in the first few weeks of their promotions, but slowly getting higher. I have to say they look extremely cute in this comeback and it seems like people are going a little too far to undermine these girls by saying that every song they come out is plagiarise.

The teaser did not sound as great, despite it was the chorus. But as soon as I started to listen to it, I found that the song was indeed catchy. They probably can get a repeat of success like in Bar Bar Bar. But on that topic, sadly, I don’t think the girls will be able to get rid of their Bar Bar Bar image, as they used a section of the song in this song. Kind of annoying. But I loved the chorus. “Na Na Na Na Na Na Na, Hey!” Hella catchy. Okay, I have to admit it, the girls cannot sing. Well, live. Too much autotune is used in this to show their fans their vocal talent. Am I also the person who thought this song was too short? I did like the solo moment that one member had, after the second chorus. As you can tell, I cannot learn names.

The music video is hella cute. Like come on. After seeing the video and hearing the song, I am sure you all smiled. Or am I just joining the Crayon Pop craze. Not, but it seriously cute. Not too the point where I was screaming at the screen when the member in charged of filming stuffed up big time. I am sorry, but I am going to go on about the level of the cuteness. Mainly because there is nothing to speak about in this video. Like nothing. They probably used the same set where they filmed Bar Bar Bar , but instead added a little background touch to it, to make it look “different”. And I love the back was perfectly made and stuff. Just a letter was missing and a triangle as well. So cheesy.

The dance is so cute as well. Who has their hand moving and legs wobbling when they hear this song? I do!!! Not, but it looks really cool. And catchy.

World trend again? We will soon see, but it seems like the girls are going that way. 9/10.
