[Weekly KPOP Chart] 4th Week of July 2022

Another Weekly KPOP Chart is here, and once again, it is on time! I am a bit busy with album reviews to write up, and some other personal errands. So I will be keeping the introduction super short today. Here is my Weekly KPOP Chart post for the 4th Week of July 2022.

Recap & New releases of the Week

A three review week, with PURPLE KISS’ Nerdy, ATBO’s Monochrome (Color) and ATEEZ’s Guerrilla being covered. However, I have posted a number of album reviews for Red Velvet, SUHO and AB6IX and also wrote reviews for side tracks from SUHO and Stray Kids’ most recent mini-albums.

Other releases from the week includes:

  • Somebody! – Loco & Hwasa (Mamamoo)
  • AVIATOR – YOUNITE
  • be free – KB (OnlyOneOf)
  • Just A Dancer – Sunye
  • Walking On The Moon – TAN
  • Freak – ZICO
  • HOOKAH – DalSoobin
  • Drummin’ – TO1
  • Evening – YUJU ft. BIG Naughty
  • Ready For Love – BLACKPINK
  • Cruel – Jackson Wang (GOT7)
  • Hype Boy – NewJeans
  • Hurt – NewJeans
  • We Are – NewJeans

Throwback Corner

Not related to the recent announcement they are making a comeback, Golden Child’s Pump It Up was this week’s throwback song. It just popped onto my recommendations and I revisited a couple of times during this week.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

This week’s non-Korean release is Charlie Puth and Jungkook’s collaboration, Left & Right, which was released late last month. The song ranked in the 9th position this week. Per most of the international collaborations and singles by Korean artists, I have yet to review this one. But I will get around to it eventually!

The Charts

Congratulations to ATEEZ for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 4th Week of July 2022 with Guerrilla. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 3rd Week of July 2022

Another Weekly KPOP Chart is here, and on time! Unfortunately, I didn’t have enough time to write up that International Song Review segment this weekend, so that has been pushed to next weekend. But there is some time for an album review after this. So to avoid any further delays, here is the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 3rd Week of July 2022.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

Still holding onto the title of the Non-Korean release of the week is Stray Kids’ CIRCUS. However, this time the song ranks in the 44th position for the week.

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 2nd Week of July 2022

Apologies for the delay for last week’s Weekly KPOP Chart. Just had a busy weekend in which I didn’t get to do much for the blog aside from two song reviews. This weekend will dedicated to review writing as I don’t think I have anything on and I need to stockpile a few reviews for one of the coming weekends. Hope you all are having a great week! Here is the Weekly KPOP Chart post for the 2nd Week of July 2022.

New releases of the Week

Another relatively big week for me, with reviews written for CHUNG HA, SF9, ITZY and the two lead tracks from j-hope’s solo debut (Arson was officially released last week, with MORE released two weeks ago). But here are the other releases from last week that have not had the review treatment just yet:

  • Tropical Romance – BUSTERS
  • Copycat – CHOBOM (APINK Chorong & Bomi)
  • Mango – Super Junior
  • Delicious – Woo Jinyoung (D1CE)
  • Wind – Me:us
  • Celebrate – TWICE
  • BEAUTIFUL – Changjo (TEEN TOP)

Throwback Corner

There was no song on repeat last week. But the song that I do fondly remember jamming to last week was CNBLUE’s You’re So Fine.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

Rising back towards the top of the charts this week (and thus earning the title of this week’s top non-Korean release) is Stray Kids’ CIRCUS. It places in the 11th position. A review for that is coming sometime in the future through the International Song Review segment. Don’t know exactly when CIRCUS will be up for review, but I can confirm that there is an International Song Review post coming this weekend.

The Charts

Congratulations to SF9 for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 2nd Week of July 2022 with SCREAM. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 1st Week of July 2022

Another blink, another Weekly KPOP Chart post. The weeks just go back so quickly now. Anyhow, apologies for the lack of album reviews last week and this week. There will be one coming up very shortly, and hopefully I can get more posted next week. Also more reviews will be published this week for new and older releases. In the meanwhile, here is the Weekly KPOP Chart post for the 1st Week of the second half of 2022 (i.e. 1st Week of July 2022).

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote massive* number of five new releases this week, which includes ENHYPEN’s Future Present (Pass The MIC), WJSN’s Last Sequence, WINNER’s I LOVE U, VIVIZ’s LOVEADE and aespa’s Girls, here are the other new releases of the week:

  • RUN – H1-KEY
  • WANNA KNOW – IRRIS
  • #MOOD – MCND
  • LUCID DREAM – Jiyoung Kang
  • If With U – MONSTA X
  • Wonderland (Korean Version)AleXa
  • CHEERS – SVT LEADERS
  • Don’t Tell – KANG DANIEL ft. Jessi

*I use the word ‘massive’ as 5 reviews is quite a step from the usual one or two I have written in a week over the past few weeks.

Throwback Corner

For this past week, fromis_9’s FEEL GOOD (SECRET CODE) on repeat. Blame the likes of their Stay This Way comeback, which had me digging up fromis_9’s past tracks!

Non-Korean Release of the Week

SORN’s SAVE ME is the past week’s non-Korean song release of the week, ranking in the 19th position. It is one of the four singles that SORN has released since leaving CLC and Cube Entertainment that I have yet to review (some of which were quite good). Check out SORN’s SAVE ME below (a review will be coming soon for the song).

The Charts

Congratulations to WINNER for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 1st Week of July 2022 with I LOVE U, their first comeback in two years!. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

As we find ourselves on another Sunday, say bye bye to the 5th Week of June 2022 (the week that just past) – the final week of the 1st half of 2022. Sorry for the delay of this week’s Weekly KPOP Chart. Usually, I post these much earlier in the day. But I was running a lot of errands today, so I only have time to sit down and post the Weekly KPOP Charts for last week. What was supposed to be on the agenda today was two album reviews, but I will bump those to next week. So expect those next week. As for now, here is the Weekly KPOP Chart post for the 5th Week of June 2022.

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 4th Week of June 2022

Guess who remembered the Weekly KPOP Chart this time! And it is out on the day it is supposed to come out!

Welcome to the Weekly KPOP Charts for the 4th Week of June 2022. Crazy to think that we went the second half of 2022 in the next week. Of course, I will be making sure more reviews (both songs and album) come your way this week. I know I have promised more lately, and I have been very skimpy with them (as I find myself little time to focus on the blog for a few reasons – tiredness being one of them). But I will try my best to knock out a few more than the usual one or two this week (as I should have more time on my hands this week). Until then, here are my Weekly KPOP Charts for the 4th Week of June 2022.

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote this past week for Kep1er’s Up! and LOONA’s Flip That, here are the other new releases of the week:

  • WATCH OUT – SUPERKIND
  • Move Like This – Kang Daniel & An Yujin (IVE) ft. Kim Yuna
  • HIT YA! – Lapillus
  • Life Goes On – Onew (SHNee)
  • Fresh – Colde
  • LOUDER – TAN
  • SUGAR – Youngjae (GOT7)
  • Ring The Alarm – KARD
  • Color Me – JUNNY ft. CHUNG HA
  • Reference – Lee Mu Jin
  • Scent – YUKIKA
  • Save Me – Sorn
  • Life’s Too Short – aespa
  • Left & Right – Charlie Puth ft. Jungkook (BTS)
  • POP – Nayeon (TWICE)
  • How We Live – Kang Daniel ft. sokodomo

Throwback Corner

Sorry for not featuring a Throwback Song in last week’s Weekly KPOP Chart post. For this past week, I have selected SNSD’s Holiday (one of the singles from their last comeback) as the throwback song, as I gear myself up for their potential and long awaited return for their 15th anniversary later this year.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

Stray Kids’ CIRCUS is the past week’s non-Korean song release of the week, ranking in the 23rd position. This is CIRCUS‘ second week in a row to be featured in this segment. Check out Stray Kids’ CIRCUS below (a review will be coming soon for the song).

The Charts

Congratulations to NCT DREAM for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 4th Week of June 2022 with Beatbox. This is the second week which Beatbox have topped the Weekly KPOP Charts, with the first week being the 1st Week of June 2022. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 2nd Week of June 2022

Another week has passed. But the difference this time around is that Queendom 2 done and dusted! While I did mention that I was supposed to get onto some song and album reviews straight away many times now, once I wrapped up my final Queendom 2 post, I have decided to delay that slightly until tomorrow and take a bit of a break after a slightly busy weekend. So, I will be back tomorrow with reviews being my ultimate focus for the next few weeks. In the meanwhile. here is the Weekly KPOP Charts post for the second week of June 2022.

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote last week for SECRET NUMBER’s DOOMCHITA and BTS’ Yet To Come (The Most Beautiful Moment), here are the other new releases of the week:

  • Snail – Kim Jae Hwan
  • 11:59 – APR PROJECT
  • Today’s Weather – Son Dongwoon (HIGHLIGHT)
  • Boombabboom – EPISODE
  • Let’s End It Here – Park Hyunkyu (VROMANCE)
  • WHO – TRENDZ
  • Danger – woo!ah!
  • Circus – Stray Kids

Throwback Corner

Another song that I am sure has made it onto this corner before is SEVENTEEN’s Rock With You. But it is my throwback song for the week. I have been completing digging this song this week, on top of this week’s charts listens.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

Golden Child’s RATA-TAT-TAT is the past week’s non-Korean song release of the week, ranking in the 34th position. Check out Golden Child’s RATA-TAT-TAT below (a review will be coming soon for the song).

The Charts

Congratulations to Brave Girls for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 2nd Week of June 2022 with their Queendom 2 finale single, Whistle. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 1st Week of June 2022

Apologies for the delay in posting the Weekly KPOP Charts for last week. While I did focus on Queendom 2 for a bit of the weekend, there was not enough time for me to smash out the post for the finale of Queendom 2 and post the Weekly KPOP Charts for the 1st Week of June 2022. These instead will be postponed, with the Weekly KPOP Chart to be posted today and the final Queendom 2 post will be posted later this week (possibly on the weekend). And I hope to restart writing some reviews from tomorrow, as well.

Wherever you are, hope you all have a good morning, afternoon, evening or night! It is night time here, so I am off to bed! And with that, here is my Weekly KPOP Chart for the 1st Week of June 2022.

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote last week for NCT DREAM’s Beatbox and VICTON’s Stupid O’Clock, here are the other new releases of the week:

  • YOUNG BOY – HELLO GLOOM
  • Starry Road – Kei
  • The Greatest – BoA
  • Mermaid – Xindy (ZEROSIX)
  • VIVID – CRAVITY
  • Your Eyes – Stray Kids
  • Illusion – aespa
  • lost – DVWN
  • Love Shhh! – Jo Yuri
  • Telescope – Bitsaeon (M.O.N.T)
  • Happy Birthday – Colde
  • Pirate Boy – BOYHOOD

And while they were technically released during the week before last week, I have decided to factor in the Queendom 2 singles as new releases for last week instead (simply because I had no time to listen to them when they were first released):

  • Waka Boom – Hyolyn ft. Lee Young Ji
  • AURA – WJSN
  • THE GIRLS (Can’t Yurn Me Down) – Kep1er
  • Red Sun! – VIVIZ
  • POSE – LOONA
  • Whistle – Brave Girls

I will be posting my final post on Queendom 2 (which will contain song reviews for the above singles) later this week.

Throwback Corner

Like last week, I took a time machine and went back a number of years to listen to a different songs from the past! KARA appeared and I just binged their songs last week. My song choice for the Throwback Corner is KARA’s last single, CUPID, which was released back in 2014.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

Woosung’s Phase Me is the past week’s non-Korean song release of the week, ranking in the 18th position. Check out Woosung’s Phase Me below (a review will be coming soon for the song).

The Charts

Congratulations to NCT DREAM for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 1st Week of June 2022 with their addictive comeback single, Beatbox. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 4th Week of May 2022

Apologies for the delay in posting the Weekly KPOP Charts for last week. I focused on the Queendom 2 recaps last weekend, which ended bumping this post to the side. It is looking like the same thing will happen this weekend, as I still have the second half of Round 3 to cover and the finale (which is currently airing as I write this). I will endeavor to get the next Weekly KPOP Chart post this week out as soon as possible after I finish up with the Queendom 2 posts (yes, the goal for this week is to finish off Queendom 2, so I can get back on catching up with song and album reviews).

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote last week for GOT7’s NANANA, SEVENTEEN’s HOT and Kang Daniel’s Upside Down, here are the other new releases of the week:

  • Do you wanna get down – LUNARSOLAR
  • Thumbs Up – BLANK2Y
  • ALIVE – LIGHTSUM
  • Pisces – Yerin Baek
  • VENOM – BVNDIT
  • CLASSY – CLASS:y
  • Gotta Get Back – P1Harmony ft. Pink Sweat$

Throwback Corner

While my memory does fail me from time to time, I was smart enough to make note of last week’s throwback song. Otherwise, we would be looking at a second week without a throwback song. Hyolyn’s appearance on Queendom 2 got me going through Sistar’s discography, and Give It To Me emerged as one of the songs that got a lot of replays.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

As SEVENTEEN made their comeback this week with HOT, Darl+ing also received the most listens this week on the ‘Non-Korean song’ front. This is thanks to the repeated listens of the album I gave over the two days it was out (simply because I forgot I had already checked out the album, and proceeded to check it out whilst working and writing the Queendom recaps). For those who don’t know, the English-language song is featured on their latest album, Face The Sun. This is in addition to the usual listens I give songs on the charts. Darl+ing placed in the 11th position last week.

The Charts

Congratulations to GOT7 for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 4th Week of May 2022 with their long awaited comeback single, NANANA. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 3rd Week of May 2022

Another week, another Weekly KPOP Chart post for the past week. I am going to breeze past this introduction again this week, as I want to work on a song review for AB6IX and the next Queendom 2 post (which I expect to post tomorrow). So without any further delays, here are the Weekly KPOP Charts for the 3rd Week of May 2022.

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote for ASTRO’s Candy Sugar Pop and ONEUS’ Bring It On, here are the other new releases of the week:

  • Fanfare – Davichi
  • DEEP – HYO (SNSD)
  • MOVE – TNX
  • Savior – AB6IX
  • ARIA – Yerin
  • Roommate – ONEWE
  • canvas – BF
  • Until The End – Han Dong Geun
  • Wish You Were Here – LUMINOUS
  • Rocky – ATEEZ

Throwback Corner

Unfortunately, there is no Throwback song for this week. I did listen to a couple of tracks this week, but nothing really perked my interest. So, I will be dipping into last week’s history and pulling out a GOT7 track (remember I was doing a GOT7 binge in preparation for their comeback). The track in question is GOT7’s 2018 single, Lullaby.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

The highest ranking non-Korean song this week is the Japanese version of the ATEEZ’s Rocky, which placed in the 7th position for this past week. I have previously reviewed the Korean version of Rocky, which is featured on ATEEZ’s 7th mini-album, Zero: Fever Part 3, which you can have a read of here.

The Charts

Congratulations to ASTRO for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 3rd Week of May 2022 with their latest comeback single, Candy Sugar Pop. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 2nd Week of May 2022

Another week, another Weekly KPOP Chart post for the past week. I am going to breeze past this introduction again this week, as I want to work on an album review and the next Queendom 2 post (finally). So without any further delays, here are the Weekly KPOP Charts for the 2nd Week of May 2022.

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote for TXT’s Good Boy Gone Bad and Jeong Sewoon’s Roller Coaster, here are the other new releases of the week:

  • Fame – Ciipher
  • Sanctuary – Song Heejin
  • Why – Hwang Chi Yeol
  • ACACIA – Yezi

  • DARARI (Remix) – TREASURE
  • Montage_ – ONEWE
  • BTBT – B.I ft. DeVita

Throwback Corner

So I went on a GOT7 binge this week in preparation for their long awaited comeback (super excited!!!). I had predicted that one of the full group song’s would feature in this corner, but it turns out I ended up vibing with Youngjae’s Vibin, and so it is my pick for Throwback Song this week.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

The highest ranking non-Korean song this week is Mark Tuan’s save me, which placed in the 26th position for this past week. I will be reviewing save me in a future International Song Review post (they will come!).

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 4th Week of April 2022

Hello again! We have reached the end of April already! Time is definitely flying by this year. While this is usually daunting, it was made enjoyable with all the releases that came out this week. Usually, I am able to sneak a listen in for all new releases, but there was so much to keep up with (plus, I have pre-occupied with some personal stuff earlier in the week). I will definitely be listening to the releases that I haven’t had a chance to yet as part of the upcoming week. But (as usual), we must get through the Weekly KPOP Chart post for the week that just past before heading into the new week!

New releases of the Week

In addition to the reviews I wrote for MONSTA X’s LOVE, VERIVERY’s Undercover, Moonbyul’s C.I.T.T and Yoon Ji Sung’s BLOOM, here are the other new releases of the week:

  • DECRESCENDO – Changjo (TEEN TOP)
  • highway love – POLAR (Choi Junhyuk) ft. NASON
  • Walking Through The Moon – Lee Sujeong
  • Play Hide & Seek – ICHILLIN’
  • Futt – Busters
  • CREATURE – E’LAST
  • Drive – Miyeon ((G)I-DLE)
  • Business – Soyou ft. BE’O
  • Some 2 – Soyou ft. Jung Yonghwa (CNBLUE)
  • Sober – DKB
  • Self Trip – MINSEO
  • Thoughts of You – Jay Park ft. pH-1 & BENZO
  • Milky Way – COSMO
  • Ready to Ride – Kang Daniel
  • Type & Delete – Kim Kyu Jong (SS501) & Lee In Jun (DGNA/The Boss) ft. Dalzi
  • That That – Psy ft. SUGA (BTS)

Throwback Corner

This week’s throwback song belongs to IVE, the current power rookie that is dominating the charts in Korea with their latest single, LOVE DIVE. As LOVE DIVE is currently on the charts, it is ineligible for the Throwback Corner. But their debut single ELEVEN, which I have been listening to side by side to LOVE DIVE, is.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

The highest ranking non-Korean song this week is, ITZY’s Voltage, which placed in the 26th position for this past week. Voltage is ITZY’s first original Japanese single, which officially dropped in early April. I will definitely cover it in a future International Song Review post.

The Charts

Congratulations to MONSTA X for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 4th Week of April 2022 with their latest single, LOVE. For more of the charts, keep on reading.

Songs leaving the charts

The following songs have wrapped up their nine week run in the charts system, and will no longer be on the charts starting next week:

[Weekly KPOP Chart] 3rd Week of April 2022

Apologies for the slow week that had just past. I was very tired after work this week, and so spent the time I should have been blogging, resting. As a result, I only reviewed two songs this week, those of which were from previous weeks. I am hoping that I will be back on board to review some new/old releases, and work on those special posts (Queendom Season 2, mainly) that I have been promising for weeks. In the meanwhile, here is the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 3rd Week of April 2022.

New releases of the Week

I wrote no new reviews for this week. But this doesn’t mean that the past week had no new releases. See the list below of new releases from the past week that have been entered into this Weekly KPOP Chart segment:

  • D-Day – Wheein (Mamamoo)
  • Hit Me Up – Min ft. JMIN
  • I Want You To Be Happy – APINK
  • FINE! – HA:TFELT
  • Seoul – BOL4
  • 1 of 9 – YOUNITE
  • EVERYBODY – YOUNITE ft. DJ Juice
  • Make It Right – Jungmo
  • SO GOOD – DRIPPIN
  • Crossing In The Line – BOUN
  • Memory – BOUN
  • Overcome – Mimi
  • Savior – Kim Sung Kyu (Infinite)
  • Bluebird – Ryeowook (Super Junior)
  • Memories– Me:us

Throwback Corner

This week’s throwback song is 2NE1’s I Am The Best, all thanks to their surprise and unexpected reunion on stage at this year’s Coachella.

Non-Korean Release of the Week

The highest ranking non-Korean song this week is, again, Red Velvet’s WILDSIDE, which placed in 5th position for this past week.

The Charts

Congratulations to DKZ for topping the Weekly KPOP Chart for the 3rd Week of April 2022 with their latest single, Cupid. This is the first time DKZ (or Dongkiz) has topped the Weekly KPOP Charts segment on my blog! For more of the charts, keep on reading.
