Dreamer – History (ft. IU)

Source: http://lovequakes.files.wordpress.com/2013/04/history.png

History made their debut recently with Dreamer which to me is a really great song. As dubbed by their company, as the opposite of Fiestar, they are living up to their standards. They are a group of 5 guys, who sound amazing and are great at harmonizing. Seriously if you are looking for a talent male group, this is one that should be on your list. Okay, stop me. Before…..

Spectacular. Amazing. Lovely. Ummm… I am running out of words. Basically, I totally like this song. Though it seems that this is just a rookie group, this group has amazing vocals and really good rapper. Don’t underestimate them, okay? The way they sing the song is really great. If I was to compare them to a well known artist, I guess 5 Whitney Houstons’? Probably a horrible example, but you will get my flow. They rely a lot of vocals which is very important. Their chorus is pretty good, along with their verses. I will be following this group from now on. You betcha! Also, IU’s part seems quite good, after you learn what she really says. If you don’t well, it is just a waste of music, I guess.

The music video, on the other hand, is not that great. It is not memorable like SHINee’s Why So Serious or 4 Minute’s What’s Your Name? each of which I have reviewed (Here) and (Here) respectively. I don’t really understand the music video at all. At first, there seems to be some Russian spy who is really suspicious who is spying on the people who live in the house. Yeah, I am going to stop ruining the music video before I get to the other parts. I love the set which they are dancing on. Looks amazing and really good. Gives off that old Hollywood look to it, which seems to be spread out in the video a lot. That girl too is really pretty. But beside the fact that the music video makes no sense whatsoever, it was okay.

Okay this group is putting their name out there via vocals not dancing. There is not much of a dancing that would be memorable. There is dancing and they seem pretty good at it. But they give off this feel that “I don’t want to dance, because I suck at it”. Good points for giving it a try though.

9/10. Really good.

Why So Serious? – SHINee (minus Jonghyun)

Source: http://cdn.popdust.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Shinee-Why-So-Serious-Feature.jpg

SM Entertainment had a few choices here. Obviously, they chose the worst one of all. Jonghyun recently was involved in an accident, where his nose somehow got injured. It was announced that he would not be able to perform and promote this song with them. Since SHINee had promised that they will make a comeback, they did. At least, someone from SM can keep their promise (Referring to EXO here). But, like some people, I am not impressed with the song as Dream Girl (Review Here!!!). It is a great song, but Taemin, you are just…. Taemin is the dancer of the group. But WHY THE HELL did he GET PROMOTED TO MAIN VOCALIST???? Onew, Minho and Kay got around 40% of the song. Taemin, himself, got around 60% of the song. Disappointment there. At first I thought Onew would get more lines or Minho would have more singing lines. Instead, Minho actually seemed to get less lines in this song compared to Dream Girl. I don’t hate Taemin. I think his voice is good. But I thought at least  the four can split the song up into equal parts. Did not happen at all.

Beside that, the song is quite good. I like the new rock fresh theme. It seemed hardcore. But the use of the high note at the very start did not seem right at all. I thought the bridge of the song was quite lacking and that the start of the song was too powerful. Seems like they got confused. Go home, high note. You’re drunk. But seriously guys. I think this is the best song ever by SHINee. The fresh feel is something that I don’t see many KPOP artists doing. I love the chorus. It is so catchy and sounds really good. The rap also sounded very good. Minho, Key and… Taemin sound pretty good. Taeman seems to have improved greatly with his vocals, along with Key. I would not mind if SHINee (all five members) kept doing rock.

The music video is quite okay. The darkness of the video fitted the the rock beat of the song. The “boxes” that they are in look quite unique. If only other SM artists had good boxes to sing in. I also quite like the PLOT in this video. Really it is just a girl who is fooled by her imagination, thinking she is dating SHINee. When the police come though, SHINee acts all scared. But it turns out the girl was lonely. Forever alone. I had to. I am sorry. I like the contrast between the dark feel and the white room. Quite different in the KPOP world.

The dance to was really cool. Zombies, sleeping dead people and the mini jump. Pretty cool.

8/10. And that is me, excluding my little rant on top.

What’s Your Name? – 4Minute

Source: http://d1i45kki000yqu.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/4min_mv_2.jpg

4Minute is finally back with a brand new, badass song. Described as “Fantasy Hip Hop”, I think the world “Pop” summed the song up really well don’t you think? It is not your average pop song, but it still what I consider as pop. As for our zombie demographic, Hello! Sorry for neglecting you guys. You guys are finally in a video. That and T-Ara’s Zombie Lovey Dovey version. Don’t eat my brains please.

At first, listening to this song. I was quite disappointed. But after listening to it for the 1075895893456489534895x time, I actually find it quite addictive and it, honestly, sounds very attractive. This is the badass song that I have been waiting for since their previous hit songs. They claim the song will take you back to the Muzic era. I don’t really feel anything, except for the fact that I did not go back in time at all. Quite disappointed. I actually like the song. The beat was amazing. I love the chorus and the rap that Hyuna has. The English parts are quite good as well, “What’s Your Name?”. The start however sounded quite familiar. Ice Cream anyone? Just one small complaint though. Give the leader some more lines!!! She seemed quite sad with only like 2 lines in the whole song, while the other members got 609756867567 lines. Seriously!!!

Zombie fail attack
I don’t know why YouTube stuffed up! I blame the flashing lights in the video.

The music video on the other hand seemed quite random. At first, it seemed normal. Until the zombie apocalypse came. Well, just to point it out, they still look quite attractive despite drooling for brains. Yeah, I tap the zombies anyway. Hence, why I am going to focus mainly on the zombie side of the music video. I guess we can say: That was a pleasant surprise  If you were expecting that, there is something wrong with you. If that is a good thing or a bad thing, I won’t say. Now I guess they reacted like normal people when they first say the news. But how they reacted when the zombies came that got me raising my eyebrows. JiHyun (?) is suing her police baton which she basically stole from the policeman earlier in the video to her advantage. So is the maknae, grabbing the chair. As for the other three, crouching down with a bunch of zombies won’t do much. Nor will holding a hairdryer will help your life. What is going to happen? Is the zombie going to be blown away?

As for the dance, I thought it was cool. It also seems that 4 Minute will be going back to their lip syncing problems. That or the performance did not match up with the music. But overall, pretty cool.

7.5/10. Pretty cool overall.

Here is my question: Does the start of “What’s Your Name?” sound like the start of “Ice Cream” by Hyuna? Just like the first two seconds?

Shaking Heart – C-Clown

Source: http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-BiwwbH3BoJw/UWtvGDu_e1I/AAAAAAABPrs/69Nux0T66Ug/s1600/cclown2.jpg

C-Clown is once again on the stages (for a week, I guess) with a new song. Seriously, where did they disappear to? I know they would have other schedules, but it has been 2 weeks since they released their single. It seems like they left. Oh well. Now, I have to make this paragraph longer by typing more. How are you? Okay? Happy? Sad? *Insert funny face here*

Classy yet still keeping their image. Their english at the start, was damn right powerful. Their vocals were superb and the rap was amazing. I really like the beat and instrumental of the song. As I said, it had class in it and sounded really good. The chorus sounded pretty good and was quite addictive. However, like BTOB’s most recent review (Click here for it!), I don’t have much to say about it. I like the song, but also do have this neutral feeling towards it. I don’t think they will win an award with the song. It keeps their image, but the song is not enough to have them win (When I say win, I mean in terms of the song, not the member’s look). Also the ending of the song was abrupt  End of the story.

Wow, was I blown away by the music video or not? That start with the microphone dropping out of nowhere was amazing. Why has no other KPOP director thought of that. Yes, you have swag. Yeah, I had visibility problems. It was either too dark, or the lights were shining at the camera, when they were dancing. I guess they tried of make a dark scene, but add some artificial lighting, but it did not work. The hat dance at the start was pretty cool as well. Also, I felt the scenes with Hyeri in them, were quite distracting. They were all over the place. I understand they did that for the effect, but seriously, she served no purpose to the music video expect fr staring at the camera and hugging a guy’s back.

The dance is pretty cool. Again, there is nothing to comment about the dance. It was okay, nothing that good to talk about or that bad to point out about.

7/10. Pretty good.

Second Confession – BTOB

BTOB is finally back with a brand new song, called Second Confession. My question is, what was their first confession? Yeah, that is me being lame. Yeah yeah yeah, I know that the second confession would mean that a girl which the song is addressed to, had rejected when the guy first confessed. Then the guy is now asking the girl to listen to his second confession. I know. I am not stupid. 😛

The song is quite cutesy than I expected. BTOB is a dance group with funky songs that have a good beat. This, however, was an u turn for their image. Did not expect at all. Yes, I was also quite disappointed. At first, I thought the song sounded weird. It did not appeal to me at all. After listening to it for a few times, I actually liked the song and really enjoyed the instrumental  Yes, maybe it is not the typical BTOB song that we all know, but at least we know they have guts to “experiment”. The vocals were pretty good. I was totally surprised when Sungjae dominated the chorus. Another thing I was also surprised about. Also, I thought BTOB only had one rapper. Now there are two. Mind-ception.

The music video is quite interesting. Like many other videos which I have reviewed recently, I felt they seemed bland and plain. There was nothing that got me to the edge of my seat for this video. There was nothing that I anticipated. I guess I was more occupied about how “fate” got that letter to the girl. But really I thought nothing of the video beside that. It was not good but at the same was not bad. Neutral feeling. What people need more in the world!

The dance fitted the beat of the song. Actually, until I watched the performance the first time around, I realized there was that mini dubstep sound in the song. Random as it is, it fitted the song. It was not that bad, but did not really kept me hanging.

6/10. Okay, I guess.

( I speak on behalf of all the fangirls. Cuteness overload for the Pyjama version of the music video. However, I felt it was random and sudden. I also don’t think the same way as the fangirls).

With Laughter Or With Tears – Seo In Guk

Source: http://mwave.interest.me/data/enews/News/2013041/52871631.jpg

Seo In Guk recently made his comeback unexpectedly (Well, for me) earlier this month. Seo In Guk has a freaking good voice that many in the KPOP industry wish they had. I am quite surprised when I discovered him. I kind of became a fan at once actually. Okay enough of my crap. Lots to say. Lots to omit. Let’s go!

Wow. Boy, do I like this song? Yes. I absolutely loved this song as soon as I first heard it. Okay, I lied. I had to hear it a few times to like the song. But the first time anyone hears this song, you can feel the emotion which Seo In Guk gives out in this song. I personally loved the autotuned part between the first chorus and second verse. It gave a modern feel and at the same time kept the song full of emotion. The emotion did not bring me to cry, but it was really good. The song, however, would have sounded better with some kind of faster beat. Not too fast, but just right.

The music video was quite dark. It kind of sucked. It really felt plain and bland. There was not much difference in the happy and sad scenes of the music video. There was only extra colour in the happy scenes, and that made the whole picture a bit bland. The female lead was really beautiful in this and both acting skills were pretty good. Few things though. Don’t kill me, but that punch made him look funny. Secondly, how big is this particular bedroom. Along why is bed positioned in an awkward angle and at the same time, seemed to have dropped from the ceiling randomly? I also seemed that scene where he apparently “punched” everyone seemed to be quite random. I love it how the mirror is just placed there, solely for the purpose to make sure he looked good and perfect, so no one would be suspicious of him. I, however, loved the cocktail scene. But those ice cubes, what are in them? To break glass just like that? Crazy!

The performance is pretty good. He sounds good live. There is nothing else to say. Look over there!!!

8/10. Really good.

Somebody – 15&

Source: http://www.mtvk.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/k_15and_somebody-teaser.png

15& has finally made a comeback with a brand new song. For those who don’t know, 15& is a duo under JYP Ent (Yes, no whisper this time around). One of the girls is a long time trainee, who has a very powerful voice, while the other came from a KPOP talent show that was featured on TV. Both very talented. They debuted with I Dream, which was deemed as a fail. It seems that they have redeemed themselves with this song, earning an all kill as soon as it came out. Talent there much?

This song has it popish feel to it, something that came out around the 70’s and 80’s. Yes, it sounds like those cheesy songs, but I love this song. It has really a really addictive beat to the song which many songs currently are missing out on. The lyrics and English is exceptional in this song. I was pleased with every aspect of this song. I think this is one of the best songs that JYP has ever made. Beside that, I am afraid, that this “song” part of the review will be quite boring. So lets go on!!

The music video is quite creative. However, it sucks big time. I like the whole idea of the parodying of the KPOP Star, but it lacked in depth. I did like how the girls managed to portray the judges, but the contestants (especially JYP) were horrible. I guess I did not like Dream High due to his acting anyway. This, by far, is the worst music video by JYP. The ending just sucked. The whole video did not suck me into it, as others did (for example, SHINee’s newest music video). I love the set for the dancing parts though. At least JYP did redeem himself in a way. Oh by the way. The box heads were a total distraction. Those jackets as well.

The dance was okay. That last pose, for the guys, seemed “homosexual”. Not that I have a problem with it, but it looked funny. Don’t kill me. I cannot explain that pose without the word. (I support everyone. Gay, lesbian, bisexual or transexual, you guys are all still human and belong in this world. No one should put you down. You are you!). I liked the dance overall. It was quite simple and all you need is the top half of your body.

6/10. Good song and dance. Horrible music video.

Gentleman – Psy

Psy is finally back a new a song. Yeah. That is so lame. Hmmm.. Psy, the father of Gangnam Style, is finally back with a new song, Gentlemen. After taking a dance which he should not have, and a song that never lived up to its standard that Gangnam Style has set, Psy has actually achieved new grounds with this song. Achieving the most views ever in one day after release and becoming top 1 is a million countries. That is a lot considering what world records have been set on the Internet. With forth, the review.

The song is okay. Not as catchy as Gangnam Style (Review Here). I was quite disappointed. As someone did say to me, club beats aren’t that great in Korea, so the song would not rank as high. Yes, it achieved first place on MCountdown and a perfect all kill (If my memory did not stuff up). But that does not mean it was a great song for me. I personally don’t think it is the best song out there. I actually feel that Psy is actually a one hit wonder now. The instrumental, to me, is not that great. I feel that the whole point with Psy to “break” into the American music industry is for no reason. The vocals are okay. Not sure about the wet Psy part though. It sounds weird and at the same time dirty.

The music video is pretty funny. It’s funny I don’t like the song, liked Gangnam Style instead. As for the music video, it is quite opposite. I really did laugh when I first watched this video. Amazing hey? I particularly loved at “The Grasshopper’s” stomach scene and the eating battle between Gain and Psy. Actually come to think of it, Gain was super sexy in this video. I feel happiness surrounding me. I really loved where they danced in some part of the music video, though the last one with a thousand people seemed to be green screen. I love that air or water work thing in the scene in the middle. It looked cool. I also have to mention the product placement in this music video is quite horrible. Double A? Seriously? (I prefer Reflex. I think Australians would only get that). The scenes where Psy is being a “gentlemen” is this video dominates the whole video. Don’t you think so? 😉

The dance is okay. Actually no. I am not that happy with the fact that he took Brown Eyed Girl’s dance and transformed it to fit the song. I know that it is all legal and stuff like that, but I am not happy. It seems like he is ripping them off. But I like the addition to the hand movements of the dance. But if the dance becomes popular, which I personally think it would not, according to my friend: I will die and that I will be also unhappy. Nudge Nudge Wink Wink.

5.5/10. Sorry, but it could’ve been better.

The Day We Broke Up – Z:EA5

Source: http://www.mtviggy.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/k_zea_5_voulez-vous1.png

Z:EA is the next group into the whole subunit ordeal in the KPOP world. This group has already officially debuted in Japan, I am just not particularly sure if this was the exact song they debuted with. Anyway, this comeback is okay, not the best, but okay. Though I am completely 100% that this subunit won’t have a chance at winning an award, but they still stand out for their good reasons. The subunit itself consist of 5 members of which I don’t remember the member’s names: Siwan and Dongjun or something like that + five other members.

The song is not what it seems. At first you see the song title, and think ‘oh well, it is just another sad ballad’. Hands up if you did that? Yes? Okay. But no, we were trolled. This sounds more of a pop song rather than a ballad. The start had its ballad feel to it, but as we get to the chorus, the song changes. Not sure about the start of the song though, the guy just seems to yell out that “they’re back”. Hey, you guys just debuted in a subunit. That is not a form of coming back. The songs itself keeps on repeating itself to me. There is not much of a change to the feel of the song at all. But beside that, the guys sang wonderfully and the rap was pretty good. Okay, the rap did not fit the feel of the song, but it did help flow the song. But sadly the song did not cut it for me. Not for my liking. Hopefully yours?

The music video on the other hand, was quite random. Oh did I say quite random? I mean wrong on so many levels. Hahaha. No but seriously  I am not particularly sure about the setting of the music video. It makes them seem to be loners. You know the type of forever alone. Which may mean they are horrible at love. Question! Why is there a piano in the middle of know where? It is not like they grow on trees or something? Anyway, carrying on with the music video. Did anyone notice that they ‘invited themselves to a random’s campsite’? How rude of them! They start eating other people’s food? Like seriously? The food they ate did seem like they came from some kind of fast food chain around the corner. The map that they were seen holding looked like a brown piece of paper. They wore suits, and what was with the big letters which spelt out “PRESENT” at the end? Oh wait, it makes sense now. They were camping in the backyard. Yeah that why… oh wait… maybe that is not the reason why they were wearing suits.

The live is pretty good. Not sure about the stage though, those trees branches and those big mushroom things are a big no no. They sound fine and the dance is okay. Not as addictive.

Yeah, umm.. 5/10. Don’t kill me though.

Ma Boy 3 – Electroboyz ft. Nana (After School)

Source: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-nzbICZ2m5rY/UVJZaebivgI/AAAAAAABOZw/tA1i7YPq8IE/s1600/electroboyz.jpg

Another version of Ma Boy is finally out. Electroboyz has finally made their comeback with a fresh new version of the sexy song that was once belonged to Sistar19, now I think differently. It seems like the guys bought the song. Well, hopefully they have enough ideas up until Ma Boy 25. Is that some kind of world record though? 25 versions of the song? What about Ma Boy 0? That looks cool!!! <– Me being weird.

Ma Boy 3 is much slower than Ma Boy and Ma Boy 2. This time around, they added a softer, squeakier voice to the  song, rather than the husky voice that Hyorin is known for. But I have to make this clear. Out of all the versions of Ma Boy that I have heard, this one is not exactly my favourite. I like this version, but the whole Sistar group version and the remix version of Ma Boy 2 sounds really good, exceeding this one so much. I really do like Nana’s voice in this song. which is completely different to what I have heard of her in the past. The guys sounds pretty cool as well, not much to complain there. I particularly like the ending of the song. I gives a new flavour to the song and adds that extra bit that we all want. Right? So overall is the song is pretty good.

The music video fits the speed of the song. Like come on. This is a really slow song, but it has a slow music video which enhances the song. Nana does not really make an appearance in the music video, instead an actress took her part, which I really don’t understand. The music video itself seems really low budget. The camera work is kind of rough in my point of view. It is basically scenes of the members singing and rapping. There is nothing more to the video. Beside that, there are the club scenes, but it seems that the music video could’ve had something else except of the club scene. You understand? Also, I am not particularly keen on the bridge of the music video. Like, that vase of flowers are such a distraction. LOL I kid. It just the white background really does not fit that dark club scene before and after the bridge.

The live sounds amazing. I am surprised that all 4 people managed to pull the lyrics off. I think Nana should be the only artist to sing her part. When Girl’s Day Sojin (I think that is her name) sang, it felt awkward and not really there. Nana’s stage presence makes the performance much better and the dance they did at the end is pretty cool.

Yeah, it could’ve been better. 5.5/10. But overall, it is okay.

Here is a little thing. What version of the song do you like? Ma Boy or Ma Boy 2 or Ma Boy 3? Videos are linked below. Put your preference down in the comments!!!

Love Blossom – K.Will

K.Will recently made his comeback with the 2nd part of his album late last week. This time around, it is more a bubbly song than that deep song we got from K.Will. To be honest, I am amazed with this half of the album, and overall, both parts were really good. For once, he “has his 15 seconds of fame” in this music video, all to be discussed below. Keep on reading.

The song is totally opposite of Please Don’t (Review Here!!). Both talking about love, but on two different perspectives. I am starting to think that I should move from Korea far away from this lonely island of Australia. I think I am more adapt to the different seasons which Korea has at the different times of the year, if you understand what I am saying. Anyway, this was an excellent song choice from this half of the album, fitting the season of Spring really well. I really like his voice this song and the instrumental itself is really good. However, I feel like he held back a bit too much for this song. It does not seem to have that K.Will feel to it, that other songs tend of have. But let’s see what other people think about the song.

The music video is hilarious. Well, not to that extreme, but to an extent. From what I gather, Myungsoo, is a slave to these bosses who are really up the social rank than him and treat him like total crap. Myungsoo plots to trap (possibly kill) the bosses as well, so once they are on the ride of DOOM aka. spinning top thingy. He shoots the controller (K.Will) who dressed up really well for the part. He then notices a girl (Dasom) while eating his ice cream and they bond over ice cream. Ummm.. Is it me, or this music video is really, really fluffy. Fluffier than that teddy bears of yours. I mean, like how unrealistic given the circumstances will you find love at a theme park  after killing someone and potential killing some more. Well, there are some things I wish to point out. That car is a really big one. Fits like 8 people. Secondly, the small girl who gives Dasom the ice cream seems dodgy. Have you not learnt not to pick up ice cream from strangers? Thirdly, but did K.Will’s glasses land in an awkward position? It would kind of been impossible to have it land that way. And Dasom is dating a murder. Yeah, I guess she never knew.

The live is pretty cool. No complaints. It is much more energetic than Please Don’t and the dance is pretty cool. I like the addition of the trumpets.

9.99/10. Why the 0.01 mark off? Well, Myungsoo killed K.Will. He killed K.Will. Shouldn’t we be getting some kind of police onto Myungsoo. It is not like he is on the run or anything. Nah, I kid. But 0.01 mark off for K.Will’s exceptionally short appearance in his music video. 😀

Rose – Lee Hi

Source: http://www.allkpop.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/20130328_leehi_rose.jpg

Lee Hi recently followed up with her promotions of her song from her 2nd mini album (?) with Rose. This too, also achieved really high on the charts and the charts is starting to become similar to the Hunger Games arena. Who will volunteer as tribute, we will soon find out. But Lee Hi recently started promoting Rose, which is quite the opposite of It’s Over. Want more info? Read on.

The song is much more darker than It’s Over. It’s Over (which review is here!!!) was much more of a bright song, full of life and happy emotions. Rose took a turn for the good, and changed dramatically. Her soulful vibes in this song matches the whole genre really well. However, I am actually more used to her voice being more lively. I personally don’t think this is possible, but the song kind of felt like it was sung with a monotone voice. There seems to be emotions in some part, nothing really to give me the pleasure of listening to it.  But hey, the song is still good. Her mini English part took me sometime to work out. It sounds more like stem, in a way. The instrumental is okay, nothing major, but I still think the song is pretty good.

The music video relied on a lot of white. It was like white everything, but their use of other colours, red, and the shade of black, was pretty good, and really was bolded in the who video. The music video was pretty beautiful. Just I have some concerns. I like the scenes with the blood dripping from the thorns of the stems of the white things (don’t really think you can call them a stem). What I don’t get is why there are half naked soldiers running through this bush or thing? And why were they covered in white paint? Is this some kind of specialty paintball park or something  Where there is only white paint, places where you can prick yourself and bleed and you must be half naked at all times. Ouch. Also, I really don’t get the point of the female dancers in the video. I just want to say this: Don’t you hate it when outside is so windy, and you try to hang bedsheets on the clothes line? Just me? Oh.

The live is kind of weird. I don’t really like the start of the MCountdown performance, mainly because of the black and white effect. It makes the whole performance look outdated and dull. The female dancers make their return, in what seems to be much thicker bedsheets. Honestly, I think YG is cutting back on the amount of money they are spending for clothes on the dancers. The guys in Big Bang’s performance for SBS Gayo last year, only wore pants and a jacket, not even a shirt underneath. Concerned. I thought Gangnam Style made you guys a lot of money… The stage is pretty good as well, but the dance is nothing that great.

6/10. Dark, but okay.

Just The Two Of Us – Davichi

Source: http://www.mtvk.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/k_davichi_mystic-ballad.png

Davichi has finally began their official promotions of their third album with another wonderful song. At the end of February (from memory), they released a single called Turtle, which I have reviewed about already here. They also on the 1st of April, another song, giving thanks to their success for their all kills which they have all achieved with the two songs. All Kills in Korea is when they top all of the three major charts in terms of download. But hey, congratulation Davichi. You deserve it!

Davichi sounds really good in this song. Their harmonisation is spot on and really sound well. The song is quite slow, but it fits their voices really well. I guess this song fits the standards of their previous songs or even higher. The piano  accompaniment sounds amazing. You can hear sadness of the song and the sorrow which they have in this song. Seriously, no wonder people say they are like a powerhouse. The songs builds up slowly and when they reach a  certain part, they unleash all the power they have gathered, which Davichi always seems to be the best at. I also think I can hear a harp in this song. I don’t usually hear harps at all. But hey, I don’t want to creep you out yet. So let’s just rest it at this.

The music video is really good. First off the bat, I would like to mention the lighting in this video. The moments when the lead actress feels sad and lonely, there is this dark lighting in the video. The moments where she is happy and enjoying her time with her quite handsome boyfriend, the lighting is quite bright and joyful. Now, that is off my chest. Yes, this is a such a sad music video. I found the music video itself compliments the song and its sorrows. However, there are a few things that quite confuses me. The first, is the craving into the table. That really does not occur where I live. Not sure about Korea, but carving things into the table is definitely not on my list of social norms. And also, did he crave “Be With Yo4” instead of “Be With You”? Secondly, the music video is actually lacking a scene, as a YouTuber did notice. I agree, the music video is missing the scene of why he actually first broke up with her, but yet it shows that he misses her. Did he hide some dirty secret from her? Did he suffer and avoided his girlfriend from suffering?. Lastly, she seems to be drinking a lot in this music video. I don’t think she touched her food at all. (Yes, she did order some food. Check the end of the video).

The live is like a normal ballad performance. Just those rose covered chairs really look distracting in the whole performance.  -Insert best bitchy face here- .

8.5/10. Pretty good.

Come Back – AA

Source: http://kpopconcerts.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/Double-A-2.jpg

AA has made their long-awaited comeback. It has been like over a year since we all last saw them. From memory, I never got around to reviewing them, which totally sucks, because I really liked their previous song, Going Crazy. However after numerous months off, and a month full of teasers, the boys are back, with another song. On with the review:

The song, titled appropriately as “Come Back”, to me, is not that spectacular. Some people may think that this is a totally awesome song, but to me, it was kind of weak. What happened with their teasers? The teasers had really good songs, but instead we got this song. It is not exactly rubbish, but their were some parts that got me a little weird. Let’s start with the start. Oh the start, what was with the intro? That medieval style guitar-like sound. The song actually breaks down into a more popish song. Not keen on the transition here, and then we get into the chorus, which really sounds okay. However, the excessive use of the word “back” really threw me off. I liked the rap and that little English monologue. The high note was pretty good as well. But the random guitar moment within the song were deficiently not the best addition for the song. However, the vocals were pretty good, much better than Going Crazy.

That setting seems familiar, firstly. Oh wait, wasn’t that where SHINee used to perform Lucifer? Their fashion is okay (beside those red outfits), but was that red hair guy wearing lipstick? Like seriously? Personally, like the rainbow guy’s hair much more than the others. I am definitely not keen on that blur frame that had going out through the whole video. Is it me or that this music video seemed really under budget? They used a school gym for one of the scenes and had horrible lighting for most of the video. So yeah, not that pleasant for the music video.

The dance is pretty good, and to hear that the main dancer of the group had choreographed the whole song, was pretty amazing. Something I would’ve expected from Taeyang from Big Bang or Eunhyuk from Super Junior. The dance fitted the feel and the beat of the song.

5/10. Quite unsure about this comeback, despite the fact that I was looking forward to the “Come Back”. (I also apologise. I could not get an official live performance video. KBS has not uploaded anything yet :()

Man In Love – Infinite

Infinite has finally made their comeback with Man In Love which is a much different approach to their strong, powerful chorography image that they usually have. It has been nearly a year, since their last release of The Chaser and Sunggyu’s solo, 60 Seconds and Infinite H at the start of the year with Special Girl. Woah, that is a lot of songs, from just one band in a one year period. Oh wait, I forgot B.A.P. Sorry *derp face*

The song was not expected at all. I was expecting something along the lines of The Chaser, Paradise or Be Mine. Instead we got some kind of cute aegyo style song from the boys, somewhat similar to their debut song. They brought us back tot he original pop era, like the 2000’s and that is pretty cool, as they always do. It took me a few listens to get used to the song. I don’t like the start that much. If it was a live band, the intro would’ve been amazing. But the intro sounds really modern and computer-like feel to it. The verses were okay, but did not stand out too well. The chorus too seemed that well. The raps are pretty cool, and stands out the most in the song for me. Okay, I will just say this: the song, overall is okay. It is definitely not the best, but okay.

The music video is quite interesting? I don’t know if the right word was used. We see a bunch of guys in love with a girl and want to please or surprise the girl. Let’s go in order, the first guy (sorry, i don’t his name) is madly in love with hat cat, not a girl. Woohyun, is kind of in love with someone (that bear at the end?) and plays the piano horribly (Guess the music industry is not for you, mate). Myungsoo, seems to be madly with the idea of love or his cell phone  In a casual class  all he thinks about is love. Kind of freak hey? That guy who cooks can’t actually cook. Yeah, last time I checked, there are no apples whatsoever in a recipe for fortune cookies. Dongwoo, creates a library out of the hall way, don’t know how that symbolises love, but hey, I just hope no one lives above that library of his. Sunggyu, seems to be the most convincing.  Hoya, on the other is the most awkward one. He goes into a store, embarrasses himself by trying out clothing and ends up buying a necklace, which for some reason does not try on. But beside being comical, I liked this video.

The dance was okay. Nothing major, expect for that part where Hoya and Dongwoo has towards the end. It looked cool. The dance was not overly complicated and shall not be known as a difficult dance, like what the guys have done before.

7/10. Okay, I guess, but could’ve been loads better.

In Front Of The Mirrior – GLAM

Source: http://b.vimeocdn.com/ts/428/975/428975236_640.jpg

GLAM recently finished promoting I Like That which came out at the very start of the year. Now they are back with another unexpected song. In Front of the Mirror is a very slow song compared to their other releases  but still has their uniqueness within it.

This is not their best song. I just want to get it off my chest. I am not exactly fond of this song at all. It is slow and kind of loopy doo for me. I prefer a more powerful and dominate image of the group than this. They say this song is part hip hop, part trot. I don’t really see the trot part of this song. Nor do I really see the hip hop part as well, since this supposedly has trot in it. However, beside this internal conflict, I really like the vocals in this song. The rap, however, does not fit in with the song that much. But overall, I thought it was okay.

The music video is quite interesting. It talks, like the lyrics, about the trouble the girls go through to be pretty and socially acceptable. They have to wear high heels to boost up their height, have to where fake breast pads (sorry, I don’t know the technical term for it), wear fake wigs to look good, and wear completely tight clothing to make body stand out. But only to go home to feel insecure. Despite all of this talk, I felt the lighting of the music video not quite right. It feels warm and fuzzy. While the song does give off this feeling, the message of the song does not. But beside that, the music video is quite good. I am just going to wonder: the guy at the end. Is he their actual manager or just an actor?

The dance is pretty okay as well. Nothing as spectacular as I Like That or Party XXO. But I guess if will be sufficient for a comeback just right after their previous promotional, so they probably did not have much time to learn a much harder choreography.

As the whole review say, okay for all aspects. 6.5/10.
